Where I live, it's practically a tradition to have a green Christmas. It's been like this for 4 years straight, and we've got no snow now. Even though the weatherman said there was an 87% chance of having a white Christmas. Fail.
We get SO much snow in March, too.

My Christmas Eve was eventful. First, my pet kitten escaped and climbed up the front yard tree and we spent about 15-20 minutes coaxing it out. Later on, she was bounding all over the living room so I had to throw balled-up wrapping paper to distract her before putting her in the garage. Then I went for a walk with my dad who actually was taking the dog for a walk. When we came back, I opened all of my presents while watching Home Alone with my family. When I was about to retire for the night, the kitten escaped from the garage so my sister and I spent nearly half an hour chasing her underneath the train layout my dad set up to hold the tree. Finally, I managed to get to my room but not before listening to Joe Satriani and promptly hitting the hay.
Then I woke up early in the morning to open my sweater and weather jacket gifts before going back to sleep some more. I had this weird dream that me and a couple of other strangers were on a mission to save Christmas... somehow... the details were never fully explain just that we had to do it. It's all so fuzzy, I can't remember it.
Point is, Christmas has been great this year! What's better, no unintentional whining from my little brothers!

Thing is, I am well capable of playing, I've been playing acoustic on and off for about 10 years. very on and off, and thus I only know childrens songs.
Now I can play Wonderwall - Oasis and Rock 'n' Roll Train - ACDC, which sounds sooo epic, yet very easy. I can also play smidgens of In My Place by COldplay, The Chain by Fleetwood mac and Tubular Bells (exorcist theme part), not to mention the intro (only) to Deep Purple- Smoke on the water, Johnny Cash- Walk the line and Lamb Of God-Vigil.
I want to learn some Beatles songs though.
The rest of my presents included:
- A tuning thingybob which is amazingly clever. I can sing at it and it'll tell me I'm flat, whilst my guitar is in tune.
- Elbow's album, the one with One Day Like This on.
- Jeremy Clarkson's latest book and DVD.
- That new Dan Brown book.
- Some chocolate.

VERRY HAPPY, and we had a great meal and day in general to boot.
I need to buy a case and stand for my guitar now however, which may set me back a few bob.

I have a blue version of the one you got, it's very good as a beginners guitar, but my friend's who play on a higher level say to replace it when you get better (apparently it goes out of tune too fast).

No pedals, no. But with the amp effects and the whammy bar, I don't really need them. I just need to learn how to play before messing with effects.

I got my sports enthusiast brother-in-law Tiger Woods PGA Tour '10. Both he and my sister are thankful for it; he plays it throughout the day and she gets a chance to go on his laptop. I also got my mum Rhythm Paradise, but I seem to be playing it more than her. I didn't actually get it for myself, I just have more rhythm than her.
We also had a buffet for Christmas dinner (our actual Christmas dinner was during lunch), but we got way too much buffet food, and had another one Boxing Day lunch, with plenty left over. We still haven't finished it off yet.
