Having no pre-conceptions before playing the game :D If you're going to be hyper-critical on your first runthrough then you're not going to enjoy it. You can disect everything in subsequent playings ^__^

This whole GS4 game is too...cartoon-ish (magic and hats..I prefer it to be 'mystic') and has driven off its original path.
I don't know, this might be because I didn't actually play Apollo Justice, mostly because I don't know Japanese or anything of the sort.
Am I the only one who thinks that the other arcs are spinoffs and wants more Phoenix Wright?
If they made any more games of him, there would be no Feys LEFT at the rate he was going.

Also, I can't see how the idea of Magical Tricks are any less a serious subject than what's gone before. Showbusiness is a VERY dangerous game, look at what happened to WillP in 1-3 for instance. Not to mention 2-3's Circus and 2-4's deadly rivalry.
All this, you know already. And yet because we're talking about illusions and tricks you think that it's cartoony? Let me see....
And then we see that all three male members of the Arumajiki
are pretty shady people.
So, as you can see; the stakes are just as deadly. Plus, as Croik said, the games themselves are a mix of silliness and tension. Darkness mixed with levity. Otherwise, I doubt the AA series would've taken off since it'd be either depressingly dark or too light to take seriously.

I still miss the old Phoenix personality though. AJ won't be both shy and bold altogether, with an incredibly developed sense of self-humour. It was very fun to play as PW...

PW had very little personality. It really only coveres lack of techy-knowladge, a tendency to read stuff out loud, a kinda irony and sarcasm filled inner dialogue, and a genuine attempt to help people. Oh, and a scary attraction to young girls. That's basicly it. Pretty bare. But it has to be - otherwise you wouldn't be able to play as him.
AJ has a FIERY PASSION that PW lacks completely (a case? Huh? Do I have to take it? What do you mean, Maya, it's your idol? Fuck him!), so he has a lot higher premise to go from.

Maybe GS4 will make up for that. After three games, the same thing gets old. I want to see what the Minuku system is like and if it'll mess up the games like the 'spiritualism' theme did.
