OOH OOH! I DIDN"T! ( It took me about a month though XD)

But I used a walkthrough for just about everything in T&T because it was my first game.

Well, I did for JFA as it was my first game, and that's considerably easier.

I save at the beginning of each cross examination and before attempting psyche-locks (though I've played through T&T and the Mason system so many times I don't need to anymore), though I've never used a walkthrough, besides watching the entirety of GS1 and 2, since I don't (and probably will never) have them, to enjoy the story.

As for perceiving Brushel the first time, it took me an hour to get it right (approximately 30 tries)

Spoiler: ending of 3-2 and 3-5
However, I have to say Godot is one tricky dude. I pressed right against Atmey's final testimony the first time, AND presented the right evidence proving Godot was the killer in 3-5 the first time. But thanks to Godot's speeches I thought I got them wrongthe first time. I ended up trying everything else and got them wrong, and tried my first picks again, and waited awhile, and I realized I was right my first time... Maybe it's not Godot, but me at fault for not having enough patience...

I do use selective saving, and I went through the first three games with a walkthrough, but AJ I only checked for like, 3 things.

I only use the walkthrough when I'm stuck or just too lazy to think. I'm more about reading up on the story, so using walkthroughs don't necessarily feel like cheating to me. XD;

I only used a walkthrough for 1-5 and 4-2 investigation. It's not really cheating if you use it for investigation IMO.

And my brother gave me hints on Brushel's twitch. I did NOT want to perceive him... so ugly... so minty... ugh...

I can honestly say I've never used selective saving as I actually had no idea about it until recently lol and I've only used a walkthrough three times (1-5, 3-5 and Brushel's percieve).

I am not spending my time replaying large segments of games because I can not click on the correct vague pixel neither am I going to win awards for being able to so thus verily I 'cheat' in many things.

Sometimes the desire to see the story is greater than the desire to play the game for the cake. :godot:

Oh, you bet your boots I did that save and restart thing like, ten times every case. I'm not very smart, okay?

Anyway, I didn't use a walkthrough until the very end of 2-4. The sad thing is that my hunch for which stuff to present was right, but I just had to be sure because I felt so sorry for Phoenix. ):

I used a walkthrough all throughout the third game, because at that point, I just wanted to know the storyline so that I could read more spoilery fan fics.

Didn't use a walkthrough for Apollo's game, because I felt that the game was condescendingly easy. The hardest part of the game was perceiving Brushel, but I did eventually figure it out on my own.

It's funny because I never really ever cheated on any of the games unless I really couldn't find what was going on (maybe 3 times).

What I am really ashamed of, though, is using a walkthrough on the last few cross-examinations of Bridge to the Turnabout. Why? I guess I was afraid of presenting something "wrong" and then feeling monumentally stupid by failing the last piece of evidence in the series or something, lol.

When I think about it now, Bridge to the Turnabout wasn't any more important than Turnabout Memories, Turnabout Beginnings, or "Reunion, and Turnabout". Indeed, it's rather a "wrapping" up of the 3 cases.

To make up for it, however, I found out that

Spoiler:
Maya was the one who channeled Dahlia as soon as Pearl said that she wasn't able to channel her. In other words, way before Phoenix realized it in court.

So I guess in some way that makes up for it? Just knowing me, failing a last piece of evidence on the last main PW game wouldn't have been good for my self-confidence... lol

As for the saving thing, I always saved before every objection, regardless of how "right" I knew it was. Not sure why, but that's just how I ended up doing things.

Nothing beats that first Objection in Ace Attorney when "Objection! 2001" starts playing.

I do cheat in the games, even since I've been starting the second game from PW. However, I did not cheat in the first game, not even once. Yeah, it was so easy, so I really didn't use a walkthrough at all.

But later, with the last 3 games, I was being a perfectionist and so I used a walkthrough, because uh, I thought I was doing anything wrong, but heh.

The beginning was quite fun, just with all the ups and downs

Yes.
There is no reason why I wouldn't. In a game where the gameplay relies exclusively on the story, going back is pointless. If you fail, you restart at your last saved point, and that means you're going through things you already know. So I simply updated the information about where on the story I was at, thus not having to skim through everything again.
I do not think trying out all the evidence is a good manner of playing, though.

I believe it is not cheating. You are still playing within the game's rules, even if that makes it unsteadily easy. Cheating would be if I sought a walkthrough or inserted an Action Replay into my DS and activated a code which let me have infinite "health".

Yep, I did it and still do it.
When I played the the first game for the first time, I didn´t even know about this, until case 4, I think.
I saved only, when I turned my DS off, but then I found out, when I saved at the beginning of a case and tried, wether it works.
Since then, I did it, when I was unsure.

But now I try, to play it without this "mechanic", making it more exciting, when the next wrong statment you make and then lose the case.
Kinda a good memory-training.

Yep. The last cases are always the friggin hardest, when it comes to finding the right evidence.

I've been pretty successful when it comes to presenting evidence, but I've checked a walkthrough a couple of times during the series.

