First of all, I thought this was better suited for the "Phoenix Wright" section of the boards (forums for JFA, T&T, etc.) but for some reason I'm unable to make a new post there. I'm new to these boards, so if there's a reason I don't know about, please let me know. Or it can be moved there.

Now, the reason i actually made this post. Like I said, I'm new here, so it's definitely possible this has already been talked about (I feel like I can't be the only one who's noticed it). If so, please link me to the relevant topic.

When we first meet Ema Skye, she has an unusual pin, to the left (her right) of her bowtie. It resembles a simple face, and it's accompanied by two other little pins:


Chronologically, the next time she appears the other little pins have vanished, but that face pin is still there:

It moved to the other side of her body, though.

But then she's in Apollo Justice:

and the pin is nowhere to be found.

Not on her, anyway. Where did it go?




What is HE doing with it? Is it possible Ema gave it to him? What purpose could that possibly serve?

Oh wait...


So, it seems our scientific investigator likes to do a little undecover spy work of her own. I guess the first question is why she didn't use it when she was abducted during the Joe Darke case - the video would have made great evidence. The two possibilities I can see is that she either didn't have it at that point, or good ol Gant went and erased it.

I would be interested to hear other theories/ideas, though.

I think it's mentioned that Phoenix had her customise it to be a camera badge....meaning at one point (probably before it was in Phoenix's possession) it was just a badge.

It should be after T&T and before Wright getting disbarred.
Judging on how Ema didn't know about Wright getting, well, a hobo.
Or am I making this up? I'm pretty sure she was surprised and angry when Justice told her the big news.

Edit: and then, before visiting Kristoph, he probably has put there a camera himself.

There is a cut scene near the end of the game where Phoenix uses it as a camera to capture the meeting he had with Kristoph.

My point is that the segment didn't state that anyone gave the pin to Phoenix (and no segment does, IIRC). I used my incredible deductive skills to figure out that it likely came from Ema.

Just wondering if anyone has more thoughts about when and why it happened.
