Deily here

I recently started working on my first fan game, The Ema Skye Story, but I really do need help.
In anyway possible...
You can click the Wiki Page to see everything that I have.

I really think this could turn out fun and challenging. But to be honest I cannot do it alone. In fact I really don't think there are many fan made games where people can or did it by themselves.
Anything is appreciated!

:think-pw: Well, I don't quite get it, how is the gameplay going to be?
Just investigation?
Is it going to be AAI or AA style?
Wich casemaker are you using?

I have a problem where I am not specific enough I know. :redd:

Ok let me start over:
So far I am using PyWright but I think I'd rather use PWLIb.
It will be AA Style in the (Examine, Talk, Move, Present) Way
It will have the court room, except you are on the stand. Still presenting evidence and objecting(well maybe not yelling 'objection' since the lawyers do that. but something like it), against both the defense attorney and the prosecutor.

I think that covers most of it. It's still on the drawing board.

The links, I thank you

How about playing as Ema on investigation, and playing as Lana in court? :hobohodo:

Lol! I'll help out with Pywright scripting if you wish and PWlib as I'm competent in both scripting languages.

Hehe, your idea was something I was going to enter for an AAO Competition. It was called "Ace Witness" and you found the truth from the witness stand.

I like the idea of playing as a witness, and Ema has always been a great character that I feel has been quite underutilized. I mean we had the one bonus case, and then she's showed up briefly in each of the later games.

SCIENCE

Good luck with the game, hope it goes well.

This sounds good. I take it you will be listening to the cross examination pieces of both sides and point out flaws or help them. Another idea is for them to question you a lot and you answer with answers provided.

I'd like to see a lot more science orienated involvement as well, much like the logic system but piecing together evidence instead.

I had already planned to go against both the defense and prosecution, I do like your idea on the logic system with evidence. Just not sure how to do that...

I had thought of this 'file system' where after your initial investigation you have to answer question based on the crime scene. (Cause of Death, Weapon(if found), etc) The result is a file which is used as evidence. Choose a wrong answer and you get a penalty.

YES!

Since she is involved with the science part of the investigation, all of the evidence the prosecution and defense use which is science related (fingerprints, autopsy reports, etc) could be created and provided by the player.

Maybe you have to take part a bit in things like the autopsy or doing dna matches, sort of like those CSI games.

Since she's not an attorney, and not likely to be on the witness stand for a long period of time, most of the game should be out of court. It might seem weird if she is sitting in the witness stand for a whole case.

On the other hand, if she were in the helper box (I think maybe this was what you were going for) having her team up with her sister could be fun too.

A lot of ways this can go really.

Having her co council with the prosecutor. Why didn't I think of that! Just going to the witness stand when needed.

So many ideas...head spinning...

Well, you could make the "File System" as a sort of Logic System, but with scientific facts about the case, instead of interpretations of the events.
Or better yet, that's the Court-Record! "Science File", "Notepad" (makes sense, since she's always writing everything down there), or something like that :P There, you could have profiles and, instead of evidence, "Notes" (which I'm sure could be done with a bit of customization in PWLib, maybe in PyWright too, I don't really know about it). These are like evidence, but aren't objects, they are facts that you gather during investigating. For example, "Cause of Death", "Time of death", "Murder weapon", or extraordinary facts like "Fingerprints were found in the victim's back", or "The victim was holding a banana". AND, you gather these facts by gathering "mini-facts". For example, to determine "Time of Death", you check how fresh the wound is and the tone of the victim's skin, and maybe sometimes a wirstwatch. You fuse these facts in some kind of Logic System screen, and voila! You get a fact "Note"'d down in your "Notepad"!
The thing is that I don't know what you should present these facts against...

OH, I KNOW!
You're the defense aide, no matter what attorney, you can decide that. And at the beginning of each case, the corrup prosecutor you fight gives his "Opening Statement", giving the facts of the murder. If any of these contradicts a fact you wrote down on your Notepad, you press a "Present" button, which tells the attorney to object. The "Opening Statement" is exactly like a Cross-Examination, maybe you could even add Pressing.
And the same with witnesses: They give their "Witness' Testimony", and if any of their claims contradict your Notepad, you tell the attorney to present it, and if not, he or she can press.

Investigating would, of course, include some kind of DNA matching system, fingerprints, and Luminol.

Woah, I was inspired! Personally, if I do say so myself, I loved this idea. It's all so scientifical, and matches up with Ace Attorney gameplay, and goes further! The Edgey game is AA + Logic? The Ema game is AA + Science. You could use either the AA or AAI sprite system and Investigations (though I reccomend AA style for simplicity), you decide.

I would definitely play this, and maybe even help with its development.

Love the Notebook idea, and the facts.
I'd just rather work with the prosecutor than the defense. Since detectives do.
I love all these ideas. Just not so sure how to script and work with them.

I think I need personal deadlines, to get my brain work. start with storyboard

I had an idea. Need a new character.
I dunno what they are called but the forensics people who do autopsys.
We need one so Ema can learn how in the game. Like a mentor or teacher.

Yea...

GENERAL QUESTION:
I was thinking that Maya was going to give you the :magatama-spin: and have the psyche-lock system. But now that everyone is talking about science over everything. I think I should forget that idea.

What do you think?

I thought you said Gumshoe was the mentor/guardian of Ema while she works. Makes sense as he is a detective.

He is the mentor of her during crime scenes, the ME will help with autopsys. because they know she wants to be a scientific investigator that they incorporate it into her work. Kinda a hybrid really.

For Forensic Doctor, you should create a new character. To keeps things fresh, y'know.

Now this thread is filled with brainstorming XD

Alright, I have been working on a basic schedule of how everything should work out.
As of the moment I am working on the storyboard (Just a foundation)
If you really want to help, and I mean really (Sprites, Backgrounds, anything) Please PM me
I don't want to give out my storyboard, because of spoilers so only people helping will get to see.
That is all...no it isn't
Once I am finished with the storyboard. if you want to help ask I will send you them (as I finish, I'm doing one case at a time) so if you want to look over or anything to give me you input just ask, K?
