Ooh, here's one. It's a long riddle.

A man woke up the same time every day and kissed his wife on the cheek before getting dressed and going down the elevator to the basement to get in his car. He would then drive out of the basement and go to work then come back, take the elevator back to the apartment and repeat the cycle the next day. However, one day when he came back from work, he pressed the switch to the elevator but the doors didn't open as they usually did. He instantly then knew his wife was dead.

How did he know this?!

His wife is on life-support in the hospital, and he sleeps at the hospital to keep her company, and the elevators didn't open b/c there was a power outage? :yuusaku: There are a few holes, but it's what I came up with...

*sigh* You got it Bad Player. His wife was on life support at home and when he discovered there was a power outage, he knew his wife was dead. ((Yes I know there could have been a back-up generator but there was none.))

I'll post some more tomorrow. I'm too tired to comprehend riddles but I'll leave you with a few simple ones.

1. Jimmy's mother had three children with her husband Frank. The first was named Monday. The second was called Tuesday. What is the name of the third child?

2. You have a barrel of oil, and you need to measure out just one gallon. How do you do this if you only have a three-gallon container and a five-gallon container?

3. When you have me, you feel like sharing me. But, if you do share me, you don’t have me. What am I?

1. Jimmy

2. How much oil do I start with

3. A secret

2) Get oil into 5 gallon cont, then pour out three gallons to the smaller container, so you have two gallons in five-gallon cont., and after that pour out oil from 3-g cont, and replace those 2g from 5g cont into 3g cont. Now, we have an empty 5-g cont, and 3-g cont with 2g of oil. Then get another 5g from the barrel into 5-g cont, and pour the lacking 1g into 3-g cont, and clear that 3-g cont. So, we now have an empty 3-g cont, and 5-g cont with 4g of oil. Pour 3g from 5-g cont into 3-g cont, and it leaves us with one gallon of oil in the five-gallon container.

I remember a similar question involving water instead of oil in "Die Hard With a Vengeance". Classic puzzle.

There was a man climbing a ladder to somebody's house, to the nearest window. He broke into the house and took what was most precious to the family. He climbed down, and the police were there waiting for him. He returned what he took to the police, and the police let him walk away. Why?

Nice.

I finally remembered a decently difficult one, but I doubt you intelligent folk will be puzzled for too long.

Decapitate me and all becomes equal. Then truncate me and I become second. Cut me front and back and I become two less than I started. What am I?

Nice. Just to show everyone how it works:

SEVEN
Decapitate it by removing the head letter, EVEN (equal)
Truncate it by removing the last letter, EVE (second)
Cut it front and back by removing the first and last letter again, V (Roman numeral 5)

I can't really think of any others at the moment, sorry. Anyone else have any?

This is a classic one I heard years ago. I have a book somewhere full of these but here is one I remember very well.

A man was found shot dead in his study. He was slumped over his desk and a gun was in his hand. There was a cassette recorder on his desk. When the police entered the room and pressed the play button on the tape recorder they heard, "I can't go on. I have nothing to live for." Then there was the sound of a gunshot. How did the detective immediately know that the man had been murdered?

But couldn't the guy have been suicidal and made one of his friends rewind it as part of his last wish? I know I'm overanalyzing things, but I think that'd make more sense, judging by what the victim said. That or the murderer made the victim say it. Hmm...

That, or a towel. Announcing that puzzle at my school would result in 550 kids shouting "That's what she said!"

Not too sure about the second one, is it meant to be a riddle?

Lets see if you can beat this Bad Player!

Two convicts are locked in a cell. There is an unbarred window high up in the cell. No matter if they stand on the bed or one on top of the other they can't reach the window to escape. They then decide to tunnel out. However, they give up with the tunneling because it will take too long. Finally one of the convicts figures out how to escape from the cell. What is his plan?

Stand on top of the bed AND on top of each other? I dunno. Is the answer in the riddle? Otherwise this'll take forever.

One of them finds a wire to pick the lock of the cell door. The other knocks out the guard with his fists and they make a break for it posing as guards. Yeah... it's weird....

You both are very creative but you are not correct. The answer is in the riddle.

Oh, oh! Using the dirt they dug for tunneling, they stacked it into a pile and climbed it to reach the window!

What kind of idiot jailer would leave an unbarred window unattended?

Correct. They stacked the dirt into a pile and climbed it to reach the window. Next riddle.

A man and a woman were driving in their car when it broke down. The man decided to go for help at a gas station a few miles back. He made sure nobody was in the car, rolled all the windows up, and locked all of the sedan's doors. He went off, but when he came back, his wife was dead, and there was a stranger in the car. No physical damage was done to the car, so how did the stranger get in?

Ah, I love thinking up ridiculous answers to riddles.
The wife was actually a dummy. His wife probably is safely at home, and the stranger is someone who happened to be hiding in the car at the time.

*sigh* Correct. The stranger was the baby. Here are two more moderate riddles for you to solve.

1. I can be long, or I can be short. I can be grown, and I can be bought. I can be painted, or left bare. I can be round, or square. What am I?

2. Paul is 20 years old in 1980, but only 15 years old in 1985. How is this possible?

2. Paul lives in the B.C. era, not the A.D. era. The years counted down instead of up in B.C. according to our numbering system.

Sorry, I've literally memorized over 5,000 riddles/puzzles over the years. "Critical thinking is the key to success" doesn't always apply to me, especially if I can remember a puzzle XD

Anyways, I've remembered a few more, but let's see them one at a time, shall we?

What can be weighed on the moon that cannot be weighed on Earth?

Just to make sure everyone's on the same page, we're talking about weight, not measurements. To better put it, what can be weighed (in lbs.) on the moon, but not on Earth?

Hint: Think of what wouldn't work on a scale.
