Chase scratched his head. "Um... I dunno... We usually just carve the trees as new recruits come in." He rubbed his chin in thought. "I... I guess you..." He had no idea what to say.

"D-Don't worry about it... I can make a hammock or tent or something..." Migoto said. What she really wanted to ask was 'could I stay here?' but the words could not come out no matter how hard she tried. Maybe that was better. From the way she's been acting lately, it was probably best if she was in a tent.

Chase shook his head vehemently. "No way! I couldn't let you live in a freakin' tent! This is the forest, there's animals that like to kill things out there. What if you just stayed here? I mean, I could go and steal another bed somewhere, because we're not gonna share mine, especially with how it looks..."

Chase's bed was a queen sized heart-shaped mattress he took from a motel one evening to spurn a rich executive who was cheating on his wife. It was kind of ironic that he slept alone in it, but that didn't matter. "You can use mine, I'll just sleep on the floor, I guess. Or, I could gather some leaves together and spread 'em out. Yeah! I'll be right back!"

Migoto just stood there, stunned to do anything. Everything Chase had said became "gajjevjdiaihfuwkbsh leaves!" then he was gone. She honestly had no idea what was going. So many questions popped up in her head. First of all, did that bed have "magic fingers"...? Wait! After catching herself, she truly questioned her sanity.

Chase returned about ten minutes later with an enormous armful of leaves. He placed them on the floor and scattered them about, laying down on top of them and exhaling relaxedly. "It's comfortable... Little itchy though," he noted.

Chase smiled and closed his eyes, trying to fall asleep while thinking about the plans for tomorrow. It took him a good twenty minutes because he was so excited, but he eventually calmed down enough to rest.

Meanwhile, at the police station, Detective Floyd Ambrose was at his desk, poring over some files. He sat up and lit a cigarette, sighing wearily and putting his head in his hands. He was studying some crime scenes connected to the Hoods, and the news of Migoto Murasaki returning the Peruvian Eye was bothering him tremendously. Suddenly, an officer opened his door, holding a paper.

"Sir, we have a report of a theft uptown, a priceless ruby stolen from Senator Gordon's home." Floyd eyed the boy. "Sounds like a Hood job. Any witnesses?" "One man says he saw a kid running from the house." A kid? Floyd thought. That's low, Chase, even for you. "Send a few patrol cars and get me as much information as you can." The officer nodded and walked away.

There was a rumor that circulated around the sophisticates for a long time that Migoto was extremely beautiful when she slept and almost irritable to kiss.

Whether this true or not was unkown.

Migoto had fallen asleep on the bed. Her hair was in messed up yet still in a pony tail. Her face looked relaxed, which was hard to find when she was awake because she was always calculating and thinking.

Chase awoke at his usual time, about four in the morning, and rose from his leaf-bed fully awake and ready to begin his day. After eating his bowl of Sugar Puffs, he got dressed in a red hoodie and jeans. He suddenly remembered that Migoto was staying with him. He walked over to the bed and saw her sleeping peacefully. She really was a beautiful girl when she slept.

He smiled and couldn't resist looking at her for a few more minutes before tearing himself away and stepping outside for a moment to breathe the fresh forest air. It was still dark outside, but he didn't feel right about just leaving while Migoto slept. He sat down and began to write a note, stealing glances at his guest from time to time.

Migoto stirred a little bit and sat up.

There was a second rumor that spread about Migoto when she woke up; she could not control what she said or didand had no memory of anything she did.

"Chase..." she said sleepily as she rubbed her eyes, "Where are are you...?"

Chase looked up at the sound of Migoto's voice. He was stopped mid-note, but he assumed it wasn't necessary now that she had woken up. "I'm right here!" he said, standing up and walking over to the side of the bed.

Those rumors were completely true. Should have no memory of this later.

Chase was confused, and didn't know what to do. "Uh, Migoto? Are you..." he trailed off and just hugged her back. She smelled nice, he noticed. After a moment, however, he realized that she was pretty out of it. He grabbed her shoulders and looked at her face. Her eyes were closed. "Whoa, she's sleep-hugging!" he muttered.

But if she was asleep, he could say whatever he wanted anyway. "I really like you too, Migoto," he said, not sure if it was to her or himself at this point.

Chase nodded, unsure if this was really getting through to her. She seemed very strange, in almost a hypnotized state. "I do mean it," he answered in a low voice. Her eyes were open, but he got the impression she didn't really see anything right now, consciously at least.

Kieran just woke up. It was 4:45, the usual time he woke up. As soon as he got his training clothes and dressed, he went to the training room carved within his tree. Said room was carved by himself alone.

He started to train with his sword, then moved on to knife work, and eventually finished with archerery. Unlucky for Renee, who lived next to him, the sounds of him training were really loud, and that was the reason why he was the only person that lived in that area of the forest.

After he finished his training, he bathed, got dressed, ate breakfast, and headed straight for Chase's tree.

"Morning boss. Do you have a new mission-- ......what's going on in here?"

Then Migoto did something every unexpected. She leaned closer and kissed Chase. If she was fully awake she would punch herself. But she would never remember this either.

Chase flinched for a second, but stayed still, his eyes widening. He was elated that this was happening, but at the same time felt bad for taking advantage of her as she wasn't in a right state of mind. He let the kiss last for a second longer and then backed up. "I'm sorry, but you have to wake up first," he said, touching her cheek with the back of his hand. He led her back to bed and laid her down, covering her up and laughing softly in the quiet of the room.

"............. I guess I'll just leave," said Kieran as he jumped to another tree. He was.... surprised at what he had just seen. His boss Chase and ex-enemy Migoto hugging, and then kissing. He jumped from tree to tree and eventually returned to his tree, the image of them kissing still fresh in his mind.

"Okay..." Migoto replied softly. She fell back asleep within minutes, returning to her beautiful state of sleep. When she will wake up again, she would be back to normal.

Chase stepped outside and sighed, smiling. He saw Kieran jumping away, however, and his smile vanished. Chase jumped down from his tree and sprinted to Kieran's, bursting through the door and confronting him. "Kieran! Were you just at my tree?" he asked right away.

Migoto woke up and did not remember anything that had happened earlier. She got out her stuff and began to get ready. She brushed her hair and teeth and put on her make-up then went to look for chase.

Migoto walked along the forest looking for Chase. Because it was still pretty early, she didn't call for him. As she walked, she looked at all the different tree-houses. Being a city girl all her life, she still couldn't get over the fact that she would be living in a tree. She wasn't a woodland critter or a bird. There were things she needed. A shower, hair dryer, Computer... Oh! There he is! She ran up to the two guys talking.

"There you are!"
