I was... thinking about entering the OC contest, but I entered last year and I entered a piece that I'd put alot of effort into and I found that I lost votes cause the picture was more Hotel dusk looking than ace attorney, so it got less votes. I can't enter that character again now, so I'm kinda really bummed about it all, and I don't like contests much anyway :( I'm trying out to be a judge instead. I'd much rather analyze art work than be judged on it :( I have a bit of a fragile ego right now that I'm trying to mend T.T I was thinking of entering my character Cottontail thoguh, but I think I may try next year. I'll have developed her character more by then maybe :) Do you have ideas for a character thoguh?

Thank you :), I actually though that Godot looks strange because the color is off and some details is missing because of my scanner
I saw your art thread just now and your drawing is really good! I can't actually draw realism even a bit, that's why I can't draw PW fanarts with my original style because it doesn't really fit the PW style
. Well, I already made some concept arts about the OC but I'm not really sure about the clothes design. Don't be sad just because you lost the competition >< Your drawing is really good and I don't think I can ever draw that good :O. I think you will make a really good judge as I've read the critique thread you made and your opinion is very detailed :D (btw, is it still open?)

I'm still not that good with my tablet so this picture is still kind of strange....
I found a thread talking about Swiss rolls yesterday and Have an urge to draw this ^^.
I love swiss rolls :)

You you can ask away in the crit thread, I'll answer you as soon as I can (It's a sticky topic in this thread) What's your normal style like? My normal style is nothing like the PW style XD Sometimes you just need to be a bit creative to use it. It'd be better if you used a style you were comfortable with.
The OC contest closes in June so you have tones of time. I'm not sad specifically cause of the comp... I'm just highly competitive, and I've been through a very stressful few years which made me nearly quit art. I'm just starting to crawl back into it so I didn't want to put myself through the strain of being judged- specifically cause my stress was ABOUT my art being judged. It's fine thoguh. I'll be back in full force next year :) I'm just fragile this time around >.>

If you're wanting to go sorta realistic... or atleast not manga like, then I could help you do that. I have alot of books and info on it. Manga styles is a little harder for me (There is alot of style over lap but the lineart side is difficult for me to crit). In the end, there's nothing wrong with your chibi (well- it's all more just super deformed rather than actual chibi cause the head isn't big enough to body proportions) style. It could use polishing, but it is what it is, and alot of people seem to like that. Is it how you want to draw. don't change it if it is. I know alot of people that do well with chibi styles. My friend Kylie has a style similar to what you're going for I think, but she has methods of finishing that make her pictures have a real artistic impact cause the lineart is just a SMALL fraction of a successful picture.
I say, decide now if you're happy with your style. Don't change for others. Change cause you want something different. When you've decided which way you're going, talk to me in the crit thread, and I'll see if I can guide you to your next step :) Sorry- I'd rather not crit here cause this thread is for SHARING art. Plus, the crit thread is there for purposely this exact thing :) Guiding artists on a path.

I want to change my style to something more realistic as it is hard to draw a lot of kind of person and most of my OCs looks similar -_-;
My friends said it is already good the way it is but I'm sort of not satisfied with it.
I think I'll be retaking my drawing course but if I managed to draw realism I hope I can ask your opinion about it :)

They only reason they look similar is because there's not much room for subtlety in chibi. I'm sure their personalities would come out more if they were drawn more realistically. Why don't you try drawing something from a photograph. Like... a celebrity or something? See how that goes. Be careful to look at what shapes everything is. I'd rather do this kind of crit in my crit thread though >.>

Are you using references? Because I think court-records has many great pictures, where yu can see how Miles' hair
actually look like. I always look there if it's getting hard for me to draw a specific character with just my mind^^;.

Yeah- I got accused of it just recently cause all my men had glasses on XD I admit- a good looking guy in the right glasses is more appealing to me than the same guy without <3 Zeth however wears glasses cause his father does.

Sorry! Yes, you're right :) Damon Gant. I based alot of Zeth's features off him. Zeth wears green glasses though :)
