You have to use the Map Card on your Pokegear now, but I find it's much more convenient.

...Wtf? It shows me where Raikou is, too!? That makes it so much easier! Ugh, stop making the games easier and easier... T_T

They did the same thing in Gold and Silver on the Gameboy. :yogi:

Really? what kind of sinnoh/hoenn pokemon. I am intruiged. :damon:

As for froslass, I have a moveset of
Ice Beam
Blizzard
Destiny Bond
Protect

And it works fine. If a fire/rock appears, I just destiny bond it. However this only works if your froslass is REALLY EFFING FAST, which mine is.
If you do want a water move, Surf i think it a good choice. As CP said, simpler and stronger. BUUUT, that being said, it's kinda sucky in Double Battles if your partener is using something like a fire/ground/rock type.

As for where i am, practically beat the elite four, if i had 5 more revives and a couple more max potions, i would have done it. I'm not one for overusing items. I HATE KOGA'S MUK WITH A BURNING PASSION. I would love to have a muk like that in my team. It just confuses you, poisons you, and minimizes so even if you don't hurt yourself in your confusion you're likely to miss anyway. Destiny bonded it in the end.

She doesn't technically have a moveset yet, she's still a Level 1 Snorunt, but yeah, I'm going to EV train her in Special Attack and Speed. I was thinking of going with

Ice Beam/Blizzard
Shadow Ball/Ominous Wind

After that I have a few options: Water Pulse, Destiny Bond, Pain Split, Thunder Wave... All of those except Destiny Bond require either using a very rare TM, spending an obscene amount of time in Battle Frontier, or breeding, though.

Froslass can't learn Surf or of course I'd use that.

And there's too many Hoenn/Sinnoh pokes to name in Safari Zone. Pretty much anything you can't get in a swarm outside of starters and legendaries is there, though you need to place a specific number of objects in the area to lure them out, and some (Bagon, Gible, and Riolu come to mind) take days or even weeks to spawn. Serebii has a guide listing everything you can catch there and how to get them to appear.

-edit- Hahaha, best start to EV training ever. I went to Route 6 to grind Psyducks. First wild battle was against Latios. Threw a Quick Ball at it just for the hell of it, and it went right in.

If a Pokemon's in the Pokewalker and your game goes missing somehow (say, gets stolen along with a bunch of your other favourite games that were all sitting snugly in your DS case), how do you retrieve it - without killing it, if possible?

You mean if your walker is stolen? Or your actual Pokemon game? If it's the latter, I'm pretty sure you can't get your poke out of the walker into another Pokemon game..

I'm in the process of trading in everything that matters from my pearl game. Thats a box full of pokemon i've bothered to level up, etc. and some legendaries like arceus, cresselia etc, also rioulu and some other stuff i'd like.

Also then i'll delete my pearl file, then start a new one and trade in a turtwig, then delete that, start a new one and trade in chimchar. Then create my actual account i will use. Ahurhur.

I need some advice. :eh?:

I have a Vaporeon that I'm pretty pleased with, but I want to give him another move and I'm torn between two: Ice Beam and Hidden Power. I checked with the blond guy in the Celadon Game Corner and he said that Hidden Power would be Fighting type, which sounds pretty sweet. As of now, my Vaporeon has these moves:

- Surf
- Shadow Ball
- Aqua Ring
- Acid Armor

Acid Armor is the move I plan to get rid of because I want to focus a bit more on attacking (he's been EV trained in HP and Sp. Attack). I was thinking of Ice Beam, but 1) my Lapras already has it and she can put it to better use and 2) Hidden Power Fighting sounds nice because I don't have any Fighting moves on my main team yet. What do you guys think would work better?

Get rid of Aqua Ring instead.

HP's power depends on IVs. It's 70 power at max but only 40 power at min, so this would determine if it's a viable option.

I finally got a female Combee, and evolved it into a Vespiquen.

I kept breeding my combee until it hatched to a female egg, it was 3rd time lucky.
I wanted to call her '3rd time lucky' but it didn't fit so shes called 'Lady Luck' instead. ^-^

Uh, yeah agree'd with icer on that one, keep the acid armour and get rid of that aqua ring. I'd also recomend hidden power over ice beam, because if Lapras already knows it whats the point of getitng it on a second one in ur main team?

Oh my, I've done so many steps lately.

Today I did a grand total of 16,322 steps, taking my total to 79,106 steps. I've also collected 3,681 watts as well.

You guys flabbergasted or what?

I'm raising a Riolu at the moment, but its gone over level 37 (when Lucario lerans aura sphere) and still hasn't evolved. I know it evolves from happiness, but the best place fore me to level up is full of gravelers that selfdestruct on the first turn...uh! So I'm breeding another Riolu and giving it another shot.

Also, what do you think is a good moveset for Ambipom? Leveling one of them up too, its ust evolved having learnt double hit.

