Question- how do you find digital inking? I personally can't stand doing it, but some people swear by it.

As for digital inking... I do mine free-hand, with a tablet. It's tricky at first but it's just a matter of getting used to it, really. The end result is very good if done right and it makes coloring much easier. There's also this tool on Photoshop, the Pen tool, that makes for gorgeous lines. You don't need a tablet to use it, but again, it takes a while to get the hang of it. It's all worth investing time into though. :3

well...some of the greatest artworks arent actually completed at all.
(cant say your stuff is on that level but im sure you know what I mean) >.>
but anyways...man do I ever need to get back to working on drawing...been forever since I really took the time to really draw somthing nice...oddly enough Ive always been the type to get better after a period of non-drawing...its kinda odd >.>

I swear, am going to tear up when I get at least one of these done.
And I'm the same way sometimes; I won't draw for about a month or so, and then see improvement when I finally do. Breaks are good, gives you time to work on your visualization.

That's right. I suggest that you start messing around with the design, trying all kinds of crazy ideas on the OC - Then, reduce the level of craziness step by step, eliminate details and ides you don't like and keep things you do like. What remains should be some good ideas and quirks that make your character interesting and unique :)

Thanks so much for the kind words! Klema's my favorite pairing so I wanted something sweet but not too generic. Hopefully that shone through the art. And oh gawd, backgrounds. I agree, VERY frustrating. This has to be one of the very few pieces I've done that has a decent background on it. xD
