Markus looked at the girl. He hoped she would be fine here. Not because he cares for her, but because he didn't want the girl attacked while he was gone.

He knew she could take care of herself, so Markus went and walked with Chase. He stood back for a while before approaching.

"Yeah, the anger. Feels nice doesn't it. Not that you self righteous Sherwood punks would admit to it."

Now Migoto made Chase angry at her. This was officially the worst rescue ever. She climbed up the telephone pole and ran along the wires, making her way back to the tree. Wendy was so happy to see her. With lots of purrs, she greeted her mommy with lots of love. Migoto couldn't resist. She had to pick up the cat, taking her to the bed and snuggling with her

Chase stopped. "What the hell are you talking about?" he asked bitterly. He was still confused as to why Markus was suddenly here and talking to them as if nothing had happened.

As she laid on the bed, Migoto felt terrible for acting that way to Chase. She grabbed her cell and dialed him up and left him a voice mail.

"Ch-Chase... I'm sorry I was so... Mean... I was just so upset with myself and I took it out on you. I'm so sorry Chase. I love you more than anything, okay? I love you, Chase..."

Chase's phone rang, but he ignored it for the moment. He ran a hand through his hair and looked down at his feet. "I know you're right. But I've never killed anyone before. As much as I hate that guy, I still don't think I can do it. But killing him is the only thing I can do to stop him."

Migoto set her phone aside. She hoped she didn't cause any irreparable damage. She loved Chase to death! Tears began to fall down her cheek as she thought about how she ruined their relationship. "I-It's all my fault..."

Chase looked at the gun and knew that Markus was right. He was saying what Chase was thinking. There would be no end to this with Grant still alive. He sighed. "I know. Just... Try and find him. I've gotta think about it." He walked away, through an alley to the front of the casino, and pulled out his phone. He heard the message Migoto had left and smiled, despite his injury, and mood. He called her back. "Hello? Migoto?"

Chase leaned against the wall of the casino. "Migoto, relax. You haven't ruined anything. I love you too, I was just kinda angry, getting shot and all that," he said in a low voice. He was starting to feel lightheaded, but her voice helped him.

Chase shut his eyes. "I don't wanna hear about you touching his balls, Migoto, not even with your foot," he said quickly. "Look, I just wanna go over there and sleep. Call Sylvester and tell him to meet me there. I don't care what's smart right now. I'll be there in five minutes." He hung up the phone and called for a car to take him to the entrance of the forest. One man stopped and let him in, mostly because he had a gunshot wound, and dropped him off at the entrance of the forest. He stumbled to the tree and climbed up, ignoring the concerned thieves and smiled when he saw Migoto. "Hey," he greeted groggily.

Migoto hopped up and hugged him. "Let me at least wrap that up...." she said as she went to find the gauze. The house was still a mess from the earlier battle. "here it is!" she came back and wrapped up the wound. "And I'll call Sylvester." she pulled out her phone and dialed him up. "Hey, Chase came back home. Can you come over and fix is wound?"

"I'll have to bring over a doctor this time." Sylvester began to explain in a concerned manner, leaving the silent casino and sitting upon his motorcycle. "The bullet's still there and when we operate, he'll feel it. Every second of it. I'll get an expert to extract the fragments and clean up the entry wound. Then he'll need a lot of rest. That's the difficult bit."
Sylvester turned the key in the ignition and set off slowly, watching the traffic go past him as he signalled impatiently. "I have to go now. Oh, I also had one of the guys feed Wendy. So don't worry about that. Seeya."

Chase fell over onto the bed and closed his eyes, not exactly looking forward to the operation. Bullets hurt. Thankfully he didn't have to worry about an infection because the bullet basically cauterized the wound anyway, but the pain was intense. Worse than the last injury by far.

Chase shrugged. "Whatever. I've got a pretty high tolerance to pain," he said, caring little at that moment. He was exhausted. His eyes drooped, but he tried to stay awake and just rest. "'Sides, how bad could it be?"

