There are two types of cellphone plans. The first, is via contract. You agree to pay a fixed amount per month, for a given period. (2 years is the norm?) The 'advantage' with this plan is that you have the option of having your phone subsidized. However, more often then not, you pay a lot more in the long run this way, even and especially counting the savings via subsidizing. Family plans also fly under this banner.
The other, is contract free. You pay in advanced for the minutes you intend to use. To 'recharge' your phone full of minutes, you can buy a phone card, which is little more then a gift certificate for your phone. The disadvantage to this plan, is that you get to see how much the phone companies cover for your subsidized phone. (That 'free' phone, just became $200, $300) But, for the same two years under contract, you actually come out ahead, even if you buy that new phone.

Usually statements like "we don't have any plans to do xyz" don't worry me, because they say such things all the time when there are no concrete plans. But the guy also said: "Because I REALLY need to play it in English @_@." So I guess he already knows they will never localize this game.

Could it be the sub v dub issue is the stumbling block? Subbing isnt the same as "localising" and if you cut the dialogue out, it would just be silent, but where would they find good English VA's?

Honestly, in those regards, the game is kind of disappointing. The 3D effect is very poorly implemented. During dialog scenes (obviously a huge portion of the game), the characters are 3D models, but they are completely flat. It creates a very ugly 3D effect where the room they're standing in is 3D and has 3D depth to it, but the characters are like 2D paper cutouts from a depth standpoint, but they also happen to be 3D models. Very jarring and sloppy looking.
Navigation around the rooms also feels extremely clunky. Putting the focus on the top screen, you now have to control a cursor with the analog slide pad, and it's very jerky in its movement. The camera moves with it and is really stiff feeling, and doesn't allow for natural movement of the first person view (it only allows straight 90 degree angle movement of up/down and right/left). Very unnatural and super clunky feeling.
One nice thing is the abundance of voice acting now in the game. It's nice to at least see the production value in the audio department getting a boost compared to 999.
I'm the game will still be great though, as like 999, the story is where it's at with these games.

And as a contrast another review of the demo:
My thoughts: (almost completely disagree with what Mario said)
Visuals: Character designs look great. Not much to say about the background, though due to the location of the game it can't be helped I guess. The models used are 3D, and have a nice subtle effect with the 3D on, similar to how the 3DS Layton does it. The character interaction parts where their head appears in a frame is remimiscent of the tales of series.
Audio: Didn't pay much attention to the bgm, but it was suitable. Voice acting is done great imo. Gives the characters more personality.
Controls: Don't use the face button for controls. Looking with the slidepad is a bit clunky and not natural. Use the stylus/touchscreen for this game. It feels much better and controls easily.
Story: Since it was a demo, there wasn't much of the story detailed, but from what's given, I like it. There are some humourous parts in the story and during character interactions as well.
Other:
Opening intro video is awesome.
The dialogue scenes are really well done and are perfect with the voices.

Also, I read a post on Neogaf saying apparently the reason for the "we have no plans" thing from Aksys could be because companies in Japan dont like to talk to other companies about Western release until the game been out for a while. Maybe Chunsoft won't talk to anyone until sales numbers are in.

Honestly? Just from taking a look at the female characters, I'm almost 100% sure I'm not going to like any of them. Alice and Clover look way too fanservicey, Luna looks okay except I'm sure she'll end up being the usual "I'm such a klutz, I need someone to protect me!" character (and by "someone", I mean "Sigma". The trailer pretty much confirms this. Ugh), and Phi... well, I don't know. The whole "lying about the size of her breasts" thing doesn't make me very hopeful, but who knows.
I probably should stop expecting so much from Japanese media when it comes to female characters. >_>

I've got somewhat similar views on Luna vs the other fan service girls. But I disagree with the conclusion. A perverted writer is going to want one of the nudists to need an emotional crutch.

Now here we are noticing that many (if not all) of the new characters in Good People Die have a suspicious amount in common with the original nine. I would be very disappointed in the staff if they weren't able to see these assumptions we have for the new nine coming from a mile away and didn't plan accordingly. Seriously, have some faith. Besides, even if they do turn out to be pretty similar to the original nine, I sincerely doubt they will be straight-up retreads.
