After two long years...
...an update arrives!

Aaanyway, after some thinking I decided to reopen this thread; there's no use littering the forum with a new one and that way you can laugh at my old art, too. Well...There's nothing better to start a thread anew with than a little genderbend, right? ...right?

Spoiler: GK-5 characters

To remind everyone, all sorts of critique and feedback is welcomed and greatly appreciated. Don't worry about cluttering my thread up, I'm always willing to hear everyone's opinion on my work. And I'm a big girl now, I won't get offended. ;3

So...Consider this thread revived, I guess?

I've seen some of your works in the Colias thread, and I must say: Your drawing style is so clean and pretty. Plus, I think you're the only one that can make a genderbent Colias look hot. XD

Are you saying genderbent Colias isn't hot normally? :moe-laugh:

But, well...Some people just paste/remove boobs on/from a character and call it a day. I prefer to fool around with the concept; I find genderbending a fun way to reinterpret a character, thinking up how to make the general idea and personality work for a character of the opposite gender and still making them recognizable. 8D

Colias is always hot, genderbent or not. :hotti:
Well, you got so much emotion into the Manda and Colia Get it? I changed their names into girl names. Hur hur. instead of just simply draw them as female! It looks so great. :phoenix:

And that's the right mindset! :butzthumbs:

Thanks c:

I suppose with this name pun, simply altering Colias' name to sound female wouldn't work so well. She'd have to get a new name from a girly-sounding butterly, like Greta morgane or something. But that doesn't sound as nice as Colia Palaeno... and I'm taking this waay too seriously XD

She could be named Chela Abisara or Adonira Dodona. :adrian:

Maya's a fun character to draw. I had a lot of problems with her feet and they look odd even now. I have no idea how could I fix them. D:

Maya looks very cheerful and funny there! I love it~ The shadow with the pattern in it looks very well made, how did you do it?

*highfive*

The shadow was very easy to make. :) I took the texture from here and resized it to fit the image. Then I used the magic wand tool to select the area around Maya and delete the unneeded parts of the texture. After that I just moved the shadow behind Maya and voilà!

I admire how well you make flat colours work. That's something I never got the hang of.

And I love those genderbends. Colias is d'awwdorable no matter the gender. That Maya is so energetic and precious, too. There's something about her legs and feet that I really like.

Thank you very much! :D I started experimenting with flat colours quite recently, actually... I'm not very good at shading with a mouse, and since my tablet has broken down I tried to find a different way of making pictures. I'm glad it's been received so well.
