Except those who buy it and realise, it's not actually a laptop with an iPod touch stuck it's hole, then get disappointed and return it.
What it actually is is a fancy place-mat for your dinner table.
It can't use flash (no IGN videos :( )
It's big and heavy for what it is.
It doesn't do any decent productive work.
It will get broken VERY quickly without a lid.
The touch screen will be useless for things such as drawing cos it ain't really pressure sensitive.
It'll break when I spill wine over it during dinner.
What it is is an appliance almost solely for web browsing and well, I think we already have laptops and net-books for that and more.
Oooh it can read books! Google Books. Take a look, it's wicked innit.
You can keep your iTouch XL and you can get me a proper table mat with animals and trees on. One that costs £2.99 from Tudor Williams, not £499 from PC World. For everything else, there's Dell.

I will take issue with your iPhone comment. The iPhone is amazing for a phone. The iPad is not very good for a tablet PC.
The iPhone allows you to browse internet, play games, use Google Earth and all sorts of rad stuff that other phones just couldn't do before very well and if I had more money than sense I would definitely buy one.
The iPad doesn't do as much as other net books. The only benefit I can see is that it's wipe clean.
Only Stephen Fry will buy one.

And what is the point of super-sizing the iPod Touch? Does Goliath need an iPod, and they're releasing giant ipods to compensate? Maybe the headphone jack will use a quarter-inch cable rather then the usual :)

The only factors that differs the iPhone from a laptop or PC is that it's smaller, has a lower memory capacity and has that crappy touch-screen instead of keys. It's just like a little useless computer + cell phone hybrid with a touch-screen. It's luxurious and that's it. I'm perfectly capable of to phone or message my friends with a normal cell. I'm also able to listen to music, while browsing the web and using Google Earth on my laptop all at once and I don't need the iPhone for that.
but that may be just my opinion...

At home sure, but when you're on the go? You can't whip out your laptop as you're crossing a train station to find out where you're going next, or to catch up on an urgent email.
You can't produce a laptop whilst on a boat to tweet that stunning picture you just took.
You can't pop out a laptop in the highstreet to do a price comparison or find out where the nearest Starbucks is (although probability states it will be right in front of you).
And after all that you can't hold your laptop up to your face to call a friend, or take a picture in the first place.
The iPhone is not a small rubbish computer, it's an excellent mobile phone that gives you access to everything you need (and even a lot that you don't) when you're on the go.
Now make it 4 times bigger, remove the camera and phone functionality. Then you're left with a useless computer that can do none of the above.
An iPhone is not as good as a laptop. But for when you're out and about, the iPhone is great. The iPad isn't as good as a laptop for home use. It isn't as good as an iPhone for when you're on the go. What is it good for?

and as for the ipad, i can see something with a form factor like it being used in a hospital, factory, or construction site, managers and workers using it to quickly jot down and send or pull up information, etc etc etc. i can also see it being more of an even more portable laptop or netbook. using it in public probably will be awkward though, and i don't see it having that many uses.
