Hii guys!
I was just wondering if anyone was going to Anime USA next month.

It takes place Nov. 20-22nd in the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Crystal City, Virginia. More info here - it is kind of close to Thanksgiving so I guess maybe a lot of you will be on vacation, but I figured I'd ask, just in case~

I was going to do Shiki from The World Ends with You for cosplay, but I don't think I'll have time to put it together before then. So I'll be bringing my Iris-as-Dahlia costume again. [If I manage to get a red wig, I might do proper Dahlia :3]

Anyway, I'd love to meet you guys :D Please let me know if you're going and say hi if you see me~

You Americans are lucky to have so many cosplay conventions in a year. We in the Philippines only have about 3-5 major ones a year and so far I've only seen 2 and cosplayed in 1. :sadshoe:
I've been away for far too long.

Sadly, not this year. :/ I seem to always miss the Ace Attorney meet ups, but I don't think it will stay that way forever. :scientific: Take loads of pictures for us, though! Oh, and have a great time, ammchan!

@Coffee Prosecutor: Sorry, but you're horribly wrong on this one. Cosplay in Germany isn't as big as in America, that's true, but all main anime and book conventions feature cosplay, some of them even hold cosplay contests every year. Connichi, Animagic, Frankfurter Buchmesse and many other big and small cons are open for cosplay. Just check on Google.

I am aware of it
but that are simply book conventios
I am talking about pure Conventions for certain things (let the pokedays alone)
In general we have only not VERY much stuff
It´s so unfair
DAMN YOU GERMANY! :yani-fist:

I don't think that this are "small" conventions....

Daniel is right. And special cosplay cons ... I think those are really rare, not just in Germany. It's common that cons don't only feature a certain theme or activity like cosplay; they rather present a wide variety of things, like anime and the like, and are open for a wider audience. It's natural, the con organisators want to make money, so they mostly prefer to appeal to a broader target audience. The more specialized cons are usually smaller and more private, and there are quite some of those in Germany as well. You just have to look carefully enough. I've been on a small, private South Park con this summer, for example.

We have quite some cons, just not as many and as big ones as America, but that's a larger area by far, so it's no wonder. All these American cons are spread over all the US states, that's really far away in some cases. It's not like every American can go to all these cons with just half an hour on the train.

Awww it's a shame none of you are coming. I guess my bf and I will go and have a good time for everyone haha. I'll be sure to take pictures...

He's actually cosplaying Young college Phoenix (which goes with my Iris/Dahlia costume :D). It should be hilarious to see, since he's done Jake Marshall before, and haha the transition between those characters somehow just makes me laugh.

Agck! Nooo~ *Do* go and have a good time and take lots of pictures, please!

Okay, I won't be going either, but a close friend of mine and her boyfriend are going to AUSA and they told me they know at least four people including themselves who will be cosplaying from Ace Attorney. She'll be going as Lana Skye and he'll be either of the Marshall brothers (thus far undecided). YOU MUST FIND THEM, AAHHHH!

Please have an excellent time ;D

I saw a Gumshoe, a Feenie, and a Godot. I wasn't in costume myself since I had to work in the evening. Hopefully I can participate a bit more fully at Katsu in February.

It's nice to see the Hyatt hold a convention of appropriate size for a change *coughkatsucough*.

Also, I bought one of these at the dealers' room.

I saw the Gumshoe. :D We even exchanged contacts. I was the Iris/Dahlia walking around with the Feenie :P I missed the Godot though! On Sunday there was also a group of Lana, Ema, and Phoenix walking around together. Meanwhile "Feenie" (my bf) changed into his Jake Marshall costume.

I think there were a couple Mias as well ^_^

Anyway, my boyfriend got a few pics, I believe. I'll bug him to send them to me and I'll post them.

<333 I had a great time. Thank you so much ^_^ I saw a couple Lanas, I think, I'm not sure which one was your friend...no Marshall brother though ;A;

I wish you could've been there. Look forward to seeing you at the next con! Loveee :D

Apologies for the double post. Here are the pictures, I finally managed to get them ^^

Unfortunately, there really wasn't much Ace Attorney...
Spoiler: Feenie/Iris!Dollie

The boyfriend as Feenie and me as Iris!Dollie. XD He couldn't get his wig to work right, so unfortunately, he is lacking the spikey hair, but otherwise I think he did an amazing job. My hair is shorter since I last cosplayed her, so I don't think it looks as good...but oh well.</center>

Spoiler: Lana, Jake, Ema
Image

Sunday. I wasn't in costume, the bf decided to bring back his Jake Marshall. Found some peoples. :D

Spoiler: Phoenix, Ema, Jake, Lana
Image

This one has a lawyer!Feenie too. I was actually very, very bitter I wasn't in costume for this, but oh well...

There were actually a couple more Mia cosplayers who got pictures with us as Feenie and Dollie, but I don't have those unfortunately =\ And there was also a Gumshoe cosplayer. No pic of him either...

If anyone has any more pictures from the con, please share. ^^;

Thank you ^^
You mean Lawyer Phoenix? I think his hair looks fine ^^; but spiky hair is hard to pull off, so...maybe I'm just less harsh in judging :3

You're very welcome. :) Thank you for the compliment - a lot of people seem to love the parasol, even those who aren't Ace Attorney fans :D
