At least as a way to fill time, as I imagine AA6 would come out in 2015 or 2016.
Ghost Trick 2 would also be very much loved, as I've wanted a sequel for it since I finished the first game.

Not to be a Debbie Downer for the second time on this thread but after GBA, DS, cellphone, Wiiware, iPhone, I don't think the original trilogy needs to be ported AGAIN. Even despite new graphics. There's only so many times you can beat a dead (albeit wonderful) horse.

If anything they could remake GK1-2 since they haven't made a remake port for them. Plus doing that could give us GK2 localize.

Did Ghost Trick do well enough in sales to warrant a sequel? As much as I enjoyed it, I don't know if it has the same staying power AA has. Would be nice, though.

Well, it is Capcom. If there was a title for "king of ports/remakes", they would probably be top contender. If anything, they should at least make the first four games available on the 3DS/Wii U eShop for the new fans to get into. That would make the most sense.

I doubt it. First, they now have a an Engine that can produce 3D models meaning that they don't need to work from scratch. Second, while it was never confirmed I would not be surprised if the game was held back due to debate of whether or not to keep Apollo as the main character or to have Phoenix return (there were several people that wanted that). To add to that point, when they first showed the logo (months before the official reveal at TGS with the first trailer) it did not have the image of the main character at the time and that was included on every logo since the original game. The final logo, as we know, did include Wright in the end. Due to how well this game sold it does not appear that people have the same problem with the current character assortment. So, unless there is some other issues GS6 should come out sooner.

I am not sure if by any of these games you just mean the two games mentioned in the main article or were talking about PL vs AA as well. If it was the later, PW VS AA was announced for North America and Europe and should come out next year.

Sven talked about porting AA1-3 to the 3DS and it didn't sound like he had much support. I seriously doubt it will happen. However, the idea of porting GK1 and 2 to the 3DS is possible, at least in Japan, if they do decide to make GK3.
And I don't know how well Ghost Trick sold in Japan, but it didn't sell so well in the USA. Part of it was the DS was beginning to get phased out. I'm guessing its poor sales was a big reason why Capcom gave GK2 the red light in NA/EU.

The hint system and notepad were fantastic introductions and IMO should be the only places where users are given hints at what to do next. It bothers me that there were so many times that a seemingly difficult situation was made very simple because of the dialog right before presenting evidence. Again, the development team also needs to take the gimmicks they introduce to enhance gameplay (magatama, mood matrix, perceive, final thoughts, etc) much more seriously. This includes having US prompt for the gimmick (at least Apollo's perceive ability) instead of having it automatically used when needed.
Also, it's obvious Maya is returning for AA6. I love Maya and I'm all for it. But I don't like when PW games are littered with returning characters (primarily thinking of GK1 here). I think it's best to leave cameos like that for DLC cases, and only include characters that would logically make sense in a separate case (examples being Larry Butz, Lotta Hart, and Norma DePlume based on their history and/or profession). Klavier, Pearl and Edgeworth were all basically pointless to the overall plot in AA5.
I think it would be neat if they introduced a DLC case where Phoenix Wright is having a nightmare and has to deal with all of the people that have caused him grief. I'm sure the writers could think up fitting characters for a nightmare DLC but just the thought of having fan favourites return with any of them being potential killers would be exhilarating while still fulfilling the cameo quota. I'd personally love to see the return of Dahlia, Kristoph and more in that sort of scenario.

No, what I'm disappointed by is the fact that Gumshoe was just not here, not even mentionned like Maya, he was just not there, and Capcom loved to troll us with that fact in the credits. (When Edgey threatened somebody to have a salary cut, don't tell me you weren't disappointed when it turned out that Edgey was talking to Payne.)

That said, Edgeworth's role in GS5 was done just right. It may have been like a flashback to his attitude in GS2, but by this point, it's not like he needs to change much anyway.
I'm certainly more hyped for Takumi's work, but I have to feel sorry for the amount of pressure he's taking. I expect that I won't be disappointed with it, but after experiencing PLvsAA, I noticed how sudden the ending seemed to arrive, despite so much buildup of mystery. Meanwhile, imagining GK3 with 3D investigation makes me giddy, and the villain breakdowns are almost guaranteed to be impressive. (Keep a positive outlook... no matter how GK3 turns out...)

Nobody said Takumi was writing the next AA game; all we know is that the AAI/AA5 team is working on the next game. We don't even know if Takumi's next game is AA related, and at this moment I'm guessing not.

In fact, DD seems longer than the other games to me. The court chapters seem like twice as long as the ones in the first 4 games. Usually in GS1-3, on a normal (non-"boss"-fight day) you usually have to go through 3 cross-examinations, with other questions thrown in there at various points. It seems like often Dual Destinies puts 5 or 6 cross-examinations into each chapter.
However, the investigation does go a little faster than before, since you can't examine. I never use the notes and I go back to locations a lot so it's still taking me 1-2.5 hours for each investigation (compare that to GS1-4 3-5 hours I'd take on an investigation).
I used to have Sam Waterston as my avatar but photobucket added a watermark and also Law & Order has been cancelled for 10 years so it's time for me to move on.
