I decided to give it a go with sprites. I hope you all like them. Though I have few. I have requested bases from other people and only have some sprite edits and an OC. More to come! If I'm not too busy!
You need permission to use these. And take with credit! Maybe you wouldn't but, you know.
One more thing! If you have criticism or tips, I would love to here them! Many sprite people who read this might enjoy the tips.

The OC, like you say is messy. There are a few bumps where there shouldnt be, and the lines in the dress look off for some reason I cannot explain.
Other than that pretty good.

1. Save as a PNG. Jpegs RAPE the quality of sprites.
2. I read that you downloaded Gimp. Just take the Magic Wand tool to remove the white background. It will make it look a lot better.

What I do is that I make my sprites in paint, and then animate in GIMP.
For animation help, Percei has a tutorial written somewhere.
Anyways, I like the OC! Keep it up!

Well, could you download it? I use a mac and use a different application to make images transparent. But, you can use GIMP to make the image transparent.
Or, you could go to pixlr.com's picture editor. It's free and online. They have a magic wand tool there too.

The sprite is good overall and I like it! There's a few things though that would make this sprite better. The head isn't really the problem area though it could use some more shading. The problem is the clothes. The lines and patterns on the dress are a bit sloppy. Now I don't know about GIMP but in Paintbrush (The software I use) it has a tool where you can draw a straight line and then bend it to make a straight and nice looking curve. The other thing is that the red areas need some shading because they just stick out from the rest of the dress. If you fix that it will be great!
