Second of all, about the newspaper -- x3 That is so awesome!!! I would've loved to see that.
The only AA reference I've ever snuck into I've ever submitted for school was once in government class; we had to make a brochure about "The Guiding Principles of the American Legal System." One of these principles is the "adversary system," which ensures that every party involved in a case has the right to legal counsel, and that proper court proceeding must involve both a defense attorney and a prosecuting attorney between whom the central debate will occur. For the illustration, of course... I drew Phoenix vs. Edgeworth. I'm sure my teacher raised an eyebrow at it while grading it; it wasn't very subtle that I was referencing something. No one without a fangirl agenda would think of representing lawyers with spiky hair or pink suits. ...But I got a good grade, anyway.
The weird thing is... I hadn't even played AA yet. I was in the stage of "I've heard so much about this game and it sounds awesome and I know I'll love it and I must play it sometime but for now I'll just pretend I play it by referencing it randomly"...
I have a list of kanji I need to learn for Japanese class, but the first ones I decided to teach myself were 異議 = the igi in "igi ari!" / "objection!"
(...which obviously wasn't on the list. xD) But 待った (= "hold it," actually the command form for "to wait") was written on a worksheet for the class!
So I drew an explosion bubble around the word, and a finger pointing to it.
On another worksheet, of katakana phrases, there was also ロジック ("logic")... next to which I doodled a little
.More reasons that IKIPTMPW...
- refusing to cut my bangs because I'm having too much fun pretending to be
- digging up a piece of red cellophane from the garage just to look through it and get a taste of
vision- setting the Steel Samurai theme as my cell phone ringtone...
- ... and then missing a call because I happened to be also listening to the Steel Samurai theme on the computer through headphones and couldn't hear the ring!!
- using my middle finger to push up my glasses
- grinning like a fool every time I see a stepladder... or whenever I read/hear the words "contradiction," "prosecutor," "attorney," etc...
- When my mom asked for me to "quick, give me two more random numbers to use for the lottery," the first ones I thought of were 12 and 28. The ticket turned out to be a loser. No surprise; that isn't a particularly lucky date... Should've picked something with happier connotations. ...On the same note, by the way, I'm kind of planning to have my own little personal memorial service on 12/28...

I do that all the time, e.g. when Mia was murdered I made it so that
got there early and clobbered with "The Thinker" and got away with murder on the grounds that Redd was a jackass. Not that that would happen, but I can dream...What was the name of that fanfic? I want to read it! XD

Ok so my sister, me, and my dad were all in a car and my sister says "have you ever played a game where-" and than I interrupted her there and said "Where your a lawyer and you defend people YES! I play it all the time!" she got mad and than started her sentence over again and was interrupted again at the same spot only it was my dad that interrupted her this time and he said "Where you yell Objection!, Hold it!, and Take that! all the time yes she plays it all the time!" and of course my dad was pointing at me....

My mom recently brought a stepladder into the house to change some lightbulbs (it clearly had two self-supporting halves, and was clearly even labeled "Step Ladder" on the tag on the side), but she constantly kept calling it a ladder.
"A what?" I would challenge her.
"A ladder," she would repeat.
"A what?"
"A ladder."
"A WHAT!?!?"
"Oh, uh...a stepladder. *rolls eyes*"
"That's right. *emphatic nod*"
It took her three or four prompts each time, and we had that exchange at least five or six times throughout the day. xD I can't believe she didn't start catching on sooner.
I'm not sure whether this is a sign that I play too much Phoenix Wright, or that my mom simply doesn't play enough.
