:violin: I've been playing DDR basically all of my life, constantly landing 'A' and 'AA', but never perfect enough to land a 'AAA' until today on 'So Deep - Perfect Sphere Mix' on Heavy, and I became excited, knowing that I'll always remember that as my first AAA, and that got me thinking of something to ask everyone around here:

If you've ever 'AAA' a song DDR/Stepmania/FFR , what was your first 'AAA' song, and what difficulty was it on?

my first AAA was on Sky High (The DJ Miko Sky High) on heavy on the DDR Extreme Arcade. I was pretty much going insane after I found out that I got it.

I have Stepmania, but I never go on it (I'm terrible at it). I only have TWEWY stuff on it, and I don't think any of them are AAA. :payne:

Stepmania-wise, I've AAAed all songs from 1st-5th Mix, all but Fantasy on DDRMax, all songs on DDRMax2, all songs except for PSM Oni on Extreme. I haven't bothered trying Supernova and beyond..well, best I got on Fascination Maxx Heavy was like 5 Greats.

I have yet to get an AAA on anything. I haven't played DDR in a while but I have Stepmania and play it a lot. I get AA's a lot, so I anticipate the day I get an AAA. xD

:hobohodo: I was in that same boat. It's pretty cool to get 'AAA', but a little more of a challenge? On Stepmania there's a 'AAAA' and 'AAAAA'. Still awaiting that day... :hoboleft:

Holy shit, I LOVE Stepmania and DDR.
I am sad to say though that I am much better on keyboard arrows than I am on my feet. But I used to be able to do some of the easier heavy songs. I remember AA'ing Sandstorm, Polovstian Dances and Chorus, Ecstasy and various other songs.

As for AAA, I've only managed to get them on Stepmania using a keyboard.
My first was Dream a Dream XD It was on Heavy.

Random fact: The first heavy song I was able to pass on Stepmania was Freckles.
On my feet, my first heavy song was Firefly.

I've been entering tournaments for this dancing game since like 2001, so Stepmania of all things shouldn't give me problems.

...well, Pluto Relinquish is hard to keep up at the end, I'll have to admit.

Uh, I don't play Stepmania, but I got a Silver SS in Osu! which is perfect accuracy with Difficulty-increasing Mods turned on. Sure, the song I achieved it on (Cirno de Gozaimasu!) wasn't terribly long, but a perfect accuracy on it, with restricted vision and a 2x increase in speed is not an easy task.

I have DDR Universe 3 and I suck at it. I don't think I've even made it through one song. I'm THAT bad.

Having never played any games in this genre before, when I originally read this topic recently it didn't make that much sense to me.

Then later the same day I came across this video. I found the coincidence and the video amusing and impressive.
Does we even do these things anymore?

:hobolaugh: Got a 'AAAA' on 'Max Enigma' just a couple minutes ago. I feel so accomplished.

Another question: Anyone ever completed the challenge stepfile to Death Piano with a 'B' or above?

Hm, DDR-wise my first AAA was Keep On Movin' Heavy. I've been constantly black-flagging all these dumb easy songs for the longest time so this one I was pretty happy about. I had to do it twice because my camera wasn't ready then. heh

And here's my show-off vid, though the best I've gotten was 4 Greats fullcombo. :V

AAAA - 95% of hit steps are marvelous, 5% are Perfect
AAAAA - All hit steps are Marvelous

So, I am redownloading Stepmania now for the first time in a good few months.
They have this "unstable"/new version, Stepmania 4.0 (Alpha), which I decided to download- but does anyone know how "unstable" (buggy) it is?

If it's that bad, then I might just go back to version 3.9 -_-

They've had the unstable 4.0 version available for about a year now. I haven't really noticed anything outta place that isn't already stated in their forums... but I would stay with the 3.9 to make sure you get the max performance without having to code out stepfiles and graphics :hobohodo:

If ITG counts (since it's like a million times better than every DDR ever, it should), then I'll say Changes. If not, I'll say Kind Lady. In StepMania I can't remember the first, but the best (and one of the first) would be Reach's Air.

I haven't played any of these games in the longest time though, so I probably can't just pull AAAs out of my ass like I used to.

I'd recommend 3.9 myself, if just for the fact that several scripted mod marathons work better for it (4.0 doesn't support noteskin changes, at least last I checked, which takes a bit away from some of those classic Brother Mojo marathons). Also, I was never able to find a decent theme or noteskins for 4.0 (I admit, I didn't try all that hard), but stuff like that for 3.9 is easier to find.

So, no. Also, I've never been to the Break myself, it's about 45 minutes from here which is a bit of a trip for an arcade. I honestly do wanna get back into the arcades, but you know. We'll see what happens when I get my own whip.