I remember during the Steel Samurai case, I was stuck trying to find the Premium Ultra Rare card. It didn't occur to me to present the Ultra Rare card to the assistant.

Yeah, I have to use a walkthrough for all the PW games the first go, cause I don't wanna screw up big time.

And right now, I'm playing through all the cases without a guide the 2nd go. Currently, I'm on case 2 of PW: AA. I plan on playing more once I'm not so busy with other stuff.

Define guilty over here. I couldn't play the last games without my computer turned on right in front of me. If not that, there'd be a printed walkthrough right beside me wherever I play with my DS.

One thing I can really say, though, is that I NEVER save before trying to break Psyche-locks. Courtroom battles? Not much, I save every now and then. But breaking those locks always seem too easy for me.

I did it a few times. Franziska's argument on day 2 of 2-3 where she says "The clown saw the murderer! Who was it?" had me stumped. Then Luke Atmey's final testimony in 3-2. And I think I also had to look up some part of Godot's argument in 3-5. Can't remember which part.

I think once or twice for 1-4 and 3-5 because I couldn't figure out which part to present evidence at. There isn't much else though except maybe when I've been stuck several times on where to go.

Sometimes I had to use a walkthrough in the original Phoenix Wright games to figure out hard contradictions or simply what to do next in the investigations...
But I managed to complete Apollo Justice without any cheating, as I was abroad for 2 weeks with no internet access, so I had no choice but to work it all out for myself. :garyuu:

I used a walkthrough during Turnabout Serenade (my first AA game was AJ) the first time I tried because I really didn't give a shit, all I cared for was beating the game. Then I realized what I was doing and never opened an AA walkthrough again...........

I never really counted the quicksave as cheating. Its meant to be there, and it cuts a lot of the fat of going through the same long long parts you already beat. As for walkthroughs, I tend to avoid those and only resort to them when I absolutely dont know what to do, mainly when it comes to double pressing a testimony
Spoiler:
case 3-4 is the best example, just many criptic moments when you dont know where and when to present the evidence.
overall though, i dont use them often and I oppose to using them because it takes away from the true satisfaction of playing the games and discovering the mysterys
Spoiler:
Best example by far is probably when they ask you why the killer didnt wipe the blood stain and I realised it was because Godot cant see red!
That feeling when everything clicks makes it much more satisfying to nail the murderer then just someone telling you and you following orders. I will admit to using it with Brushel's perciving, Cause I dont often look in people's arm pits, espically not brushel :meekins:. But can someone tell me what was so hard about 3-5 that people needed a walkthrough? Thats one final case that I can defintly say that i didnt check a walkthrough even once, it wasnt very hard for me atleast :damon:
Also, i didnt check even once for AAI, that game was very generous with its penaltys

I had to use so much help in 2-4... I got so confused :/

1-5 had some tricky parts and I derped so bad at one point in 4-1 :/

Oddly enough I never looked at a cheat sheet in investigations until ablaze... and it was the LAST contradiction, I felt so mad at myself! D:

Spoiler:
Are you talking about the wound in Alba's chest? No offence, but that was incredibly obvoius IMO.

I do agree that 2-4 had really annoying parts which I needed a walkthrough in, mostly in the stupid double pressing. And I stand by that AAI was the easiest one because it gave you a lot more room for errors. Didnt lose once or quicksaved that one. That can be considerd good or bad, depending on how you look at it.

I generally cheated with some cross examinations, because I just didn't know what to press or what evidence to present. And it generally turned out to be the one that made the least sense to me.

When I finally decided to do a trial without any use of a guide (it was Case 3-4 I did that) and I just had to save-and-load a lot of times, because I either got it wrong or thought the contradiction was in another part. Really, I'd prefer my personal use of logic in this game at times.

When I was younger on the DS Lite I would save before a cross examination and reset if I lost any stamina at all. (Which sounds crazy now haha) although this would be a lot more of a hassle on the 3ds. I guess I'm lucky I play in a riskier way now.

I use a walkthrough usually 4 or 5 times in a game. Due to the nature of the game, when a puzzle stops being fun, that's when I use it. And often I'm one step ahead on the case but the game won't let me object about it (like case 1-5, where the knife wound was a different length than the "murder weapon" they found the first day. I kept objecting about it, but nobody in the game noticed until the next day! So if I ever get in a situation where I'm stuck and its not fun anymore, I use a spoiler-free walkthrough for that part only.
I used to have Sam Waterston as my avatar but photobucket added a watermark and also Law & Order has been cancelled for 10 years so it's time for me to move on.

Do I count? I think when I first read about AJ, before I started playing it, I read something about "sweat stains". I totally paid no attention to it, so when I came to Brushel, I had to listen to that piece of testimony so often, I looked everywhere - the way his hand moved the toothbrush, his pocket if something moved, his eyes, nose... then I suddenly remembered sweatstains and looked and bam!

Considering how often he must've sweat before I figured it out, he should be standing in a pool of his sweat around his too-short cordurory pants.
