Like Pearls, I too am an Ace Attorney fangirl with a fiancé.

Also like Pearls, I have on several occasions lamented the lack of official goods for the series available in the US (the scalper's best friend, preorder bonuses, do not count).

Knowing I was disappointed by the just-over-thumb-sized plushie keychain Capcom gave out as a bonus for AA3, he made a bigger plushie.

I know it's not perfect, but it's so soft... :edgy:

Yes we do. :b33r:

Materials cost - $25
Time spent on plushie - 10 hours over 2 weeks

and so I have my very own :phoenix:

Don - I look forward to seeing Godot immortalized in plush one of these days... though I'm sure Turnabout Puppet Theatre would be a hit here too. :godot:

That's really cute! I love his expression!
Do you know what your fiancé used to draw the face on with? Been wondering if I should use fabric marker or paint?

I'm working on a Matt plushie right now, I'll post some pictures when it's done. :matt:

The objection expression was drawn with acrylic paint with a clear coat put on first.

Fabric paint might work just as well.

Another method of plushie expression is with those iron-on sheets. Just draw on the computer, print onto the sheets, and apply some irony goodness.

Sewing on pieces of felt in the right shapes and colors works well for me (it helps to have the right colors of thread, too, but I'm too lazy for that :P), as it's good at staying and doesn't detract from the softness. Felt works better than other kinds of fabric for this because you don't have to fold all the edges in for it to not get all fringe-y at the edges.

Your Phoenix plushie does look very soft... I want one that looks like a bigger version of the keychain (although I do like the keychain because it's cute and travels on my jacket zipper). I should make that... problem is, it's kinda hard to shop for the right amounts of the right colors of fabric when you have no pattern (I've made stuff without patterns. They still turned out very well, aside from my Aqua Teens having gray/smearing pupils because I drew them with a marker, and Shake in particular somehow having his stuffing migrate away from one side... I don't know how that happened, but I'll have to fix it one of these days, but that has nothing to do with the lack of a pattern, just the lack of stuffing that can stay the way it's supposed to).

Don't get me wrong, the keychain is great -- makes a nice cubicle decoration. If I have a really nerve-wracking time at work, I can just pull mini-Nick off the wall and shout OBJECTION!.

Not sure what type of fabric the suit is made of... or the tie...

The body is made of a type of nylon.

The hair and shoes are felt.

I suppose I could ask about the materials...

Yes, we need official Ace Attorney character plushies in the style of the ones done by Great Eastern for different anime, or like Irwin did for Sailor Moon way back when. UFO-catcher style.

Until then, I have my :phoenix: pillow thing.

I actually was/am working on an Edgeworth UFO-style plushie, but prototype 1 didn't turn out too well. I'll have to hit the sewing machine again later. Edgeworth's hair and his foofy bangs in particular have me stumped as well.

That reeks of greatness. Capcom could learn a few things from you. *stares and shakes his head in dissapointment at plushie*

Plushie Phoenix in: Buy My Book!

...so I did. :phoenix:
