"I would also like to look around this place some more, but it seems all other doors are locked. The most logical thing to do right now is to go to our rooms and at least get familiar with them. We will be here for quite some time, after all." Saying that, Cesar walked into the hallway with his handbook, and looked at the doors until he found his room. He then proceeded to go in and close the door.

[Sakura's not here to say this, but the OP says that everyone entered through the big door on one side of the circular room. For now this is simply a 'normal' summer school - we all travelled to this facility by ordinary means and then entered through the entrance. There's nothing sinister just yet, barring the very strange layout of the school. And Monomi, to some degree.]

[If that's the case my bad. I re-read OP's first post and it didn't say anything about entering etc., and how it goes in every Danganronpa game is that they wake up in the school instead of physically entering, so I assumed it was the same here. I might have missed a post that explained that.]

As far as I'm aware, the story is different this time round, due to there not being an overarching mystery to it. The focus is on the killings themselves. Monomi pops up, looking distraught. “Oh, kids. I-I think it’s time for you to go to your rooms now.”

“We have a bedtime? Seriously?” Solomon rolls his eyes at the rabbit.

Monomi straightens up. It didn’t seem possible but the pink rabbit actually manages to pull off a serious glare. “Students, all of you need to go into your rooms and lock the door.”

“W-What’s going on?” Ryuji stammers the sentence out but tries to look composed. “What’s happening?”

The pressure in the air seemed to increase, a malevolent aura seething through everyone’s skin. “No, no. Not here, not a time like this.” Monomi crouched down and covered her head.

“That feeling…” Subaru’s eyes lit up. “Yes, the feeling of cold death is in the air.”

“Hello there, everyone!” A black and white bear appears out of nowhere. “Thank you for gathering all the students here for me, Monomi!” The bear grins, as if he wants to eat each student right there.

“B-Big Brother, you can’t do this again!”

“Shut up, Monomi! They don’t want their time wasted, after all, they don’t have much of it left.” He turns to the class. “I am Monokuma! Let’s cut to the chase, shall we? The one who built all the expansions to this school was me, the entrance door is locked, and all of you are now trapped here for the rest of your lives.”

“I can’t bear any of this anymore!” Slezak shouted, covering his ears.

“Quit fucking around!” Crimson shouted. “What do you mean we’re trapped here?”

“Stop panicking.” Cesar’s eyes were daggers directed at everyone in the room. “That’s exactly what he expects us to do. For now, the best course of action is to listen.”

“Thank you! Now then…” Monokuma says. “You’re of course not trapped here forever, I just want you guys to kill each other. Staying trapped here forever is sort of the...losing option.”

“We can get out of here, then?” Connie asked.

“Of course, let me explain! Also make sure to check your handbooks for the breakdown of the rules.”


Spoiler: Class Trial (Read)
Everybody is trapped in this school from now until the day they die. However, the only cost to win the game and escape is one life.

If you kill someone, you become the blackened. Your job isn’t done there, your next goal is to survive the class trial.

When someone dies, a class trial is held. The class then debates who they think the blackened is. Once 60% of the people are ready to vote, the trial ends. If the class gets the blackened correct, they’ll be punished. If the class gets the blackened incorrect, the blackened gets to escape and a random person in the class is punished. The one who received the most votes will be more likely to be killed than the rest.

Contrarily, the person who wins the most votes for “Class Trial MVP” will be safe from being killed if the blackened is chosen incorrectly.


Spoiler: Rules (Read)
1. Students may reside only within the school. Leaving campus is an unacceptable use of the time.
2. With minimal restrictions, you are free to explore Hope’s Peak Summer Academy at your discretion.
3. Violence against Monokuma is prohibited. Violence against Monomi is encouraged.
4. Anyone who kills a fellow student and becomes blackened will “graduate”, unless they are discovered.
5. A class trial begins shortly after a murder. All students must attend.
6. If the blackened is discovered, they alone will be executed.
7. If the blackened isn’t discovered, someone else will be executed.
8. Lending your handbook to another student is prohibited.
9. A guilty party can only kill a maximum of two people and only during Chapter 3.
10. More rules may be added if necessary.


Spoiler: Motive (Read)
“Y-You can’t be serious.” Sakura’s face is white. “Y-You’re asking us to kill each other?”

“Like hell we’d do that!” Flo was right behind her. “That’s...that’s uncivilized! That goes against the basic foundations of the society that we built!”
The other students nodded. Well, most of them at least. “I thought you guys might say that.” Monokuma smiled. “That’s why I’m going to give you some extra incentive.”

“Y-You can’t!” Monomi shouts.

Monokuma punches her away as if she were a fly. “Ahem. The one who kills someone first will be told the answer to the most important question in the world.”

“Excuse me?” Sayako said, face dumbfounded.

“What? There’s no way any of us could kill for something vague like that…” Charlie said, but her voice cut off when she was the faces of the people in the room. They were eyeing each other with apprehension.

“If we were to kill someone, how would we?” Cesar asked, tunneled in on the facts.

“What a perfect segway!” Monokuma smiled. “I couldn’t have written it better myself.” He takes his paw and opens Door 1.


Spoiler: Door 1(Read if you're considering being a killer)
The area looks...normal. It’s just a school. Looking around, the students find several rooms. Objects of interest in the general area include:

-Sprinklers
-Carbon monoxide detectors


Spoiler: Art Room(Read if you're considering being a killer)
There’s a large room with several stools but no tables. Lots of canvases are propped up in several areas, as well as some famous paintings hung on the wall.

