I just saw it today. I'm sure there are people who will think it was just eye candy, but I thought it was fantastic! It moved a bit quickly, but I thought it was sweet and very awesome and just quirky enough.

And I found myself reciting "Jabberwocky" with Johnny Depp. And whenever they said "Frabjous Day" I said "Calooh! Callay!" XD
Spoiler:
And I was so happy when he finally said "Calooh! Callay!"

I lol'd when the Cheshire Cat started kneading on the hat just like a happy cat would. XD

The funny thing is, it's put out by Disney and it got a PG rating, but it's not really for kids. XD There's blood and a bit of violence and some creepiness and there would be many things that a kid would not understand. That doesn't mean they won't like it though.

Only a little bit. It's not like ZOMG BLOOD AND GORE EVERYWHERE. It's dark but not disturbingly dark.

Yeah, but still, I'm a bit protective of what my niece watches. Maybe when she's a few years older and understands more.

I saw the movie yesterday and thought it was okay. However the fact that we were in a theater with poor sound kinda made it hard to have a good experience. Ah well.....

I thought that the sense of scale was so impressive, what with Alice being like four or five different sizes over the course of the movie. I don't know how they did it when Alice was holding the Hatter's face and she was like 15 feet tall. Her hands dwarfed his face. Sure they could've gotten someone big, but those were WOMAN HANDS.

And the card soldiers were so awesome.
Spoiler:
AND CRISTOPHER LEE AS THE FREAKING JABBERWOCKY EHMAHGAWD. Too bad Alice cut off his tongue. D:

Spoiler:
Yeah, I really wanted to hear more Christopher Lee. He's one of my favorite actors yet he barely has any dialogue in this movie, so that kinda disappointed me.

They just ruined the trailers with Avril Lavigne screaming (far from singing) what seems to be the lyrics to the movie's "community outreach" song.

Other than that, I really want to watch this. Burtom + Lewis Carroll? Pfffthell yeah.

I'm a total Alice freak (I quote from it 24/7) and I can't wait to see it! I always thought the story itself was a little dark and teaming it up with Tim Burton sounds amazing <3

I was meant to see this on Friday, but all the tickets were sold out so I'm going to see it next Sunday instead.

I absolutely hated the book when I read it, I'm only going to see the movie because of Johnny Depp and Tim Burton. :nick:

Well, just in case everyone didn't get the message: This movie is based from "Alice in Wonderland" and "Through the Looking Glass", but it is really a sequel. This is why Alice is 19 and not a little girl.

I actually haven't read the books but apparently many people are confused about this point.

Saw it today. Alice herself was really dull, and Depp was just weird in an annoying way. Why wasn't there a musical song either? Seems like the Burton thing to do and they were very good in Nightmare Before Christmas.
Still, Stephen Fry <3

Saw it today, and OH GOD YES STEPHEN FRY COMPLETELY STOLE THE MOVIE

He was so cool and absolutely adorable <3 Especially when stealing the hat. Oh god, when he and Johnny Depp were in the same shot my head almost exploded from the awesome.

The Red Queen was pretty hilarious too, and I loved Anne Hathaway floating around everywhere. I liked Alice more than I thought I would, although yeah, she was really dull. And I will never forgive her for beheading my adorable li'l Jabberwocky~

I LOVE the movie! I think Tim Burton made a very good job creating a weird world, freaky and fascinating at the same time! And the cast! THE CAST!!! The cast was perfect!!!

Johnny Depp is a very good (and strangely sexy) Mad Hatter. Helena Bonham Carter is perfect like always. Alan Rickman is a very cool caterpillar. Anne Hathaway is stunning. Stephen Fry did a really good job giving a voice to the super-cute Cheschire Cat. And finally, Crispin Glover is more sexy than he ever was as the Knave of Hearts!

And, because I'm such a Harry Potter movie fan, I've even noticed that some of the actors play in one or more of the Harry Potter movie as well!
Helena Bonham Carter (Red Queen) is Bellatrix Lestrange
Alan Rickman (the Caterpillar) is Severus Snape
Timothy Spall (Bayar, the bloodhound) is Peter ''Wormtail'' Pettigrow
and France De La Tour (Imogene, Alice's aunt) is Olympe Maxime!
Godot and his coffee cup, an eternal love!

Honestly, I don't ever plan on wanting to see this movie. To hear that someone like Christopher Lee gets severely underplayed in a movie like this really makes me gag. If you're gonna use a legend like him, USE HIM.

I just went to see it. This film is AMAZING. Even though it obviously doesn't stick rigidly to the original Alice storyline, the characters and visuals are fantastic and even though I'm usually a total purist about book adaptations, I really enjoyed the interpretation of the plot.

All in all, a great film.
