Oh sure, Novice and Standard Mode are jokes. But Expert is when they get tough and Master Mode is a nightmare. Also, attaining everything is close to impossible since Story Mode is incredibly tough. Make one teeny tiny mistake in any of the chapters, and you might as well just restart.

Image
Normal mode is hard enough as it is but to attain everything, you must complete it without dying ONCE and killing every enemy that doesn't respawn. No wonder the Main Menu's background says "For Deep Action Gamers".

That reminds me of those Taihou games. Those I will watch and never ever play(beside that I have no idea how to get one anyway)

I'm a total n00b when it comes to alot of games, but I do tend to pick up certain skills from them (I'll never actually use it in real life, but still...)
TRAUMA CENTER: SECOND OPINION = win. I have only played a little of Under the Knife and I SUCK at the DS version since I can't even beat the thrombi level right now. The only reason I've been able to play it is because my friend has the game (but I'm still saving up for it, I splurged on Apollo Justice not too long ago hehe). DEFTERA MUST DIE!!!! I beat the X-missions but the Deftera one screwed me up badly. It was by a stroke of luck I passed (and as Naomi). Triti was my mortal enemy, but after I started getting used to the pattern it wasn't so bad. I've been leaving Trauma Center lately to play Brawl, so when I went back to it the other day I sucked... yet I beat the bomb level on hard for the first time. Needless to say, I was sweating bullets the whole time, and I chickened out at the end by using my HT although I could've done it without it.

FF X-2 oh god. Man this game ticked me off. I really wanted to get 100% but getting through the Via Infinito is freakin hard! I gave up before I even reached the 50 mark. I had 93% of the game complete, too.

SSB MELEE grr, I kept dying in that event match against Giga-Bowser and some other random opponents, only to feel shameful when I witnessed my cousin beat it using Jigglypuff. Oh, the inhumanity...

I think "Cowboys From Hell" and "Bark At The Moon" on Guitar Hero can go die in a fire. Hard-as-hell hammer-on/pull-off system, what appears to be a straight up blizzard of randomly placed notes, power chords like you wouldn't believe, and crazy riffs. I just barely passed both on Medium difficulty.

Not saying Guitar Hero...-- On second thought, Guitar Hero actually gave me a lot of trouble.

Arcana heart. I suck. The opponent guards goddamn too much and they do it better. back arrow is a stupid button to use as a guard. It just make me walk backwards away from the enemy and yet when the enemy does it they stay still ><. Even on easy it feel like normal mode.

Oh god, the original DS one has got to be one of the most adrenaline filled games ever. During that one part..

Spoiler: Trauma Center 1 spoilers
Where Angie (I think that was her name..)'s dad has the parasite in him and you need to take it out, I can't even remember what I was doing when I passed that. You needed to do everything so quick and precise, it was insane. I never passed the part with all the sick babies, that was just crazy.

Oh God, that part is so hard. Still haven't passed it. I seriously almost passed out playing that one night. I was covered in sweat and so tired, but I had to finish!

Spoiler:
I can't pass the baby with Triti. I suck at treating that strain of GUILT.

Cloud, Tyrian's final boss of Chapter 5 is easy. All you have to do is stand to the side and shoot. That's it.

Now, if you mean Chapter 3, it had a hard final level, but the final boss was cake.

If you have Tyrian 2000, Chapter 5 is the last chapter, but if you have the original, then it's Chapter 3.

My game... Gundam Wing: Endless Duel for the SNES. All of the fighters were easy to beat. But once the Epyon came up to fight you, he proved to be at least 50 times harder. I don't know HOW many times I lost before I won using the Mercurius SOMEHOW. That is one of the hardest final bosses I've EVER faced.

... But he has one of the coolest final boss themes ever. *listening to it right now*

:edgy: EVERY GAME OF THE SERIES IS LIKE THAT.

But in the last game...

Spoiler:
You must collect 22 out of 33 hidden rings to face the same final boss from the 1st game. And to get to the REAL final boss you must find ALL OF THEM.

I'm still very fond of those games. :gant:

A new one for me is Incredible Crisis. Game doesn't seem that hard but the controls are >< so unresponsive. It a lot worst with the second character's second chapter.

The SNES in general.

I'd have to say it's tied between Plok and Indiana Jones' Greatest Adventures.

Plok: AAAAARGH NO PASSWORDS/SAVES AND INSENSIBLE CONTINUE SYSTEM EFF YOU
Indiana Jones: AAAAARGH HOLY CHRIST THIS DIDN'T LOOK SO HARD IN THE MOVIE OH SHIT AUTOSCROLL LEVEL SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT EFF YOU CAIRO

Coincidentally I've just started replaying Indiana Jones. Suddenly I remember why I always played my games on Easy.

Spelunker.

Yeah, Spelunker for the NES. You fall 2/3 of your own height (that's LESS that your own height!) and you die. You don't even have to hit the ground! Just fall 2/3 of your height! Now, if they had A. a health bar, or B. taken out this problem, or even better, C. both, it could EASILY be one of the best games on the NES! I HATE games that could've been good if it weren't for a MAJOR flaw! Spelunker is so HARD with that flaw! Having to constantly jam your finger on the D-pad to make sure you grab the chain=HARD. If you don't grab the chain, you DIE.

At least the lead-up to it was funny. She's about to tell her life story and the game automatically hits a "fast forward" button. XD

The 80's version of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy that you can download of the internet. I keep panicking, and then I die. Or everything goes dark.

And the bit in Luigi's Mansion (I had a Gamecube before a Wii) where you have to fight loads of ghosts.
