I'm looking for voice actors for three characters. You will find their pictures in the next page.
It seems that my sprite comic didn't work out as I expected, mainly because of some sprite problems. As I don't want to waste the story I wrote, I decided to make a game out of it, using RPG Maker XP. It'll be an Ace Attorney Investigations kind of game, viewed from above all the time, in 3rd person, but with trials. A mixture of both gameplays.
Feature List:
- Messages with face expressions and names
- Fully emulated Cross-Examination, including free browsing of statements, pressing and presenting
- 5 ! lives, PWAA style
- Animated OBJECTION!, etc. ballons
- Court Record with evidence and profiles with their descriptions and pictures, plus the "Check" option in photos and maps.
- Ability to save anytime
- "Logic and Trick" parts, with a cursor to point out things in photos and maps
DEMO (only first case) Progress: COMPLETED

About help with other subjects, so far I'm doing OK alone, but I will need a Co-Writer for cases 2 and 3, and also a Franziska sprite for case 4. If you are either a good spriter or writer, you may be of help.

I think if it focused overhead the whole time it'll lose some impact. Would there be some way to integrate images from the game into it, even for a few seconds, just to let the player view their reactions in court? Overheard the whole time seems a little too boring (no offence). Or maybe even something totally new as a way to keep this project as original as possible?
That's just my little thought on it, however from the looks of it, it seems promising. I'm looking forward to hearing more from this.

Great minds think alike, it seems. Of course there's a way to see reactions. You're absolutely right, overhead games with chibis lack impact. That's why, on every message, the face of the character is shown, depending on their emotions, a different expression is shown. Here are some samples:

It's good to see that people are working with resources at hand for their fan cases. Although not fully emulating the GS engine (who honestly cares), a decent VN is always great after produced.

Hmm... If I keep steady and manage to get all the resources I need, like the voices and some other stuff, I think the first case will be ready in late February or early March, but I don't want to make fake promises, so don't rely on this estimation too much.

Hehe, yeah, the judge's face is a bit pixelated in the edges. I'll fix that on its due time.
The demo is not out yet, but I'm working on it. I think that in March or early April as a max I'll have a decent demo with the first case.

As regards the demo, as I said before, I'll release it once I finish the first case completely, and it will take around 1 - 2 months from now. Don't worry, I'll keep updating until I finish it, so you can follow the progress.

Since I'm only in the beginning of the trial right now, from what I can see, everything is going smoothly. One this is that the save menu only comes up after you finish whatever dialogue you were on. I also noticed that Blake's and Vince's portraits are different from Phoenix's and Payne's portrait. You used sprites for Payne's and Phoenix, but Blake and Vince are drawn, sorta. And Vince is a superhero! :D
But still, it looks good from my view. Maybe some kinks to smooth out, but I have to finish it first.

there's a part in the cross examination where you can control blake, and move arround.
The color for the "thinking"... You should make it brighter.
But!... I like the game. There were some funny parts.
