(Searched, no relevant topics ^^)

Okay, there are nowadays LOTS and LOTS of different kind of games. There are action games, strategy games, party games (LAWYER GAMES) etc.

But have there ever been something that is forbidden from all games? Swearing is a bad thing but you see t in games every day. Killing is a bad thing but still you see it in games every day. Through Atari Porno and hentai games even sex is involved in games somehow.

But is there anything that has never shown up in games? I'm not talking about rare things like Easter bunnies, but more like regular, commonly known habits. This occured to me when King Dedede flipped the bird to you in Kirby's Adventure if you lost in a minigame. I was like O_O but then my sister said that it's not so big thing in Japan so :^

There is nothing that can be "banned" from a video game per se as video are protected under the 1st amendment. However if a game has a full on porn-like sex scene then the game will be considered AO by the ESRB which makes it impossible to sell the game at any store that sells video games. Also, the media (particularly FOX News) would just go absolutely nuts over a sex scene in a video game and it would lead to the company being sued and the case will go to federal court and the country would just make a massive deal about it.

So nothing can be banned from a video game but there is just a line that would not be a smart idea to cross

Banned? Didn't know how one game deals with it exp and lvl is forbidden. In Soul Nomad you can pick what level your characters be at when you create them although after every so level(I think every 3) you don't get any stats. Pokemon has rare candy.

Hacking. That's about it.

Seriously, if Nintendo catches you with hacked Pokemon on Wi-fi, your whole game data becomes corrupt.

Wait...Er......Yep, you're right. In a technical sense games that have "Hacking" Exist but it usually doesn't you opening the games code and abusing to your own ends.....Though Conkers bad fur day had him freeze the game right before he was going to die and blackmail the creators so he could win....

So far only Mutilation of a live human being seems to be the only thing not shown in games...Thank god....

I've yet to see any pedophilia in games. Bad things happening to children in video games in general are usually a "no-no". As a matter of fact, a game coming out in march called Dante's Inferno recieved some heat from the media for having an achievement for killing some children, albeit they're demon children so they don't really count.

Duke Nukem handled both of these back in the mid 90s(steroids, and the intro scene in the 4th episode of the Plutonium Pak).

Do you mean like an actual snuff film in a video game? Then yeah..

This just occured to me; aside from Red Alert 3 you don't see much politicians in games. Is it just storylines or fear of game being banned?

Just storyline really, but it's true that the handling of real politicians and locations has to be done carefully by game companies. Duke It Out in D.C.(a third-party Duke Nukem 3D addon) attracted some media attention because of its depictions of Washington DC and the president.

I think they mean actual footage of a real person getting mutilated.

Yes, the actual footage. I guess most of the RE series has mutilation of VG Characters. Almost forgot about it...

Let's see....Hmm....Er.... Most of the Stuff I think is kinda taboo is used in GTA and Duke Nukem..Not much is really sacred in Video games....Can't Believe I forgot that little rule.

Well, why don't we try to make this challenging and exclude hentai games and stuff, and instead focus on titles released for the mainstream public(or by big-name companies like Konami/Capcom/etc)?

Seriously, we're not going to go anywhere by mentioning hentai games.

Flipping the bird in Japan is about the equivalent of saying a swear word from another language... It's still a swear word, but it doesn't have the same impact that a swear word from whatever language you speak has.

Metal Gear Solid 3 - Vomiting.

Duke Nukem 3D - Feces. (with a quote referencing said matter by the hero himself)

Beavis and Butt-Head video game - Nose-picking.(this is a gray area, I suppose)

There is something to the pedophilia effect. Doki Doki Majo Shinpan! 1, Duo, and Plus all are about you touching girls under 18. It was meant for release here, but after Japan got info on the second game, the site was closed. It also included a version into Europe. I hate you, SNK.

Actually they are in a lot of things.

Metal Gear games feature them often (various presidents, secretary of defence, the 'patriots') It's a big loada politics.
Also Dynasty Warriors.....maybe they may seem different but the kings and prime ministers and strategists all are politicians of their time.

I never played the Maximo games, but I heard that the character you play as, when he is hit a certain amount of times, he is reduced to his boxers. Maybe it's not "splitting his pants", but he's still losing his clothes/armor.

And would No More Heroes count as seeing someone take a dump? Actually in the sequel, there's even some nose picking going on.
