Great! Finally something new! And so early, August. I thought they would release it by October or November.

Anyway, any word on the movie lately?

Just beat the first one, and it was awesome. It's now officially September Thirteenth for the release of the second one in the U.S., so rejoice.

It's going to be released as "Professor Layton and Pandora's Box" in the UK, and on the GAME site, there's box art now. It retains the same cover style as Curious Village.

In other words, this does not apply to you if you are not buying the UK version.

Inferior UK version

Diabolical Box is the best name.

I sorta like the UK box more with all the red, but I don't like the picture of the puzzles on there.
Diabolical Box as a title f.t.w.

And I had a bad opinion on America too, but Professor Layton made it better.
On April 3, 2016, Court Records Forums experienced a miracle upon that day.

Is Everyone 10+ like the UK 7+? I guess.
The US DS boxes annoy me as they're bloody harder to open than UK boxes. So I'll go with the UK edition :D

Those are both really bad box arts.

It looks like they took the back information and stuck it on the front.

It would be nice to have this localized. Even if it's a DVD exslusive. Actually, I prefer that.

BUMP! We have an Australian release date! 24 Sept!

So the release date is in September? I guess that's alright, though I was looking forward to August. Wonder how that's going to fit in since I'm getting Phantasy Star, Kingdom Hearts, and Ace Attorney Investigations too.

As Regy said, and I'll expand, the release dates are:
NA: August 24, 2009
EU: September 25, 2009
AU: September 24, 2009

Less than two months!

Also, it seems they changed "Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva"'s opening date from January 2010 to December 19, 2009! That means fan subbings earlier! YES!

Also, people, check this out: The "Professor"'s Twitter Account.

EDIT: Oh, someone posted it already... Meh.

I heard that it wasn't a live action movie, but an animated one. Also that it will be interactive, probably in a Dora the Explorer type thing. (meaning aimed for younguns.)

Remember "Professor Layton: The First Movie"? Well, that was the codename for "Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva". And yes, it's the animated feature film. I read it takes place after the events of Majin no Fue (Specter's Flute). That would leave things like this, timeline-wise:

1-Specter's Flute (Game, 2009 for Japan, ??? for NA/EU)
1.5- Eternal Diva (Movie, 2009 for Japan, ??? for NA/EU (according to the movie's official site)
2-Unannounced "Specter's Flute" sequel (Game)
3-Unnanounced sequel to "Specter's Flute" sequel (Game)
4-Curious Village (Game, 2007 for Japan, 2008/9 for NA/EU)
5-Diabolical's Box (Game, 2008 for Japan, 2009 for NA/EU)
6-Final Time Journey (Game, 2008 for Japan, 2010? for NA/EU)

Do you mean this:

For Diabolical Box, the Japan-only "Level-5 Premium Silver/Gold" collections on Nintendo DS included an exclusive side-story, "Professor Layton and the Holiday in London" (レイトン教授とロンドンの休日) in addition to the actual game and another Level-5 game, Inazuma Eleven. The Holiday in London includes ten puzzles, some of which are from the first game, and a short storyline, set in Professor Layton's London office, in which he reminisces about his previous adventures around the world.
