Jonas took another bite as he turned to the masked boy and commented, "Hm, I do not know what you are talking about. These plums are fi-" His sentence was interrupted by a rather intense coughing fit. He used his hand to cover his mouth, and when he pulled it away, he discovered it was dotted with spatters of red. Without another word, he rushed out of Town Hall and dashed to his house.

A lone solitary squeak emits from the glass André is cleaning as he looks upon the fantastic breakfast buffet he had prepared for Cooper and Esther.

"Hm? Ah, yes, I am fine now. Just swallowed a bit of plum too fast is all," Jonas replied, now realizing how someone could mistake the plum juice for blood. "Forsythia was offering some from her garden. Oh dear, I hope I did not worry anyone too much." He said the last part more to himself, noticing Cooper seemed like he wanted to end the conversation as quickly as possible. He didn't even bother to protest the fact that Cooper had left Esther by herself, possibly in danger. Instead, he simply concluded, "Good day, Cooper."

He thought to go after Esther himself, but he was worried about putting himself in danger as well. Even after he decided to trust the bounty hunter, that fear never left him.

As another day ends, the residents of Moonview all retire to their homes. However, tonight was a different night. For as everyone could see through their windows, the sky above the town had once more turned a haunting shade of crimson....the Blood Moon had arrived.

The morning after the blood moon, everyone gathers once more in the town square.

Except...not everyone is there. Jonas and William are the only ones to not show up to the morning gathering. The town members decide to have one group check on Jonas while another group pays a visit to William.

What both groups discovered is equally horrifying. After breaking down the door of house #8, the town members find the lifeless body of Jonas, whose green skin and black blood stains seem to suggest he had suffered the same fate as the late Mayor. A few of the town members also seem to notice some of Jonas' strange belongings: brass gloves, swords, pistols, shields...Why did he own these?

At house #9 they find the bloody corpse of William laying in the entryway, who seems to have had been shot in the chest. Some of the other residents also find some strange vials and books written in a strange language none of them recognize, full of mysterious glyphs and runes.

The black book on the podium seems to have something new written in its pages:

Jonas Taylor, the Bodyguard, died in the night. He was attacked by a member of the Coven. Jonas was an honorable man who fought for what he thought was right, and came to Moonview in hopes of finding something that could cure his ill wife...the residents of Moonview will surely miss him.

William Whiteford, the Incubus, died last night. He was attacked by someone who was loyal to the Town. Although a member of the Coven, William was always fascinated by mortals, and kept on trying to change the way the Coven was ran...If only he he stuck around long enough.

"I can't believe it..." Avis murmured, reading the pages of the book over and over again. "This coven...it can't possibly exist...can it?"

She stepped back, vigorously shaking her head. "No...no I'm just...tired. That's it." It was true; from her appearance, it was clear that she hadn't gotten much sleep for several days, probably since they first arrived in Moonview. Avis tried her best to shake off the sleep as she ran back to Jonas and William's homes to investigate further.

Xander stood there, mouth agape at seeing the two corpses. Tears welled up in his eyes, which he quickly wiped away. As he tried to find what to say, the words could not come out. "No... N-No..." was all he managed to speak.

The boy stepped away from the houses and took a few minutes to calm himself down. Once that time passed, he stepped back up to the houses, and while his breathing was shaky, he appeared to be calmed down... somewhat. "I-I suppose we should search for evidence once more, then?"

Esther stared at Jonas's body for a minute, as if in a trance, before finally kneeling next to him. She gingerly lifted his hand with her gloved one and turned it over.

"He . . . he was not injured, I think," she said, her voice sounding quiet and frail. "No cuts or tears on his clothes, at least not - not where we can see. Although, the way he's - twisted like that, and his mouth is open, and his eyes are - . . ." She tried and failed to choke back a sob. "H-he must have died in - in agony."

Esther looked around, her eyes shining with tears and bright with anguish. "Who would do this? Who - who did this?" she cried out.

"Two dead this time? What's going on in this town?" Pétur muttered angrily. He kept his distance from the others, even Esther. "One shot, and the other just like the late mayor... Yet despite Jonas's terrible condition, William's death is the more interesting here. Firstly, clearly he was shot, which is very unlike the other murders. Someone else was responsible for that. Normally I'd say that was something more to worry about, but... well, that's the second point. William was 'the Incubus'? A member of the Coven? I want to dismiss it as nonsense but after all that's happened... well. We can't be too careful. Maybe this mysterious gunman had the right idea."

Cooper takes his hat off in respect for Jonas. When he comes to William's body, he picks it up and drags it to his house, leaving it by the doorstep. He then ties him near the front door, presumably so nobody can steal the corpse.

"Witches. Well I'll be..." He sighs but doesn't seem to take much else from this otherworldly magnitude of a revelation.

"First things first. If anybody here ever sent a letter to Jonas or received one from him, speak up. You're not in trouble. Promise." His devious smile suggested otherwise but his words did seem genuine.

André stumbles through the town staggering towards the others with none of his usual grace.

"Ugh...my head" he groaned uttering cursed under his breath as he walked in a stupor right past the body of William "What happened last night..." He groaned trying to peek past the others to see through the door.

"Jonas and William were killed. Jonas was killed by witches and William was a witch but was killed by one of us." He stated all of it as if it were normal but his voice grew more and more grim. "Well... Not necessarily. I suppose the one who killed William could just be a third faction whose goal is to kill as many of us as he can."

Andre's face was crestfallen as he looked at Jonas "My friend...this was not the fate you deserved" he bowed low to the body of Jonas before turning and looking out at the other body of William.

A passionate look of anger came over Andre's powdered face as he took some long strides out of the house to Williams body and promptly spat on it hurling foreign curses as he did so

Turning back to then others André raised a shaking hand to his lips and lit another cigarette taking a long puff in the cold morning air he just stood and stared at the body in silence.

Eventually, Avis left her search of the homes and returned to the group. At Pètur's remark, she shook her head. "No, I did not kill William. Although had I known at the time he was an incubus or whatever this note claims him to be, I surely would have. And I didn't hear any knocks on my door either."
