Pearl - first I thought, she was just a random girl I'll never see again, like Cody. But now I kind of like her.
Jake Marshall - my only thought was "what's this?!" when I first saw him, but later he was pretty cool.
Angel Starr - I was so sad that Maya was gone and thought that 1-5 was a dream of Phoenix, since I saw nobody I knew.
And then I met her. -_- But after the first trial, she was one of my favorite chracters in 1-5. 
Apollo - I was SO sad. T_T Ace Attorney without Phoenix, I could've never imagined that! Nya, but Apollo was okay, but I like Phoenix more.
Young Ema - I really was like "OMG where's Maya how am I supposed to live with a girl like this?!?!!!!1111oneoneeleven" but when you get used to her, you really like her ^-^... however...
Like to hate:
Adult Ema - I actually can't say I hate her. But I was happy to see Ema again, and then she was like this. Yeah, she is funny and all, but there is something which doesn't belong to the Ema I knew.
Yanni Yogi - I liked his weird character. XD But when he showed the real Yanni, I didn't like him anymore. :/

Kristoph Gavin - Before I played/during my first playthrough I was influenced by his fandom. I thought, "hey, this is a pretty cool guy" but I just thought he was evil and not even a very good villian the second/third time through.
Pearl Fey - Why couldn't she get kidnapped instead of Maya? D: I wouldn't say that I HATE her, but I definitely don't like her as much as I did when I played through JFA and T&T the first times.

AJ Ema - The first time I played, I wanted to punch her through the DS. Second-Third time? I actually kind of enjoyed her characters. The munchmunchmunch thing got pretty annoying, but overall I actually found her pretty enjoyable.
Machi Tobaye - The first time, I totally got fed up with him and his lying, but now I think he's cute and a lovely character :3

I didn't HATE him to begin with, but he was just kinda annoying. But now he is one of my favorite characters. 
For a long time I didn't like how they changed his look and his personality. But I finally said "y'know, he isn't THAT bad.". I still dont LOVE him, but i dont "hate" him anymore.
At first, I thought "this guy is a total jerk".........I still do, but in a better way.So yeah, He is cool and all but still a ditz.

I didn't like her until the very end of the case. She just wouldn't say that she was innocent.
He just seemed scary, but I eventually noticed that he was an extremely respectable man. He wouldn't even take off his Steel Samurai suit just for the children's fantasies. A hero to the kids!
Like most people, I didn't like him because he was always throwing objections and had the witnesses lie about what they witnessed. But as the series went on he became more and more... honorable.

is the only one worth mentioning here for me. Meh in 3-5 (I played T&T first), hated her in 2-2, hated her less in 2-3 when she whipped Moe into shape, and in 2-4 I was practically crying out for her whip to tame the Oldbag. Now she's my favourite character.

Andrews- she annoyed me at first, but then i felt sorry for her in 2:4 she was a little annoying in 3:2 but i still like her.
FranziskaI thought she was annoying until 2:4 when im not against her and it was great in 3:5

Oh, I used to hate Manfred von Karma. Because of him objecting everything. Now he's one of my favorites.
I also hated Edgeworth because, like Manfred, he objected a lot. He really angered me by trying to convict Maya and Phoenix in 1-2 and helping Redd White. He became OK when he helped convict Vasquez, though I thought that had more to do with Vasquez being a bitch than helping Will Powers. He angered me again in 1-4 when he refused Phoenix's help. He became OK after the first trial day. I started to like him at the end of the trial, also he wasn't that bad of a defendant after seeing Lana Skye's attitude in 1-5. Edgeworth angered me again in 2-4 when he told Adrian he didn't care if she died. (Though to be fair, Phoenix angered me just as much with his attitude toward Edgeworth in JFA) I really liked Miles in T&T the best. I guess that would offically be Hate>Alright>Hate>Alright>Hate>Alright>Like. Whew!

She was really interesting at first, just killing people who got in her way. But then towards the end of 3-5 when she just stands there and lets the humiliation bomb explode all over her, I really started to dislike her and realize what a poor, poor villain she is.... they ruined a really good character idea.
I found him okay at first. He was good-looking, he was kind of a jerk, which I could tolerate. But as the game went on and ended with 3-5, I just realized what a sexist, arrogant little dickweed he was that just couldn't get over stuff. And his planning sucks.

I sort of liked her at first, I'm a bit of a science geek myself at times. But that case kept on going and she became more boring and an obvious copy of Maya. And her older version just annoyed me pretty fast because she just wouldn't stop bitching about hating her job and not getting to be forensice investigator and nag-nag-nag. I know I complain about her a lot, but I sort of liked her at first. But then her super chipper way in 2-4 got me annoyed and it went down-hill from there. Especially when she didn't seem to mature at all throughout all three games.
She was cute, she was funny at times and somewhat clever. Then the panty jokes began... and even if it was just one case, they wouldn't shut up about them. Ahahaha, panty jokes are funy - for about five seconds.
I sort of started hating him as I played through 2-4. At first, I found he was a cool assassin - loyal to his customer, willing to do anything, has his morals and such. That was interesting... but as the case went on, I realize how terrible he is at the other parts of his job that do not focus on killing. I mean, he kidnapped Maya but in no way restrained her, locked her up properly (a wine cellar door? Seriously, you thought that a door for such a useless room would keep her contained?) or somehow did anything to prevent her from somehow getting help. (Okay he couldn't help that summoning-dead-sister thing...)Hate -> Like
I first thought he'd be the type of dickweed I'd hate, but after a few of his banters with Phoenix (and the somewhat innuendo-laden talk between them) I really started to like him. And now he's my favorite character. I was a bit surprised at first and thought I'd hate this new Hobohodo. But after hearing him being kind of more intelligent about the law (refusing to testify on grounds of incriminating himself) and being an open snarky bastard than the introverted one he was before, I really warmed up to him. I hope he remains a bit like this in GS5!C-A

Well, she complained, then says "What matters is inside the heart!" but then we continually see how little she actually cares about doing her job properly. Heck, I think that's something I disliked about GS4 - the detective just let me have free reign all the time and helped me. Gumshoe helped me, but generally in ways he didn't realize it or because it was "for Edgeworth('s sake)"
As for that Fridge Horror thing... well, I am still stuck on Case 1 of GK2, so I have yet to witness those death threats. Although I have to admit, the idea of reading them being thrown at Edgeworth is kind of hot. Oooh, I hope somebody makes a reference to strangling him in his sleep!

