Coming out of the Jump Festa stage show: Athena will appear in Ace Attorney 6!
In addition, a demo of the investigation part was shown off confirming the return of free investigations.

The return of free investigations also bodes well, as now we can hope for plenty of hilarious optional dialogue to hunt down.
But the most intriguing tidbit is the Trucy Wright poster. Not just because it might mean having her as defendant or witness.
Well, maybe I'm overthinking it a bit.

IMO that needs some real dedication. They need to commit to that if and when they decide to pursue it because the right way to do it would involve advancing Apollo and Trucy's characters, which shouldn't be taken lightly.

That's a good point. The last thing we need is an unfocused story. That being said, I don't think it would be too much to ask for a hint of some kind.
Given the Lamiror reference in Turnabout Academy it's at least on their minds.

Now that it looks like that Trucy is also returning, I hope they make her model more accurate to the original sprites, in DD she wasn't as cute as in Apolo Justice IMO.

In all seriousness, while it's good to see Athena back (it would have been odd for them to just dump her after DD), I'm not really surprised, although I doubt she'll have as big a role in this game. The more exciting return is that of free investigations, which means that not only will we get more of the witty dialogue we all love so much, but also that the team are actually taking things on board and learning from mistakes in DD, which is encouraging.
As for the Trucy issue, I'm inclined to forget about it until more detail is revealed, but what Bolt says about her using the Gramayre name does worry me slightly, given that I don't want them to rush the reveal. That said, we don't know enough about Trucy's role in the game yet, so I'll hold off on making a decision about how I feel about this until more info is given to us.

I hope they'll at least tone her down a bit. Trucy being a defendant in the first case would be kind of a missed opportunity IMO. In all cases but case 1 the defendant is a real means to explore that character some more. I hope Trucy is defendant in case 2 or 3 so we at least get one case where we finally get to know what's been going on inside her head since AJAA.

Also, I wouldn't jump the gun with Trucy's poster. It could be there just for a one-off joke in optional dialogue, for all we know.

Hopefully penalties from messing up at the character gimmicks are back in this game, I imagine Mood Matrix would get pretty tense if it had some sort of penalty when messing up at it.

Thank goodness for that! I love DD but having those back will be great. (I'm sure I would have enjoyed Monstorus Turnabout more if you could examine some of the mad objects like that weird monster umbrella in the first scene)

As far as I know, tomorrow's Jump Festa is just an re-show of what's happened today, so no more new info unfortunately.
We'll probably get more info on later dates but I think that's all we'll get for now. Hoping more news comes soon (like early January because I'm impatient haha).

Me too. This is a bit of a downer. Even if I now know Athena's coming back that isn't really enough to satisfy by itself.

I think her backstory could've been handled a lot better but otherwise I like her as a character. I like her a lot more than Apollo, though I know that I'm in the minority of opinion about that on here.
