What is up with this stange, weird and peculiar show?

Providing 4 gruesome deaths and 1 near death, you'd think, how on earth is this show still on the air? Though it is somewhat... Disturbed to watch, it's mostly out of curiousity when you would.

So what do you think?

There's a show... An actual, broadcasted TV show that exhibits... deaths?!?
Thank God I didn't even know of it. The sole idea of it is horrible. There's some people that mourned that deaths, and other people laugh at them, or watch them for entertainment? Sadistic shit, nothing else. And the worst kind of it.

I've seen the show a couple of times at my friends house and hated it. They broadcast the deaths in a way that they do want you to laugh at them. Making jokes etc. It is truly sadistic and sad.

However, they have experts go on and talk about how the death is caused, and has X-rays of the skeleton during the death, so it is quite informative. It usually covers Final Destination-style deaths.

But still, each episode always has a sexually-related death, which is sickening. If only they showed the deaths with a more respect, instead of insulting them at every given opputunity, it might have been good, but there is too much corny jokes, it just makes you wonder if the show's producer was an escaped mental patient/serial killer.

Me? I've never heard of it before but it defiantly sounds interesting although if I recall there was a show a long while back that showed you people who committed the weirdest suicides (like drowning in their own piss and tearing off their own cock and bleeding to death)

I watched an episode, but it was weird. Some of the things they show on SpikeTV nowadays shock me. But according to my friends this is its second season, so it looks like somebody watches this crap.

I don't really like the tone they take with the show, but I agree it's informative. Never put an entire box of nicotine patches on at once, kids. Some of the deaths really make me squirm though.

It could be a good informative show that can let you know what to watch out for, but the presentation and the dramatizations and the Spike TV-style derrogatory narration kind of ruin it.

I find this show so disturbing, yet I can't help watching it at the same time.
And that fact that these deaths are possible to happen in real life is even freakier.

One of the deaths was about a couple that ate live snails, because they thought that was the proper way to eat escargot. But they ingested parasites that traveled through their bloodstreams to their brains, which fed on their brain matter until they both died.

After watching that, I almost didn't want to eat sushi ever again...

What does sushi have to do with snails? Anyway I watched a few of them. I wish they put them in order from 1000 to 1 and make 1 the big finally instead of showing it already(it was two Japanese or some Asian couple died right at when they orgasm). I don't like the opening talks about how you fight 1000 ways to die or something when no one that isn't stupid would even die the way half of them did.

The snails were pretty much eaten raw. Sushi is raw fish.
And fish are known to carry parasites in general. However, I did some research and I've read that most sushi is frozen at sea which pretty much kills all parasites, so no more worries for me.

Phew. My heart skipped a beat and lather came out of my mouth when I heard that about sushi. It's the best food on earth!
Anyway, I'm sorry about changing the topic, but I have nothing to add. :keiko:

I've just watched the first episode.
I felt really sorry for that guy that was buried underneath that sand and then suffocated.
But this show is still very fascinating and also it is sort of funny in a sadistic way.
But anyway I will probably watch a few more episodes out of morbid fascination and then shelve it as just being too weird.
Nothing.

I've seen it. It has potential, but the way they present it as being humorous is extremely disturbing. It would do better as an informative show (as in, being shown in a serious manner).
Say, that reminds me of a puzzle! Have you ever heard this one, Luke?

Note that the show airs on Spike TV, as said by others in previous posts, along with MANswers and a lot of UFC programs, which generally attract(s) a lot of male viewers. They pretty much made that show to attract more viewers with violent, gory, and sexual deaths. Mostly anything that would get the attention of a average male adult is on that show.

It is somewhat informative, I'll give it that, but they misuse the info and make it more "appealing" to the (mostly) male population. For example, remember the show Mostly True Stories? Technically, it's a show about urban legends, but most urban legend deaths tend to be of the freak-of-accident nature, much like the deaths shown in this show. It also shown each victim(s) in that situation as being a complete idiot(s). (Take the guy who dies of a severe allergic reaction to a rubber (maybe PVC) bondage suit. Wouldn't he know about that allergy, or was it stated that the guy had no knowledge of it? Also, take the girls who died of radioactive poisoning from painting watch dials with glow-in-the-dark paint. The stuff's is HARMFUL!)

Either way, the show could do better, but it won't because of how the creators made it to be.

I'm a straight female and I love these kind of shows lol. Even if I do get skeeved out sometimes.
Maybe it's because I've seen a whole lot worst on the interwebs, and I know that what I'm watching isn't real.

But I have a sick sense of humor to begin with so...yeah.

So do my friends, and they're all straight girls with boyfriends. (As a matter of fact, I think they got that from me, me being their crazy-as-hell best friend, or from their boyfriends.) But the show is really disturbing yet it shows that you can never be too careful. :eh?:

Then again, the Final Destination movies were the same way, though I think those deaths were partially based off urban legends, BUT OH WELL. :yogi:

I've watched it a couple times and some of its deaths either grossed me out or I couldn't really handle having that idea of dying. :beef:

Personally, I don't find a large amount wrong with it. It's deaths, yeah, but *so far as I am aware of* they dont state the real names of the deceased? I could be wrong.

Also, *again, as far as I am aware* theres no real footage of this happening. It's all lame dramatizations.

And as Squeaker-Ed said...

It's not a show i watch often, but if theres nothing else on, I watch it, if I really have nothing else to do. (im not a real big TV person anyways)

:) all in all, i dont find it a big deal. (but i am a disturbing person to begin with, I suppose)

Yes, the names were changed in each case to protect the identities of the dead. (Although with proper research, you could probably find out who it really was who died.)

And actually, up until Season 3, the last story of each episode claimed to be showing actual footage of dangerous situations that nearly ended in death, also including interviews with the people involved in those situations. (These were later dropped to make room for more death segments.) The dramatizations were also made more graphic during Season 3.

okay well lol I never claimed to know alot about it. I don't watch the show too much, and i've only seen a few episodes. the latest ones i've seen were supposedly 'new' so that might be why I didn't know of that.

All that I got from research and reruns of earlier shows.

Either way, it's an odd show, and if I wanted to know about strange deaths, I'd go look at the Darwin Awards (which I heard is the basis for/related somewhat to the show) or go watch Final Destination, FD2, FD3, or TFD.

Well that what they say on the show. If you want to know you can search the death. As someone else said even though they change the name, you can still probably find the real people who died. These aren't that common deaths and even if they're more then one, they give the location of where it was at so that also near it down. Just the background of the death is unique.

That was me who said that. But yes, the deaths can be found with proper research. Not only are these deaths not common, most of them are like freak accidents that people rarely take time to even think about. Then again, some of them are actually most likely to happen than other deaths. I believe there was one death of a guy who stole a hot dog and choked on it as he was escaping, which is far more likely to happen than being hit with a stray bullet shot straight up into the sky several miles away on New Year's Eve.
