There was a long hiatus, so work on it has just resumed. Plot is finished, scripting is well underway as are coding and musical composition. Really the only thing holding us back are unfinished sprites, but we're working on it.

Sorta like the feeling Capcom gave the world by not putting AAI2 up for international release. (thank goodnees we have the team working on the patch)

I've been working on an independent film project, so I've been busy.
I'd love to get back to work on AJ2. We did write up all the cases, composed music, and even had a scene where the black psychelocks are explained/handled.
It's just a matter of finding people to do graphics, really. Sprites and backgrounds are what we're missing.

WOW! That's... pretty amazing, actually. The only change I'd ask for would be maybe making the magatama and ruffle a bit bigger/more noticeable. Haha, if I had sprites of this quality for all my characters, the game would be done by now.
As far as programmers, we have a couple people willing to hash it out, and the creator of PWLib actually wanted to help us. It's just a lack of art that's holding this game back.
As far as script, I could post a couple script snippets if you'd like. If you don't mind a big spoiler, this game does explain black psychelocks, what they mean, and why Phoenix couldn't break them.
Also you get to break them.
We could probably get a demo up and running, if we had a Hatpollo sprite, and a sprite of the defendant.
Hell, while I'm here, have some of the character art we drew up for case 1.

I'm not too familiar with whatever "drama" went on here, though I do know something happened and that KSA doesn't come around much anymore.

Some editing? I think they need ALOT of editing. The tie and collar need to be straightened, lapel needs to be redone, gloves on side look like socks, the buttons seem like the were tacked on, and (mr.) hat looks like he's pointing at the door and not straight ahead when he's objecting. The talking sprites need some major work as well. The head doesn't bob up and down like the regular sprites, so he looks too stiff. At best, these sprites are very sub-par.
And, I don't want to question why a dummy is being used in place of Apollo (insert obvious joke that Apollo is a dummy here) in the court-room, but, I don't think the court would be dumb enough to believe that a puppet could pass as a defense attorney or human being.

I'd say "wait for the context" before you judge. Stranger things have happened in the series.
Furio Tigre passed for Phoenix Wright with a cardboard attorney's badge. At least Hatpollo has the actual badge.
The judge also accepted all the spirit channeling shenanigans in 2-2 and 3-5, despite spirit channeling being widely considered impossible.
I think it makes sense as it's presented, at least by Ace Attorney standards. As far as the quality of the sprite, well, that's exactly why I'm asking for edits. No need to be a jerk about other people's hard work.
