Jade was born a few months before the DL-6 incident, Mile's and Jade's mother worked abroad and wasn't able to care for children in her current job, thus once Jade was born she was taken to her father, Gregory Edgeworth.
Once DL-6 was other, Jade was taken with Miles by Manfred Von Karma, considered to be a good subject for perfection.
Jade grew up with Franziska, Miles and Manfred, learning what Manfred was teaching them, even though she really didn't like alot of his vile ways and at one point refused to learn them. Although this had earned her to be dangled by a pole for 3 hours off the top of a 15 story building, causing her to have a deathly fear of heights at the age of 8.
She lived with the Von Karma's until she was 10 when she was taken away from them by her brother to move to America, which was for the best due to Jade detesting Manfred for the OCD that he had layed upon them all. Although she felt sorry for leaving Franziska alone with him.

When she was 11 Miles discovered she could point out loopholes in witnesses' testimonies and lies, so she was taken into the courtroom at the age of 12 to help out her brother, and when she was 14 she became a prosecutor herself.

The hidden:
When Jade first met the new chief of police, Damon Gant, at the age of 10 he had taken a rather big liking to her. After a while, Jade began to become friends with the chief, but soon found out what his alterer motive was... To raise her as a sort of, Heir to his legacy.
Jade has been raped by him since she was 10, slowly messing with her mind, and at the age of 13 she was taught to 'Fish', Gant's word for rape, and soon was raping under Gant's eye and getting away with it.
Throughout all of this her brother turned the blind eye, and Gumshoe who had been trying to tell him what was happening to his little sister was shunned off with 'The chief would never do that.'
After a few years Jade started to feel for 'Uncle Gant' as he wanted her to call him, but would never tell him, fearing what he would do.

7 years later: (Kind of AU since Gant was never caught or the murder for Bruce Goodman, and it was blamed on someone else, not Lana or Ema.)
At the age of 22, Gant's influence had taken over Jade. She had become somewhat like Gant in every way, yet she still remained an Edgeworth.
She would rape free willingly And under the control of Damon Gant, using her boobs to get herself out of it and blame it on the victim instead, and with the help of Gant they would both get Scott free from everyone who dared to take them to court. Jade's fashion sense changed too, by the age of 18 Jade was starting to take on Gant's colours and wearing gloves All the time. For rule number four was 'Never leave fingerprints.'
She still prosecutes and lives up to her brother's name and still always wears a cravat, and sometimes will remove her tinted glasses for her monocle once again.

Name: Pie Alaura LaMode
Puns: Main pun obviously is pie a la mode. But I like my puns in layers, so I've hid more in there - her first name supposedly comes from the noisy and unlucky magpie, but if I ever get cracking on Turnabout Fairytale, pieridae might start seeming more appropriate. Her middle name is for laurels. And the meaning behind her last name... that's a secret, for now.
Age: ~20. Usually say it's 19, but I'm tweaking her character currently. (Oh, these notes are just gonna make this profile longer...) Comes across as older, around 25 or so.
Occupation: Varies; she's a renaissance woman. Dream job is that of a musician, author, or other sort of storyteller. Has been seen editing databases and running her own restaurant, Café À La Mode.
Description: Dark green eyes and a soft shade of purple for her hair. Her outfit can vary, but usually she's wearing a dark green jacket over a tan shirt, hot little brown trousers with a belt, and large black boots with gold buttons. One of my major questions about her design right now is whether or not she should have giant butterfly wings (I know, this shouldn't be as hard a question as it seems), so for now it's a matter of personal taste. Often wears a necklace with a jade pendant. Her other accessories are usually gold, but she'll wear silver if it looks better. She's very fond of formal wear, including pretty dresses.
Pie looks and acts a lot older than her actual age, and thus often becomes the 'big sister' of any group even when she's the youngest one around. She is perhaps too fond of helping others, doing everything from giving advice to putting herself in physical danger to protect someone else. In fact, her former dream was to become a knight, but even after studying to become such and working her way into a royal court, she failed to fulfill the physical requirements to join the royal knights. (And then there was a big mess that I'd tell you about, but that's Turnabout Fairytale.) Her largest motivators in life - besides just living - are "making herself useful" and seeing other people feeling their best. Unfortunately, due to her intensity and temper and tendancy to treat things like SERIOUS BUSINESS, as well as how she wants to view herself, she can come across as a strict prude or an angry grump; it's not hard to see, though, that no matter how sour she may seem, she's very sweet at heart.
Some of her favorite things in life are hot men, good music, fancy silks and ribbons, citrus fruits and dark chocolate. She usually wears the signet ring of Ardor Palace on one pinkie, and a little ribbon of wild silk on the other if she's trying not to forget something. She has a nervous twitch in her hands which can spread to her entire body under very extreme levels of stress. She's usually symbolized by a butterfly or moth, though other times she's been represented by a magpie, laurels, a dragon or Capricorn. Her elements are earth and fire, and some other character who was a fortune teller type with a tarot deck said her card was the queen of rods. She, much like her creator, cannot seem to settle on a single symbol, goddamn it.
Backstory: Okay, lemme see if I can make this shorter than the Description.
When young, Pie was a studious little girl who wanted to be the center of attention. Which she was... with her family. Her popularity with other people back then was not quite so good, and so she embraced the image of being the Enemy. Which got her plenty of attention but didn't win her many friends. Which was okay, so long as she had her family, right? But then that became a problem when Pie's family started getting divided and too busy. Oops. So to avoid going crazy, Pie decided to reform herself. And it just so happened that a frend was going overseas to study Somewhere In Europe (probably a fantasy country just south of Borginia, you know how it is) at a place called Ardor Palace. So she tagged along, and eventually decided she was going to get dual-citizenship and stay there and study to become a knight. She did well with studying etiquette, but other than a major crush on the captain of the knights, Sir Tiergan Conner, she wasn't getting much out of her knight training. After a few years, she was granted the title of Lady, bringing her officially into the royal court, and simultaneously had her heart broken by Sir Conner and was kicked unceremoniously out of the knights-in-training.
Around here is where I generally insert Turnabout Fairytale, wherein a senior royal guard named Harold Thistle is shot, the crown is blown up, and with no other suspects Pie comes a lot closer to the executioner's blade than she'd ever like to be, thankyouverymuch. In the current RP I'm in, there's been a long delay in which Pie was never tried due to lack of evidence, and allowed to return home after making a deal with the royal family - meaning this can and will happen at any time in the near future. Muahaha.
But - post-trial - assuming Pie gets her fairy butt saved by a good defense attorney, after this Pie says "screw that, I've had enough of this place" to the palace and heads back to America to find what someone with the heart of the knight and the title of a lady can do to make her way in the world.
