UPDATE!

I'm replaying Rise from Ashes, and I felt like drawing Jake and Lana... It took a lot longer then it should have, but, I kind of like the result...
Not too long ago I came acros some drawing made by Yamineco, I liked the way the coloring was done, and read on her fanart thread that she used watercolous and watercolour pencils... I tried watercolour, and I'm really not good at it, so I had a go with the pencils... (I don't like digital colouring, 'cause I don't have a tablet yet)
Anyway: here's the result...

I think I'm being somewhat butthurt about this, but

1. While fanart is all great and such, it's really disappointing to see people ref or trace off existing official art. Does that count as 'fanart' or 'I have no imagination and can only copy what I see'?

2. Yes that Godot one looks traced, even if it isn't. Can't fault you for doing it cause it is one of the most widely copied picture in the fandom. I mean yes the man has a very nice profile but aargh stoppit.

3. I'll wait for you to do some original material before I provide any cc other than 'You really copy/trace/ref off others really well'.

Just gonna stand there and watch me burn?

But you are right: I don't have a lot of imagination, so I tend to copy stuff. I've tried different things, but it's really no good :edgeworth:

I think these are good-even though they are copied. I have to say that even though you are new to the syle, starting out, you have copied them very well.
Hoshi, I do side with you a bit on the fact that it is all copied, I think Pressly is just starting out doing this style, and is not yet ready to draw pictures that are not the same pose as official fanart, but don't get me wrong in saying that I do understand what you are saying.

If you are looking for help feel free to go to the crit thread. Arkillian is a great artist and I am sure she can help you with drawing~

I like your Iris ^^ You should give her a bit of colour with some coloured pencils to pop her red hair I think it'd looks really good with some color ^^

I copy too but I am trying to study bodies and face placement. And studying pictures helps me know like, "That's how fingers are drawn." So I use references for outfits. So we are learning together! Good job!
