I'd like to be a (beta)tester, like it was said, the other case maker does have few bugs.

Don't worry. I hope there'll be few bugs to squash anyway. Important news, everyone. I'm going on holiday with my girlfriend and her family for four days tomorrow. I won't be able to spend too much time online, but as she has to revise a couple of hours every day I can use that time to come online.

Edit: Wow, startled me LinkV. Sure, you can test. Do you use any form of IM?

Eh, may as well sign up for the beta test. I've got some experience in this area.

I'll add you on MSN.

Case Creator + RPG Maker XP style design and organisation = definate intriguement. I am a more modern day RPG Maker user (you should try out the RMXP demo sometime, it's definatly a neat program, especially with the addition of an optional scripting language), and I can say that your presentation resembles that of RPG Maker in terms of organisation and apparent simplicity. ^^

Let's see if the religion deserves it's preaching*, I too would like to become a beta tester for this. I run Windows XP with a GeForce 7 series graphics card. I won't be able to start on the weekend as my computer is getting redone with (hopefully) some more RAM and a reinstallation.

Boltstorm: Sure, it's great to have varying experience with all my testers. After all, I need to know if somebody with little experience of Windows finds it easy as opposed to somebody who's very familiar with any kind of program.

So, I've got plenty of experienced testers now. If anybody feels they're not very proficient with Windows or computers at all, they're still very welcome.

SailorTaurus: Yeah, you can be a beta tester. Phoenix Thanks for the comments. I didn't know it resembled RPG Maker so much, especially considering that screenshot is so incomplete. I'll give RPG Maker XP a go and see what its interface offers. And oh, following my religion has its advantages. Gymshoe Full keyboard insurance if you lose your temper*. Glad to have another tester - please add me on Messenger or Skype.

p.s. Don't worry about the dates. I'm away for a few days and I'll only be showing footage for now. I don't like releasing incomplete work so the actual beta test may be a while off - unless I rush. I won't. Gant

Well, to save you some time, here are the resemblances I can muster:

1. In RPG Maker, all major aspects of the game are sorted into tabs, such as Heroes, Monsters, Weapons, Attacks, System (title screen and game over, etc), all with their own options, similar to how you've organised your maker's main sections.

Well, that's really all I can muster. xD
But trust me, taking references from pre-existing programs (heck, I see the whole 'windows within windows' thing from MMF2 made it there) is a good way to learn about what works best.

Oh, a question, will we be able to replace the Objection/Hold It/Take That animations with our own? And will we be able to add news ones (like Odokori's "RIGHT THERE!")?

Hmm, I didn't consider that feature you mentioned at the bottom, but thanks for mentioning it. I'll certainly implement it. Also, that's only the data management window. It's for dealing with all custom data (images, sound, etc.), though I'm sure you figured that out. There'll be many 'child'* windows though for dealing with different things, like the courtroom, cutscenes, and the simple method of programming, just to name a few.

I strongly encourage any suggestions. They'll help make Phoenix Write a great program. I hate to ask this again, but do you use Skype/MSN?

*Whenever I say child window, it's a technical term for one of the smaller windows inside the main window. The main window is the parent.

Things I am looking forward to for this case creation program:

- Easy/Simple to use scripting.
- Investigation system.
- Testimoney/Cross-Examination process.
- Option to select Exclamation '!' or '[_Bar_]' pentalty system.
- Able to import own custom characters/backgrounds, and scrolling scenary.
- Able to select more than one evidence.
- Psyche-Lock feature (?)
- Able to create small questions with a 'yes' or no', or a multiple choice answer.
- Case select screen & unlock cases, ala Phoenix Wright style. (other words combine 5 or 10 fan cases into one game).

Good luck with your version. Mechabowser's case maer isn't satisfying me for the time being, until he has made all the other features for his case maker.

There's also the fact that even though it may have bugs, we're getting it early because we test. So therefore all testers have a headstart on the competition.

That's what I wanted to hear!

Although I'm reasonably computer-literate (you really have to be to even find this topic), I'm more into the writing side of fandom and actually creating games is definitely something new to me. Obviously, a user-friendly PW case maker would be a dream come true. I'm up for beta testing.

Thanks. I've already planned most of the things you said. Though I don't know if scripting will be in it - because PWrite will be far easier and still allow so much customisation. Moe

I'll be ripping more Orchestral music for you today, before I go off to Folkestone for the Bank holiday. (I <3 seeing my relatives ^_^, but there isn't any computers there). I still need that list of the tracks you've already got tho Shaun. But I have for you already Gumshoes theme, Search~ intro and Search~Core. I should have the psyche lock theme, All three objection themes, and the JFA court music ripped and looped for you :)

Sorry, I'll post them now. It's kinda hard to do this; my back really hurts and my laptop's toasting my legs off. But here's what I've done.

- Gyakuten Sisters Orchestral
- Main courtroom with intro and loop, fully working

I tried Great Revival a while back but it was difficult. My main music concern right now is finding a tracker. And nobody probably knows what I'm going on about there.

If there's places left I'd like to Beta test. I tried MechaBowsers and it was too complicated for me. No offense Mecha, I'd really like to see what this can do. I also have another PC running Windows 98 so i could test how compatible it is with that, if you wanted to give me a specific task. I also have Windows ME. I won't add you on msn until you say I should though.

Oh. I didn't mean to put it like that MB. It's not that yours doesn't look professional, it's more that the interface looks more... Windowsy :F I find it easier to work with it, but others would prefer your way of doing it ^_^

Also, all will become clear on the design front. He just hasn't put the bits inside it first :F I think he's doing each tab serperatly, then adding it into the main bit.

Now now, I've already designed a lot of the forms and done the programming. Just because they're not shown in a screenshot doesn't mean they don't exist. Sal I think a 'window' is somewhat better than five windows stacked on top of one another anyway. April May

Thanks. Gymshoe I understand if anyone has a few doubts though. I haven't really shown too much. There's no excuse for such bashing though. Well, apparently I must be really generous now; I've expanded it further, as you probably read. Redd White While I have expanded the amount of testers I'm allowing (no more now anyway) I don't like it. Because when I release a beta executable, the more testers, the higher chance of a leak. Thanks for your thoughtful post MJ. I once said I was thinking of giving up on Phoenix Write, but with the support I now have I feel more powerful than ever. Gymshoe