Objects of interest include:
-A vast array of paint that can be generated from a machine. Monokuma claims it has over one million colors
-Clay
-A very large kiln
-A heavy duty paper cutter


Spoiler: Gym(Read if you're considering being a killer)
There’s a large gym, seeming to accommodate nearly any physical request one may ask for.

Objects of interest include:
-A typical free weight area with dumbbells, barbells, benches, etc.
-A running track
-A swimming pool
-Equipment and courts for basketball, baseball, soccer, volleyball, and tennis


Spoiler: Locked Classroom(Read if you're considering being a killer)
There’s an old rustic door, but it’s locked. Arthur peers through the large keyhole and claims to be able to see a metal key on the other side of the room. Matt then leaves and comes back with some screws and a taken part carbon monoxide detector. Van is slightly perturbed the safety hazard.

With seconds a powerful magnet is generated, sticking under the door. The iron key flies under the crack and into Matt’s hands. “You’re welcome.” He smiles.

The group unlocks the door but there’s not much. It’s just an old classroom with some hanging lightbulbs dimly lighting the area. Upon testing the lock, it seems the door can be locked from the inside and out

Objects of interest include:
-Ceiling fans
-Desks
-A strange looking pen on the teacher’s desk

Van picks up the pen to examine it but Monokuma shows up and grabs it out of his hand. “Yoink! Sorry, I shouldn’t have left that there.”

“What do you mean? What is that?”

“This? Have you ever seen the movie where those secret agents bust aliens? It’s the device they use to wipe the memories of any witnesses who may see something.”

“Hmph.” Arthur chortled. “That’s just a ridiculous film.”

“Well, this is real buddy! But not like I have anything to prove to you.” Monokuma swallows the device. “This is too OP, so I’m going to keep it for myself. End of discussion.”


Spoiler: Cafe(Read if you're considering being a killer)
A cafe is also inside, with Monomi at the counter. It seems to serve various breakfast items and drinks

Objects of interest include:
-Cooking utensils in the kitchen
-A gas stove


Spoiler: Basement(Read if you're considering being a killer)
A small door lead to the basement. It clearly hasn’t been maintained for a while and alternate light sources were needed to get through the dirty area and cobwebs. The stairs barely held the weight of someone so they needed to be climbed one at a time. Van didn’t risk it

Objects of interest include:
-Fuse box
-Water pipes
-Boiler


Spoiler: Maps (Read)
“That was kind of a lot.” Matt sighed. “I couldn’t keep track of any of it. Do you think you could add maps to our handbook?”

“Maps? Why don’t you map it out yourself, buster!” Monokuma shouts.

“Big Brother! You can’t even give them that much?” Monomi stands towards him, unwavering.

“Ugh, fine. But nothing too official, I’m going by memory.” He quickly scribbles on a handbook.

Main area and Door 0
Door 1

“Huh, what about the other areas?” Sayako was clearly displeased. “Like the specific rooms?”

“Oh those? I didn’t bother since they can change.” Monokuma said. “But I’ll make sure to give a map if one becomes a crime scene.”

“Change? I’ve never heard of shapeshifting buildings irl.” SiRReN seemed to start to stare off blankly.

“Ah, maybe I should explain then.”


Spoiler: Committing a Murder (Read if you're considering being a killer)
If you’d like to commit a murder, let Monokuma know of your plan. Your plan can utilize anything seen and more. The descriptions of the room were left deliberately vague because Monokuma has the power to change them as the murderer sees fit. A murderer could also request certain objects be in the room as long as their placement makes sense. Want a vent in a room? Sure

The murderer incurs risk if they want to change the layout of the room or add an object: everybody in the class will know of the room’s layout for a trial, and they will know of any objects that are important to the case, including the added ones. The murderer can only add objects if they are critical to his plan. He can’t add a bunch of objects just for the sake of throwing the class off so they can’t figure out which object was important.

Once the murderer has a plan that he has submitted to Monokuma and if his requests are met, his plan will be taken into action and a class trial will begin. If Monokuma gets sent several murder plans, he’ll choose his favorite.

"Oh my." SiRReN shivered where she stood, having been drawn out of her bedroom when the strange voice of Monokuma began echoing through the halls. She looked nervously at all the other students gathered in the central main room.

"No one is seriously considering giving in to his demands....right?" she asked the group.

Sakura is at a loss for words after all the rooms have been explored and the students have gathered to discuss matters. "Er, this guy's crazy." She finally manages to say. "Um, but, we don't have anything to worry about, right? I mean, even if he traps us here people are bound to notice we've gone missing... So, um, let's not take him seriously..." She trails off, too shocked to really give any more useful commentary than that.

"Hm..." Subaru rubbed his chin, and then addressed Monokumu, his voice eerily calm. "Let us say a student survives till the very end without killing or being killed. If they were the only one standing, do they graduate? Or if they were two, can they both graduate or must one kill another? In simpler terms, can the game end?"

Sakura felt a brief flash of hope at the statement - it was possible to escape without having to kill anyone! But then she realised that would only happen when there had already been a number of murders. That wasn't something to be happy about.

"What happens if no-one ever tries to kill anyone?" She asks defiantly. "Maybe no-one cares about your stupid answer to whatever this 'important question' is!"