Yeah, I mentioned that in another thread as well, but his attitude pissed me off from time to time, also he always was going on 24/7 about that Phoenix is guilty that Mia died and that ticked me off big time. Sure, he looks like an angel with his blue eyes and blonde hair but he's not. He's just simply the devil itself and that he killed someone just gave me the rest. I started to hate him with each second and he even told Klavier to 'wipe out' Phoenix - I mean, that's fucked, right? Right. Just.. he gives me a big headache whenever I replay the cases with him around. I just.. I really can't. Like, for real. I thought I'd absolutely despise her because I liked her happy self in Rise from the Ashes. Then I kinda warmed up to her. She does have her moments where she gets that 'spark' in her eyes and genuinely enjoys using her forensics tools despite how much she hates her job. It was funny how she'd make fun of Apollo with her "snak-fu" as I like to call it. Also she looks really pretty when hasn't she been pretty? She was really obnoxious in JFA. She was arrogant, pretentious, and unnecessarily abusive. Then by 2-4 and onward, I started to like her a little bit. I saw how she was starting to change ever so slowly. A rock star prosecutor? Sounds awesome right? Ehhh, sort of. I thought I would've loved him, but then I was disappointed at how little conflict there was between him and Apollo. I can't say I hate him, I don't really have any reason to hate him. I was just really disappointed he wasn't as good as I thought he'd be. But I do like his air guitar animation!

- When I first played 1-2, I thought he was a total dope for thinking Maya murdered her own sister because he has seen people in movies writing the murderer's name in blood before their lights turn out. But as the series went on and Gumshoe got more character development, I adored him. He's the sweetest most loyal man in the game, I wish more people in real life could be like Detective Gumshoe.
- Ok, at first I dreaded seeing this guy around. He was a total dork and he was a jerk, but then after learning his backstory I regretted bashing on him, in fact I felt so sad for him. Now I like having Jake Marshall around, I think he's cooler than Godot.

How so?
A Mary Sue is a character who gets adored by everyone, generally has some sort of super power or an extreme talent, is so pretty that even more people fall in love with her and generally has some important ties to the antagonist or a tragic backstory.
Regina fits parts of that pretty well - the more direct term for her would be the Canon Sue, a Mary Sue character who is canonically in the series. (Others include the Priestesses that enter the Heaven of the Four Gods in Fushigi Yuugi)

Only problem with that is, I think Regina was MEANT to be written to be loved by everyone, otherwise there would be no case 2-3. I think this whole Mary Sue thing started with Bella from Twilight (It might have not but that's where I learned of the term in the first place.) She was supposed to be an "ordinary girl" but seeing how she has an entire football team wanting to get into her pants, she has an attracted scent to vampires, and gets straight A's...you get the idea, the writing of Twilight contradicts who she's supposed to be. But nowadays I can't take anyone's character critique seriously if they utter out the word Mary Sue or Canon Sue, especially since a majority of the time people shout out the word Mary Sue whenever a character has multiple characters in love with said character.
And the thing that annoys me the most about all of this, is that when a female character has multiple people in love with her, that's considered a bad thing, but when a male character has multiple male and females in love with him, it's not considered a bad thing.
Besides, I've seen people who like certain Mary Sue characters, they just want those characters they like to have their writing a bit tweeked, so they could be better characters. As for me, either a character is written well or written poorly. Like Katara from Avatar: The Last Airbender, I dislike her because she gets all the character development while Toph gets little to none.

Bella was supposed to be a bland "skin" that female readers could slip into and image themselves in her stead. Although I have to say, if they had really wanted that, they would've not made any mention of grades or other stuff. I never got straight A's in school, so already it'd be impossible for me to think of myself in Bella's place - but I also like to think that because, well, for one I am much more intelligent than she is and I have a personality.
I try to not call someone a Mary Sue that fast. I admit, when I started writing, my OCs and self-inserts generally had so many special things about them, they ended as Mary Sues. Now, I try to even them out - have them also several weaknesses - but I am still a person who will call characters a Mary Sue when they are one. It just depends on how badly it is and such.

Well now, that's simply a Double Standard - like how a guy can have sex with several girls and is called a cool stud, but if a girl sleeps with several guys and always gets called a slut. Or a nympho, although that term is technically not right in most cases.

I know, that's why I am tired of people who overuse the word slut or whore. Or just insecure girls who put down the confident girls who they would call sluts or whores just to make themselves look good.
It makes me ask, "What? You guys seriously think that men are incabable of being 'whores' or 'sluts'?" Which is weird since, because I'm a tomboy and have grown up with nice, influential boys in my life, I usually preach things like, "It is possible for boys/men to get raped," or "Men can be abused by women," or "Men also get themselves in sexual sitiuations they don't wish to be in."
Stuff that is sensitive toward guys...I don't know what that makes me.
