Skwaren Fair Ace Attorney: An Objection Away

Image

*Credit to Auraion*

Story:
Skwaren Fair is a rookie lawyer who's making his way to become one of the best
defense attorneys in town. He's still getting the basics of being a lawyer however. In the final
part, there seems to be a situation that's seems so hopeless. While saving the accused
from a guilty verdict, he finds out that one day in his life, there are just some things
that are not what you think are. Guilty or Not Guilty? Make a choice. It's just an
objection away from a Not Guilty verdict.

Case 1: Turnabout Distance

It's Skwaren's first case, having no idea about what occured, he has a very big disadvantage.
A businessman was killed and one of his employees was accused.
Can Skwaren prove his client's innocence?

Plot: 100%
Program: 0%
Dialogue: In Progress

Case 2: The Cracked Turnabout (Logic used from Case 2 up to Case 5; Waiting for PWLib 1.2)

Up in the moutains, an old man is murdered. The primary suspect is a young girl. While investigating, said girl
gives you a certain object that might prove to be useful while you work on your cases. Can he crack this in a
nick of time?

Case 3: Under the Turnabout

A magician prepares for his performance. While rising from below the stage, he
was found dead. The audience was terrified and fled the stadium. The police go to the scene and catch a
person beneath the stage; a ventriloquist. Did he really kill the magician, or is there some sort of secret lurking
below...?

Case 4: Turnabout Reversal

A murder occurs at a mansion. The suspect? A very rich and well known man by the name of Taymis Gold. A new
face rises from the Prosecution's seat to challenge Skwaren. He's never lost a trial all his eight years in the courtroom.

All evidence pointed that the defendant never committed this crime yet after a lengthy argument, it seems the
case requires further investigation. Skwaren's investigation turns out to be his worst nightmare, as he thought.
His client turns out to be the real killer, but is he really...a murderer? Can Skwaren turn this around?

Case 5: Objection, and Turnabout

Details are hidden in the dark... OBJECTION!

Notes:
This game will be using Logic, but not in a GK game, but in a GS game, thanks to KSA_Tech for making this possible.

Wait, did you just kill 2 (probably 3) main characters for no reason?

I... I don't see how this will work out... at all.

There is a reason. I was even wondering that myself but, I'll think of it soon. I'll edit it later.

EDIT: Or I could change the characters if you like.

My recommendation as a story writer: do not kill important/main characters unless it is really necessary. There are two options:

1: create new chars, full with name and graphic.
2: stray from the main storyline, make a new char with a new name, but using some gs/gk char graphic for him/her.

Killing lovable characters require a very good reason, or it will sound bogus and forced. The same effect is valid if one important character suffers some great unforgivable low level violence. We have Franziska be shot on one case, but it fits the story (and she ends up fine in the end). Same with Maya's kidnapping.

Er maybe you posted this a bit too soon. I saw that you need help developing case ideas and isn't the whole point of you being the project head to have these ideas? No offence as it sounds like a good game but I think you got too excited and posted too quickly without thinking about it.

I'll be keeping an eye on this project. Oh and I apologize but I can't really help. I've got my own project to work on and I'm working with ShadowEdgeworth on his PWlib game.

Hm, well take this time to plan it out very well. As I said in a PM, these are my (expanded) rules to creating a fan game.

1. Think of a general idea
2.Expand: By expand, I mean find out; Who is the main character? Antagonist? Side-characters? Where does it fit in the timeline etc.
3.Storyboard: You don't have to really storyboard however, when I was free, say at school, I'd whip out a notebook and create introduction storyboard scenes. I'd start a script and just write.
4.Lotus Chart: Lotus chart's are really good for thinking of ideas. Have a common theme, write 8 different points around it and just find even more themes you can use.

Hope this helps. Justice's Memoirs took heaps of time to plan and I admit it, it was probably the 5th idea I had of a fan game. My others were very general and stereotypical. My advice is to be unique! Creative! Don't limit yourself. Always push those borders.

I see that you are using Mikumo and the case is Tunabout Edge. I assume Edgeworth will be in it. My advice for choosing Mikumo is whether to agree that you'll be able to provide the best case to the AA Fan community. I use Mikumo as with it, I can contribute 110% while without it, maybe 60%?

Just take a breather and follow the three P's. Plan, Portray and Plot.

Ptapcc is right on the idea/expand model.
Make sure you have a fully fleshed out idea before announcing anything, or you won't get anywhere. Trust me: vague projects with this kind of ambition end up being abandoned 99.99% of the time. Having everything carefully planned in advance is a huge motivation factor for you, but also to get people to work on your project.
When I announced my game, I had already been working on it for more than one month, and had a 35 page script (it was also the extension of the idea I'd had for the fifth case of a hypothetical Phoenix Wright game one whole year before). If you're not willing to make that effort, then you shouldn't be thinking about making PW games. But it looks like you are, so it won't be a problem. I'm sure you can do it, you have the right spirit :) I'm looking forward to hearing about your project again once you've thought about it a bit more.

Good luck, Dubius. I still apologize that I had to turn down your request by PM, but now you see why I didn't help you with creating a storyline. I know you can do it, so make sure you just spend some time thinking of a great script!

Can't wait for this to be finished.

Yay a script!

I'm looking forward to your progress on this as those who properly plan (as Ping' said) get their games done. You can give yourself a pat on the back for putting the effort into your game.

My last piece of advice: Don't give up if you encounter any problems. I've had heaps with AIGE and in the end, I tested it on several computers until I got the courage to ask KSA_Technology.

I'm here to remind everyone that this fan-made game shall be released. Even if it takes years to finish, it shall be accomplished. So sit tight and wait. :phoenix:

Note: I shall rename the title to :

Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Return to the Courtroom

So you are using the title I suggested in a PM. Interesting but as I said...

Spoiler:
The case you showed me is set in a time after 1-5 or after 2-4. If you are having it as your first case, then the title will be invalid as you told me you are doing a Phoenix GS5 and plus, it's not very original.

Hmmm....

What if I said that the timeline is not within Phoenix Wright's series timeline? True it's in the future, same people but different timeline. I am making a GS5 version in case 5, in where you're Edgeworth, but a different timeline. Hope that answers your question. :udgy:

Okay, so the first case will have GS1-3 Maya and Pearl, so you have to fit the case in there or turn your case into an alternate GS4 where that trial didn't happen or Phoenix managed to prove that Zak was actually innocent and never used/received that forged evidence.

And your last comment about GS5 with Edgeworth just confused me. I don't understand it at all as what it sounds like is that you are having a new timeline within a new timeline. Please don't turn into Renegade...

Ok, so I'll tell you my problem:

I'm not a very imaginative guy. Can't think of fresh ideas, they're too simple. I'm not a good plotter. I'm 12, I live in the Philippines, and I'm not an expert at speaking English. I need a really new idea. There must be something in my mind, I just can't mix it up. I just want a simple and clean game. All I have to do is think harder than ever. :yogi:

I said I'll be free in like two weeks, so I can help out then. Box art needs improvement. Images of characters are not the correct size.
