I only think otherwise if the next AP came out on the Wii. Then I think that the game should definetly us voice acting just like trauma center: New Blood for the Wii also.
...Anyway, would you rather have voice overs with shorter gameplay, or the ones they have now?

I don't think the DS cards are "full" by any stretch of the imagination. The first 3 games fit on a GBA game, and except for the added case in PW: AA, pretty much nothing was added to them.
The AJ game "disapointed me" because of that. I mean, I still liked it, but it still had only 4 cases, they were short, and it seemed less DS-oriented than 1-5. I'm pretty sure they still have room.
But as people said, with ALL the text there is, that's way too much. Plus, do you really want to hear the same thing over and over again during cross-examinations?
I'd say, voices in cut-scenes: the introductions to the case, maybe (although you don't want it to reveal too much), and other cut scenes within the case. Also, I would agree on the "make minor characters "objection"s and "hold it!"s voiced as well".
I'm not sure if all of it being voiced would work because there are so many characters, though. But if they could pull it, I know I'd love it. Most point&click adventure games, or RPGs now have voice acting, despite the number of lines and characters, so I think it would be possible. And I've been pretty disapointed by the fact Nintendo has so little voice acting, be it in DS games or Wii games.
I'd like having the option to have it be in Japanese, at any rate (I doubt they'd make a specific one in French, as most voiced games end up here with the option of Japanese or English voices, with French subtitles)

Actually, there isn't way too much. It has as much as any other visual novel.
They could also just have them say it once during the testimony and when you cross examine them they could turn the voices off.
It's not that difficult, but as I said before, this would be more suited if they made a PC version.

What these two said, they've got the right idea, trust me. There would be many flaws with having voice acting in the next game. And we all know that many, many gamers would complain about the poor voice acting (even if it was good voice acting; gamers still like to complain) and then Capcom would have to decide whether to fill the whole game's text with voice acting or just certain bits. If they did it all, it would be hard, taxing and difficult in many, many ways. But if they didn't do it all, gamers would complain.
Basically, I think the AA series is fine as it is in that sense, and will still prove to be just as popular without voice acting.

I feel it's so much better to imagine how each character talks yourself. Putting a voice to a character can feel wrong after you've got a voice you've set to them.

yar it is true, I was pretty annoyed and sort of shocked when I heard Edgeworth's hold it and take that sounds, the less voices the better,however the idea that someone wrote earlier in this topic about when a non-attourney says hold it or something having a voice is a good one in my opinion.

THE DS CARD CAN HANDLE VOICES. We established that already. However, it wouldn't be as good of a game, since the game will have to go at the pace of the voice. Also, it doesn't need to be on a console. A handheld is just fine, thank you very much.

The series does not have consistent voice actors.
For the most part, the short audio clips we hear in-game ("OBJECTION!" etc...) are the Capcom staff members, in both the English and Japanese sides of the company. (not quite sure what the European or other country localizations do) Most of these people probably do not have much experience in acting out lengthy scenes.
Secondly, let's now look at the Japanese trailers/promos with full-length voice acting and speech. In these videos the staff are NOT the ones portraying the characters; these are people with actual experience. (I heard Apollo in the GS4 trailer was played by a singer; wtf) This is already a problem if they want to really keep the "staff will voice" tradition but are not willing to voice for the longer videos. And, if you compare a few them, some recurring characters do not have the same voice actor each time as well. Phoenix for example. That is definitely not the same guy playing him for the GS4 trailer from the original trilogy's videos.

Unless they provided voice acting on the movie or intro parts, especially now that they started making use of video clips on AJ through ActImagine, I think it wouldn't hurt if Lamiroir actually sang her parts on The Guitar's Serenade videotape, or at least Phoenix and Zak actually saying stuff to each other at the beginning of 4-1 and some parts on 4-4.
Last time I checked, the entirety of an Ace Attorney game had never been higher than 60 MB, and a DS card could actually hold up to 2 GB, so I really think that a little voice acting wouldn't hurt.
I get tired easily.

Lol somehow I agree with this comment. Sometimes, when I hear them shout Objection or Hold It, I focus then try to imitate their voice and imagine if they would actually speak like that in an anime or something.

But in our minds, we all have ideas of who would made great voice actors, and it sometimes kills our dreams that it's not voice acted. For example: Kirk Thornton as Kristoph would rock. But I suppose we should just play the waiting game..or the imagination game

Voice-acting in GS5?Well, if anything, adding voices to the various "Hold it!"s and such would be nice. For example, if Trucy shouted "Hold it!", perhaps they could give her a voice to go along with it instead of the standard "Shing!" sound effect.
Otherwise, VA doesn't really appeal because a lot of the drama and suspense comes from the use of the soundtrack, not VA.
