Just a general topic where you discuss the various aspects of Dark Souls.
What's your playstyle? Favorite types of weapons? What Covenant are you in? Where are you stuck in? Are you constantly being invaded by dicks? etc etc.

My first character is a lvl 60 Thief who uses polearms. Early on I killed a Black Knight Lancer and I got his Halberd which is what I've been using lately since it usually 1-3 hits everything. I'd like to join the Darkwraiths Covenant since those are the ones that let you invade hapless denizens of Dark Souls, but as of right now I'm part of the Chaos Servants.

Aww man I'd like to join those folks who punish the invaders because getting invaded sucks. First time it happened to me I had no clue I was just like "Well hi there, how are you in my world?" *fireball'd* Which kinda sucked. Tried it once myself XD got the back stabbed right out of me, I forget that works two ways.

I'm getting by with a Battleaxe and a shield plenty of damage and blocking there. Also considering dabbling with miracles more but when Estus flasks make such good heals I'm not sure how much I'll need magical heals.

To be able to join the Darkmoon Blade, you need to get the Darkmoon Seance Ring from the Catacombs. Have fun! I ran through hordes of skeletons, skeleton archers and giant skeletons where I reached a crypt holding the ring. Because of the regeneration of the skeletons I booked it back towards the ladder while singing the Indiana Jones theme. Surprisingly I made it out alive.

I don't use miracles, so I can't really say anything about them but do you kindle the bonfires? That's makes the Estus even more awesome, also have you reinforced it?

Yeah I'm kindled and reinforced once so they do good but the catacombs just look too dark I can't see where I can go shortly after I get in the entrance.

Edit: Got that ring you told me about unfortunately I didn't survive long after getting it couldn't find a way out of that damn pit but hey items are kept and I didn't lose massive souls so I'm ok with that.

The catacombs are nowhere near as dark as the Tomb of Giants that follows directly after it. But to remedy that problem use the Skull Lantern. You may or may not have either found it or gotten it as a drop from the Skeleton Lantern guys.

I started a new character to play co-op with my buddy since my main is too high to play with him. So we're goin about business in the Undead Parish and we get invaded 2/3 times. We lost each time so we had to start ALL over from the beginning. Buncha dicks. I'll join your guys' ranks soon!

Hmm I heard this game was crazy awkward to Co-op specifically on because of the way the game assigns servers.

Also I made progress. Apparently Catacombs are easy if you know how to kick. Also found a hidden entrance to the Tomb of Giants...via a coffin...wasn't really prepared to go there so I backtracked and...well...I ended up beating up Pinwheel and fighting some....Gaping Dragon....l'll try again tomorrow with lighter armour for running.

Also finally started wielding my Zweihander, pumped points into strength for it so...hopefully it'll be worth it even if it's slow.

My friend and I managed to play Co-op together since we're both in the Way of the White covenant which emphasizes co-op. Hidden entrance to the Tomb of Giants via a coffin? Even I hadn't found that... I went through the Catacombs like a normal person and beat Pinwheel and THEN went there.

I'm still rockin my Black Knight Halberd, but since it's fully upgraded I can't do anything with it now which makes me sad. I wanted to give it lightning. I may end upgrading some of my other weapons and then ascending into boss weapons see where that gets me.

I'm not really sure how upgrading works in special ways other than "Pour titanite into this, give it a higher number on the end" didn't know you could mod lightning on them.

Though yeah in the Catacombs you can get to this big tomb or crypt which is in comparitively decent condition compared to the rest of the place and there's one of those headless one-legged demons with giant fork/tridents (like the one that guards Darkwater Gardens). I ran past him to get a prize though it's a relatively narrow corridor prize wasn't exceptional something like 3 eyes of death. To escape I hid in the coffin since it wasn't an ideal place to fight him. Sure enough he started wandering back to his start thing but if you stay in there long enough a cutscene triggers as someone closes the lid on you then transports the coffin to the tomb of the giants. Someone left a Soapstone sign saying "Covenant ahead" by it though I was too nervous at that point in time as I'd heard horrible things about the tomb of the giants so I just turned around and hopped right back in the coffin.

Oh right that coffin... through that I joined the Gravelord Servant covenant which gives you a miracle and a pretty nice greatsword. I killed that Titanite Demon too. You made it sound like you could just skip to Pinwheel via that coffin or maybe I just missed some sort of entrance in that cave or something.

Upgrading works like this: Pour Titanite shards into a weapon to get it to +5, then you can ascend that weapon to stuff like Raw, Magic, Divine, Chaos, Fire, Lightning reinforcement etc etc. Each reinforcement has different attributes and such. I'm still getting the hang of it myself.
