Well, finished Dirk today, and due to reasons involving book lists and OCD, I will not read Gatsby while I wait for Tom Baker to arrive. Instead, I'm going to read To Kill a Mockingbird, which I got from the scool library. I'd ask how it is, but it's mentioned to be brilliant in pretty much every page of this thread. I'll tell y'all my opinion once I've finished.

I was going to post about that, but felt it would make me look like a big phony, since I was never really much of a fan. I might give Catcher another shot, since it's been a long time.

At my dad's recommendation, I just started "The Professor and the Madman." It's non-fiction, about a murderous lunatic that contributed something like ten thousand definitions to the first Oxford English Dictionary, all while confined at an asylum. It's...more awesome than it sounds.

I've really liked the series of the Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan. The latest one, The Gathering Storm, was one of the better books in it.
Stephen King is one of my favourite authors-The Talisman is my fave book of his. Rose Madder is...odd at times. not really a horro story as such, just...strange. The painting is we~i~rd.

I just finished Darren Shan's Demonata series. It's not as good as The Saga Of Darren Shan (I thought the ending was disappointing), but it's still very good.

Actually it has too much sexytimes for my taste. But other than that, it's not very appealing. I often found myself skipping paragraphs because they were getting too monotonous.

Bleh, used to love it, now it just seems flat. Although I do appreciate the Ace Attorney references in the 6th book.
I don't hate And Another Thing as much as some Hitchhiker's fans, but it still doesn't match up. Not that anything ever could, of course =P

Anyway, just realized I've never posted here before. Two books I love are The Princess Bride and I Am The Cheese. And, of course, the Hitchhiker's series.

Ace Attorney references? Where? I'll re read the whol book just to find them if need be!

And I like AF too, Thomas. And I liked AAT too, MJ! Good to know I'm not alone.

I love the Darren Shan books as well. <3

While I feel that those "references" are incredibly minute, I still find them awesome.

I've finished part 1 of To Kill a Mockingbird. What is there to say that isn't spoilers?
Spoiler: Part 1 End
Rawr, angry Jem is angry and hates prejudiced mean woman who even sent some torture to him after she died! Grargh.
T'is an interestign book thus far.

Who on Earth is Tom Baker? is funny and interesting. When he was younger, he went to a club for masturbating. No joke. Buy it and read it for yourself.

I read The Love Suicides at Amijima by Chikamatsu Monzaemon for my World Literature class. It's a really sad story, really, but it's a very famous Japanese play done for kabuki and puppet theatre.

I just finished To Kill a Mockingbird and holy crap, the trail onwards is brilliant. Easily one of my favourite books o all time.

Spoiler: Right at the end
I loved how the only thing Boo Radley said was this: "Please take me home" in a whisper. Shows how childlike he is.

i finished reading to kill a mocking bird. it was quite good except for...
Spoiler:
I didn't like how bloody long it took to get to the trial I mean the story's main point more or less is the trial of a black man and yet only about two chapters are devoted to it when most of the book is devoted to Jem and Scout sitting on their arses doing fuck all also it got a little bit preachy near the end when they started talking about Hitler

Possibly the only book that I have ever read that was absloutly perfect in every way (and I mean perfect like a single carat diamond) was the book of lost things by John Connelly.
Nothing.

Oh gosh, I devoured those as a kid. Goosebumps and the Boxcar Children made me into the nutso reader I am today.

It's neat seeing students now still reading them. I had a great conversation about "One Day at Horrorland" with a fourth grader the other day. We agreed that it's the best one.

I only ever read three of his books(the Fear Street Saga) since they were in my class when I was in sixth class, but I adored those books so much. Then I forgot what they were called, and only looked up the name ten seconds ago when I read your post and got reminded of it. XD

I still have about 30 of them. I never got around to collecting all, like, 100 of them. I personally like the Night Of The Living Dummy ones, myself.

I don't think I read the Fear Street Saga as avidly as the actual Goosebumps series. I think I found a squashed spider in the middle of one of them (I borrowed it from the library) and was grossed out by it more than the actual book.

Oh, totally. I have countless copies of those on my shelf. I really should put them in the attic, my bookshelf is stuffed. xD

Anyways, I just finished rereading Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher because I love it. It's so sad, but I always laugh at this line: "My deepest and darkest? What are you, my gynecologist?"

I'm also trying to make my way through the giant that is Under the Dome by Stephen King. it hurts

I still have about five books to finish from Christmas, I think I'm set for a while >3<