If your Riolu isn't at max happiness by Level 37, you're not focusing nearly enough on raising happiness. Give him a Soothe Bell, get haircuts every day (and groom him at Gary's Blue's house if you've made it that far in the game), feed him vitamins, take him for strolls, etc. Worry about grinding after you've maxed happiness; if he starts evolving before he learns a move you want him to learn as Riolu, you can always cancel out of the evolution. If you do it right, you can easily get a pokemon to max happiness before it even gets to Level 2. Might take a couple days, but hey, friendships aren't born in an instant.

As for Ambipom, uh, I dunno. Depends on what you want him to do, I guess. Obviously it can be a fast physical hitter, but it learns Agility, Nasty Plot, and Baton Pass, so it could be a Baton Passer, too.

*please note I traded in Riolu from Pearl when he was at level 30! should have said that... I have been giving him haircuts, he's holding a soothe bell and he's just evolved, right at level 38. However I used Heart scale to get Aura sphere back.

WHY the hell do you need 3 water pokemon in your team?
Aside from that:Why does Infernape has secret power and which one is it?
and thunder for Gengar is useless, I would use confuse ray instead

Uh, yes, I'd certainly get rid of Thunder, TTar's going to start a sandstorm, killing its accuracy down to... is it 50%? and I think Sunny Day may also reduce its accuracy? Gengar CAN'T take a hit.
Give Gengar Will-O-Wisp instead. I have no idea why this isn't standard.

Bellossom seems really out of place here. Not only is all its move types already covered by Infernape (who does the offensive job much better), but Sunny Day actually hinders the rest of the team! Tyranitar's Sandstorm and Sunny Day will collide. If Sunny Day is in effect, Tyranitar loses its Special Defense bonus. If Sandstorm is in effect, Bellossom loses health each turn, and since you have no continuous healing source such as Leech Seed, Ingrain or Leftovers, it has to be negated manually with one-turn healing moves, restricting the moves you're free to choose each turn.

Only Bellossom gets any effect from Sunny Day. And when it faints, what good will Sunny Day be to the rest of the team? Infernape gets a Flamethrower boost, but consider what the enemy will use to faint Bellossom. A super effective attack from a STAB typing, which means either a fire type or a flying type. Infernape doesn't have much of an advantage against fire types, and it's weak to flying types as well.

If I were you, I'd replace Sunny Day and Solarbeam with Leaf Storm (level 53) and either Sludge Bomb or Toxic. With the enemy losing health gradually from poison, draining moves and Tyranitar's sandstorm, it makes for a decent stalling set. Leaf Storm is more powerful than Solarbeam, can be used right off the bat, and since it lowers Sp. Attack, you can use it as a last resort move against something too powerful and switch afterwards.
Spoiler: Do a nice thing today,
Give your computer some love. <3

Actually Sunny Day was just because of Chlorophyll ability, and because of that I thought "Why don't I add Solar Beam?" But yeah, I guess your idea is better.

Sounds like a good moveset, however Its ability is Pickup...not technician.
Also, can you sugesst a good moveset for a vespiquen? I was thinking
Power Gem
Attack Order
Defense Order
Heal Order
Or can she be put to better use?

Plus, octillery can learn so many moves! It can even learn flamethrower which is really cool

If only he learend a bug move before megahorn T_T Nidorino sucked, but once I evolved him into Nidoking and gave him Earthquake he was pretty awesome (<3 toxic spikes, and using EQ on muk and Bruno's digging hitmontop) Magmar turned out to be a LOT more helpful than I expected (great sp. attack and speed w/ a charcoal'd flamethrower, plus he had confuse ray and smokescreen) but my number one guy was definitely Feraligatr :3 Ice Fang ftw (besides Pikachu for Gyarados, I basically just used Feraligatr and Magmar to beat Lance xD)

Anyway, yay! Now I'm going to be sufficiently underleveled for Kanto :D

Swampert's physical att. is far better than sp att. Unless it's a +sp att nature or something why not replace HP with Rock Slide (no wait, that's an egg move, is there a tutor in this game?) Stone Edge. The miss rate is irritating, but Swampert's defenses aren't so bad.

Swampert makes a good Choice Bander this gen, of course, you'd want to replace Ice Beam for that one.

Yeah, other than Gary Blue, I found the Kanto leaders a lot easier than the E4. Mostly because you can steamroll them with one or two pokemon their teams are weak against rather than fight five trainers with completely different types in a gauntlet.

Is there any difference between Synthesis and Moonlight? I'm thinking of raising another Bellossom, but I need to breed for Synthesis and Gloom learns Moonlight naturally, so I'd rather not have to mess with egg moves if I don't need to.

Well, doesn't the weather affect Moonlight? I can't remember right now, but I know that morning sun is affected by weather, so i dont see why moonlight shouldnt be.

Serebii says Synthesis, Moonlight, and Morning Sun all restore full HP during Sunny Day and 25% during other weather types, but it doesn't say how much they restore with no special weather.

Well I think its whatever you want. To save time I'd go for moonlight but if you want to heal a ton get morning sun/synthesis and sunny day.
