Though a few fans argue that Xenogears had the best. Either way, Yasunori Mitsuda composed them. Aaaah, he's such a god when it comes to music *swoons*

I have to admit that Okami's soundtrack was pretty good but in a way, Shadow Hearts Covenant had better music when it came to the oriental feel. Random, but that reminds me, I wonder why Shadow Hearts never became that popular of a game.

Oh, I suggest you do so immediately. It's a real classic among RPGs and one of Squaresoft's better games. In all honesty, I like it so much more than their Final Fantasy series. The opening video alone gives me chills > u <
I wouldn't really know. I never got to play Xenogears. I did hear it was a good game though. It has a small but strong fanbase. I kind of want to play it myself.

Guild Wars: a large portion of the soundtrack of all the games up to now. Not much to say here, Jeremy Soule did a great job again. I say again because...
Total Annihilation: ...it turned out this game was why something sounded familiar. He did the music for this game too, and it was also a great game. The music can be very powerful as well as give you the feeling you're on a deserted planet.
Diablo & Diablo II: I have fond childhood memories of the first Diablo, well actually, they are sometimes a bit scary, seeing as how young I was back then. The music in Tristram gets the atmosphere just right, and the music in the dungeons can be creepy as hell. A few of the tracks of Diablo II brought back that feeling of nostalgia.
Metroid: I like most of it. Again really atmospheric, if you know what I mean.
Fire Emblem 7 & 8: These games had a very good soundtrack, I think the music fits the stories really well. Sadly these are the only FE games I've played.
Castlevania: I've played Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin, and I was actually listening to the music of Dawn of Sorrow before I got the game
The music doesn't get stale and goes perfectly with killing the monsters in the castle.Tetris: I really don't know why I have these on my mp3-player, but... it was the first game I ever got (for the gameboy) and so again it's nostalgia.
Super Mario Land: I get kinda emotional just hearing the ending theme. I even finished the game again yesterday to bring back some of those good memories from the second game I got from my parents back then.
The Legend of Zelda: I can say I'm not a LoZ fan, I've played Windwaker and Phantom Hourglass but never found the motivation to finish them. The music I came across (actually a friend recommended it) that I liked where the Lost Woods theme and Gerudo Valley from Ocarina and Dragonroost Island from Windwaker. So catchy
Pokémon: various themes from the scala of Pokémon games that I've played. Some examples: The Road from Mt. Moon to Cerulean, the Rocket Hideout, the Ending theme, Slateport city and Mount Chimney.
Resident Evil 4: The only RE game I've ever played, I liked it a lot. Although the music is not really fun to listen to (as it's meant to unease you :p) I like to imagine Leon killing enemies while listening to it. Also the ending music was surprisingly emotinal for me and the credits added quite another aspect of the story in my opinion, how the villagers really just used to be normal people.
Ouendan 1 & 2 and Elite Beat Agents: Not sure if this qualifies as game music, as it wasn't made specifically for that purpose, but I've fallen in love with the games and it's hard not to love some of the music then too.
And then there's of course the Ace Attorney series. I have mainly mp3's from the Orchestra and Cadenza albums. The exceptions are Fragrance of Dark Coffee from the Jazz album and Jake Marshall's theme from the game itself.
That's all of it. If you think differently about one of these soundtracks, I'd like to hear it.

The only other soundtracks that I've bought from videogames are the Skies of Arcadia OST, all of the Xenosaga soundtracks (I, II & III.) and the Orange Box. (Portal, Half-Life 2 & Team Fortress music.) ^_^

As much as I love PW, I listened to them WAYYY too much.

-Guilty Gear series (actually, almost anything Daisuke Ishiwatari did, because BlazBlue sounds like it might have a decent soundtrack too)
-Final Fantasy series (alla them... the OSTs are awesome)

The bonus tournament battles in Tales of symphonia had really good music.(against Zelos' sister and the past Tales chars)
As I've put it on every "your favourite" thing here, F-zero Gx also has some of my favourite music, although there are some really terrible tunes there.
Although I don't own the game yet, the smash bros brawl soundtrack seems amazing.
I would probably say WoW's music as well, but the amount of times it plays in the game means you soon learn to ignore or just forget it.
Oh and sonic 3's Michael Jackson inspired/created soundtrack
