It's not true love because I only fell for him after he told me he like me. No one have ever told me that, so I was a bit overjoyed.
I immediately thought it was love, but being away from him gave me some time to think. The problem is settled now.

So lately in order to get out of a dating rut I decided to join a dating website and to just go all out in sending friendly messages to women in the hopes of sparking some chemistry. I went out on seventeen dates with fourteen girls in three and a half months, which was...insane. (I'm now in a cooldown period as I'm zeroing in on exams, will likely restart things in January.)
I learned three crucial lessons from this process:
1: I'm actually far better than I thought I was in the dating game; it's mostly just about confidence, so if you act like you know what you're doing and express a passion in your lifestyle you've already won half the battle...
2: Despite all the stereotypes I've read about on dating's websites, women can be just as indecisive, if not more indecisive, in relationships than men; it's been weird to have frequently been the guy who's more than willing to commit to a long-term romance and learn that the women I'm attracted to often do not share that interest...
and 3: Oftentimes the worse a first date appears to be going, the better it's actually going, which is somewhat counter-intuitive but has been true virtually every time. The three women most interested in seeing me again after our first dates were all women who acted comparatively shy and disinterested in me; turns out the shyness and the moments of awkward pauses were actually good signs, indicators that they were interested enough to feel pressured into giving 'perfect' responses.
Unfortunately, I have a tendency to be somewhat literal and interpret 'good chemistry' as a good sign, but nearly every girl with whom I immediately 'hit it off' with easy conversation actually felt it was easy to engage with me on a first date because they knew straight off that they weren't attracted to me or felt no spark, so then the pressure was off and they could just goof off without risking anything.
But, now to my question: Anyone have any good tips as to how to end first (and second) dates? I'm great with introductions and I'm solid with conversations but I just plain suck at conveying interest (or disinterest) in a woman properly during that awkward moment when the date ends. If I like her, how do I convey just how much I want to see her again, and how do I accurately gauge her reciprocation? (Because I've noticed in first dates most girls will say they want to see me again, out of politeness, whether that's actually true or not.)
I'm also horrible at interpreting the physical cues, like whether she's expecting to end the date with a hug or a kiss or just a handshake. (I often end the date -- even dates that go comparatively well -- with no physical contact at all, because initiating physical contact in a playful and non-intrusive way is just something I am bad at. I have an extroverted friend who's just brilliant at it, and could basically get away with embracing total strangers due to his effusive energy, but sadly I've never quite mastered his skillset.)

To your question, I think it might depend on what you're doing for the date? If it's dinner or a movie or something like that, ending it would be really simple. Once you're done with it, simply let her know if you want to see her again: "I enjoyed this, and would love to go out with you again sometime" or something like that would be my guess. Then to gauge reciprocation perhaps you could try talking with her on the phone later on or something? See how interested she is in talking to you and all that?
I can't give the best advice since I LDR and I've only been on a handful of dates. I'm also bad at interpreting physical cues. Speaking LDRs, I'm in one right now, so I guess I'd say that we both have made some improvements in our respective love lives, right?

I've only had two instances where a girl has liked me. One time it was during elementary school. This girl who I didn't even know existed apperantly liked me. I didn't find out about this until I was in 7th grade.
I was so oblivious to it. The second time was when this girl I knew liked me for three days. I knew she liked me but the feeling wasn't mutual. She actually kinda creeped me out. .-.
So yeah, I've never really been the ladies man. I hope that I do end up being with someone at some point though.

The strange thing is I don't even realize they're lesbians at first.
For a while I used to wonder if they've just told me they swing the other way to let me down easy when I ask them out. Now I just think I have some sort of aura that causes me to fall for lesbians without consciously knowing they are.
