It looks nice, glad someone took this challenge. Can you make Hi-Def Phoenix wright sprites? Still, it looks good, but the face is kinda awkward.
What did you base it off?

Hm, i don't know, i never tried doing it before, isn't there the ios hd ones?

Oh! Maybe i'll try redrawing it when i have time. Thanks!

Nothing! Drew it from scratch. Referenced a lot from Phoenix's DS sprite though!

For being drawn from scratch, that's actually quite good. The face does look a little off, but other than that, it looks pretty good.

Hello people! I've been looking at many people creating their own AA style sprites in this forum, seems reallyy cool, and after much procrastination, i finally decided made my first attempt on a sprite. (There's really nothing much to see since i just started.) :will:

Phoenix AAI Style(I think so?) [More poses to come]

It looks good, it has good shading and color palettes. And in my opinion ( probably wrong ) it looks layton-ish. But i like the sprite since its a good scratch design but i share TheDoctor opinion with the face.

Gotta love lack of appropriate context.

I believe Mileswright was attempting to say that my opinion on the sprite's face was originally his opinion, as he posted that before I did.

Hahahaha, i think it's a little layton-ish too :godot:

I can't really tell what's wrong with the face though... I'll try making some adjustments to it. Thank you!

Added a new pose to Nick AAI style :phoenix: ! It's him adjusting his tie! Always wanted to make a sort of, confident pose for him.

Those are very good ! There's just a little detail that bugs me though : I think the arm in the second sprite looks a little bit too long.

Them Sprites look neat! I so wanted to see how Phoenix Wright looked like on AAI. Keep up the good work!

Just be sure to add the Talking and Blinking Animations. Lest, your sprites will look more like paintings. Okay? :pearl:

yeah, the arm is too long, but that's an easy edit, for the most part. In my opinion, the hard edits are stuff like facial features.

Don't Celebrate yet. You still need to make the talking animations of Mr. Sissel. :youngmia:

Also, let me guess something: He's a character from Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective. Am I right, or am I... Wright? :hobolaugh:

Hmm. I think just overall to get more of the AA style, downscale your colours, this will help give your sprites a more pixelated look. Also, make sure none of your lines are jet black. lines inside the sprite are normally a little lighter than the outer outlines. (e.g Sissel's mouth is a dark black)

Sorry if this is hard to understand. I'm not the best with criticisms. Your work structure wise I think is perfect for Sissel. (People have said Nick's arm is a bit too long, so you know that already too)

Since you're open to criticism, a couple of quick comments:

I like the sprites. Although because the plane they're drawn on seems to be tilted forwards, Phoenix loses some of his confidence and Sissel loses that tilted-back sass XD

When colouring in the shading of the skin, shift the hue very slightly toward red. That stops the weird paleness effect. Phoenix could use some more contrast between the shades of his clothes. Sissel's lapels are also uneven and Phoenix's suit pocket is on the wrong side... also it kind of doesn't look like a suit because there isn't actually a flap. And the light on Sissel's glasses doesn't match the direction of the light source.

Hope to see more work from you :)

Got it! That helped a lot! I do tend to tilt a lot when drawing  I can't really tell if there's anything wrong unless it's really obvious :sadshoe:

Thanks for the criticism! I'll work on the things you mentioned! I'll get better next time :godot:

Oh yes! That tilted back sass xD that is important :youngmia:

Definitely like his more laid back posture in this one! And the more saturated colours for the face work a lot better here as well! :basil:
Can I ask what program you use? If it's Photoshop, I can teach you some shortcuts to making your sprites look more pixelated.
