Colias Palaeno's Japanese name

Post by capefeather »

This site's character profile of Colias Palaeno says that his Japanese surname, ヒンジ (Hinji), comes from a word meaning "butterfly keeper". However, Google searches have turned up nothing in the way of confirmation. What gives?

Hinji -> (door) hinge -> 蝶番 (choutsukai). The characters do literally mean 'butterfly keeper', probably because a hinge resembles a butterfly with two opening parts (wings).
