I don't have an issue if people want to believe Edgeworth is gay, so long as they admit it's not canon, and that there's no evidence in the game for it. That's sometimes not made clear though.

Quote:
And for yaoi fan girls, it FULLY adds to the story him being in the closet. If he was actual openly gay I think people would be more "Uhh...". Hinting on possible gayness in game is much more fun that them just announcing it :)

[/quote]

I actually meant if it would actually add any depth to the storyline, and not merely speculation. That's the difference between he's gay, and would do anything for said character he's in love with, and he's gay, but so what? That doesn't change the story in the slightest; if he weren't gay, it doesn't make much of a difference.

I suggest you listen to Adrian on this one. This thread isn't a place to debate Edgeworth's sexuality. This is a place to fangasm over everything and anything Edgeworth.

I haven't posted here in ages -- since the last time I visited CR forums, like, over a year ago -- but I figured I should come back and reproclaim my love for Edgey since it was rekindled when I beat AAI a couple weeks ago.

Apparently, Edgeworth likes/knows about flowers?

Spoiler:
Toward the end of Case 5, he identifies the kinds of flowers in the photo of the ambassadors with the Steel Samurai. He tells Gumshoe he's learned the names because Oldbag sends him flowers once a month. And yet he doesn't know what passionflowers are until Franziska lectures him on them.

Spoiler: AAI Case 2
I love it when you are about to cross examine Cammy near the end of the case. Edgeworth says, "The only way I will get the truth out of her is by pressing her." Maybe it was the late hour talking, but I thought that was hilarious. It would have been funnier if he said it aloud and Fran whipped him. Also, I loved when he and Gumshoe got in trouble for complaining about the mess in Cammy's bunk and wanting to search through the ladies' lockers.

Yeah, I thought that Edgey knowing about flowers was a deliberate contrast to Phoenix not knowing them. Which is very good attention to detail, since you have to be looking hard to find the places where Phoenix is confused about flowers.

Remember Franziska's explanation of where the name "passionflower" comes from? It's accurate, and maybe Oldbag also knows it's a religious name rather than a romantic one.

That's probably true. I do love it when they deliberately make those contrasts.

Spoiler: GK Case 5
Much like how Edgeworth is a "ladder" supporter while Phoenix is "step-ladder" supporter. Though I was expecting Edgey to be a step-ladder guy, honestly.

Spoiler:
Yeah. I thought that he'd be really anal about those things. I can see him being a total grammar snob, and correcting everyone on everything. "That's actually a Whelk shell.... not a conch." (Or... maybe that's me. XD. But I couldn't think of a better example)

Oh yeah, Christ. But Oldbag is the type to read way too much into anything, so just maybe she could send a bouquet and say it's her "passion" for him anyway...? Haha, just kidding.

GUYS. I'm reading a book called The Truth Behind Santa. It gives perfectly reasonable scientific explanations about Santa's existence, from how he visits millions of homes in one night to how he hasn't yet had a heart attack from his milk-and-cookies diet.

I like his inner monologues. They're sophisticated and much more useful than Phoenix's or Apollo's.

I also like how almost nothing surprises him. Except for Larry and Oldbag.

I'm purposefully taking my time about finishing the game. I don't want it to end yet! (Seriously, I thought the first few cases were too short even if the ending of Case 3 dragged on a bit.)

Now that I've finished AAI. I realize now that Edgeworth truly is the mothereffin' Batman of the AA series.

Seriously I'd love to see Edgeworth fight Batman for his "Worlds Greatest Detective" title.

I just finished AAI... I didn't think I could adore Edgey any more than I already did, but apparently it is possible. His deadpan sense of humor is just brilliant, even if most of it is inside his head. I laughed out loud several times while playing the game!

I already enjoyed playing the bit as Edgey in the old PW game (can't remember which one at the mo, sounds like I need to replay them just for reference sake - oh the torture...) so I was very excited at this game. And I'm not disappointed! He's easily the most fascinating person in the games, he has oodles more character than even Phoenix himself, IMO!

I loved the third person prespective, especially the fact that the little sprites even did all the emotes of their close-up counterparts! Mini Tapping-Finger Edgey... <3 And at the very start of the third case, Mini Edgey sipping a tiny little cup of tea... Simply adorable. Though on a side note, Mini Wincing Gumshoe is also definitely cute.

Spoiler:
And Larry and Oldbag are actually funny in this game, as the only people guaranteed to throw icy-cool Edgeworth off balance! His reaction to them makes me laugh every time.

I only wish that we would see him freak out a bit more...
Spoiler:
...for example with the elevator/plane turbulence in case 2...
...but I suppose true angst isn't in the mission statement for these games. :edgy: Goodness I love this smiley! :edgy:

Anyway, where do I sign up to become an Official Edgey Fangirl? :gant-clap2:

Oh, and hi, I'm new here. :will: Please accept my gift. :cookie: :cookie: :cookie:

You're referring to T&T. :D and my personal opinion is that Edgey had more character because Nick was designed to be led around by the hand all the time.

And I completely second that entire second paragraph. <3

You know one of my most favorite Edgey moments in AAI has to be in case 5 when

Spoiler: case 5
He's all "I will never accept you as the real steel samurai dammit!" on Larry. Poor Edgey and his broken dreams. Plus Edgey trying to prove to Fransizka that Steel Samurai has depth to it because she kept giving him a hard time about it was hilarious.

Plus it was funny that with how annoying Oldbag is she really was the one to save the day for her Edgey-poo. XD