Chase suddenly felt uncomfortable. "Yeah, I know... But I don't want you anywhere near him. It's my fight. If anyone's gonna end it, it has to be me. Trust me on this one, Migoto." He didn't want to see Migoto corrupted like this, even out of love for him. He would rather do the deed than have Migoto live with it.

Chase sighed. It was a very long story. "Well, it all started when I went to London to steal some fancy European motorcycles. As it happens, the police there don't really like that sort of thing either, so I get thrown in jail. While I was inside, this other guy came in for grand theft auto. He also kinda looked like me, so we started talking and turns out we both like stealing vehicles. So we broke out and teamed up, stealing everything we could see. It was really fun for a while." He swallowed. "Then, it got outta hand. Grant told me he wanted to see if he could steal a fighter plane. I said it was stupid, but he went ahead anyway. I didn't stop him, and he flew out, shot down a blimp, and killed a whole bunch of people. I told him it was a bad idea, but he just laughed. I had to stop him, so one day we went out to steal a tank, his idea. We broke into a hangar through a window we needed to work together to get to, and I left him in there to get nabbed. Then I came over here," he finished.

"All he wants is to screw up my life. I don't know what he would've done with you, but I don't want to think about it."

Markus sat in his car, looking through his contacts on his phone. He would call Yuui, but that would only end badly. He didn't have many contacts unfortunately. That's when he remembered one person who owed him a favor.

"Harrison Walton Solo, I'm cashing in a favor," he said into the phone.

"What? Why do I owe you favor?"

"Remember that postal inspector I killed? The one who almost noticed the illegal weaponry you were smuggling across the border?"

"Oh... right... what is it you want? You need some more weaponry?"

"No, I need you to find a newcomer in town. He's crazy. A friend of mine called him Grant."

"You have friends?"

"You know what I mean. Just find out a location and get back to me as soon as possible." Markus hung up the phone and threw it onto the passenger's seat. All that he could do now was wait.

Chase smiled. "That's a relief, at least. But that doesn't mean I'm not worried for you. Just promise you'll let me handle him."

Meanwhile, on the other end of town, Grant hobbled up to the abandoned apartments he and his monks used as their base of operations. They had a thing for squatting, it seemed. Grant knocked on the door urgently. Quin Dao emerged and brought him in, speaking rapid fire Tibetan, but Grant ignored him. "Give me the kit!" he growled, and they obliged, sitting him on a table and opening the kit. Inside was a special powder, which they applied to the wound after removing the bullet and stuffing a rag in Grant's mouth. He screamed, and the pain was beyond intense, but the powder filled the wound and closed it, fixing all the nerve and muscle tissue in his knee. After the ordeal was over, Grant leaned back. "That is the greatest and most painful thing I've ever seen," he muttered, sweating profusely. However, he couldn't help but smile. "Now, back to business."

Migoto smiled. She knew that Chase wasn't going stop worrying about her, but she wasn't going to stop worrying about him. "He broke on of the milk bottles..." She said, opening the fridge and getting a bottle for Chase. "I'll clean it up right now, okay?"

Migoto shook her head and smiled. Chase was such a strange man. She picked up the broom and began to sweep up the broken glass. Once that was done, the took some paper towels and wiped up the milk. When done, she threw the towels away. "There. All cleaned up. Did you want something to eat to get your blood sugar back up? You HAVE lost a lot of blood in the past couple of days..."

Once again, Sylvester pulled up by the treehouse. On this occasion, however, he had brought a man in a dark trenchcoat with him. they climbed up and stepped inside.
"Migoto, Chase." Sylvester found them and walked over, gesturing to his guest. "This is Dr. Tambor. He'll be your surgeon today--" He was given a look by the man. "Oh, that's your bit..."
Tambor spoke up. "Hi, my name is Thomas Tambor and I shall be the surgeon operating on you today." He pulled out a thick, fluffy rag. "You'll need this, my friend."

Chase snatched the rag out of his hand resignedly. "Let's just do this quick, alright? Migoto, I don't want you to be in here." He bit down on the rag hard and winked a Migoto, then closed his eyes. "Go ahead," he said, muffled by the rag.
