So... how about that Walking Dead game?

Personally, I've never watched the show or read the comic, but this game is SO. GOOD. It's basically a point-and-click adventure game with dialogue choices and lots of zombies -- I mean, walkers. However, it's less about the walkers and more about the people you meet. You make friends, make enemies, and make extremely tough decisions to survive.

I've watched a Let's Play of it and I'm hopefully buying all the season 1 episodes this Christmas (there are 5 episodes, and you can buy them individually or in a bundle on your home console or on Steam).

So, has anyone played it/ heard of it/ something? It's up for Game of the Year, so I know I'm not the only one moved to tears by the story.

I watched Pewdiepie's Let's Play of it and I thought the game was awesome. The plot had such great twists and brilliant gameplay. The ending made me burst into tears.

I also have never read the comic or watched the show but I think if they're as good as the game then I will!

I watched Pewdie's LP too; I watched the entirety of Episode 5 with my cousins the day after Thanksgiving and we were all holding back tears... and then Pewdiepie lost it and we were just like, "NO PEWDIE STOP IT, NOW I CAN'T HOLD IN MY TEARS."

I'm thinking of watching Cry's LP to see what choices he did differently, but maybe I should play it through once myself. I kind of regret not buying the episodes first since it's such a personal experience, but I had no idea I'd love it this much. Welp, I'll buy it anyway.

I watched Cry (his playthrough was by far my favorite), Pewdiepie, Tobuscus, and Cinnamontoastken play it (yes, I loved it so much, I watched the whole thing four times), and I plan on buying it as soon as I have a PS3 or a computer that can handle it. The game is amazing and definitely in my top five best games ever, up there with Ace Attorney, Professor Layton, To the Moon, and Trauma Team.

Hell, it's so good that I got my math teacher to play it.

Also, out of curiosity, I have to ask...

Spoiler: Ben
Did you hate him throughout the game, up until a certain point, or never at all? From what I've seen, most people hated Ben until his emotional scenes with Kenny (the one outside the house and in the alley). I personally liked him since the beginning. So yeah. How did you feel about him, and other characters while you're at it?

I saw Cry's playthrough first - what I liked about his was that he made good choices that kept him closer to Clementine.

Pewdie's was hilarious because he made so many errors. I enjoyed his the most because I'm a bro but Cry's was better for the gameplay. I got so annoyed when Pewds would mess about in the game when I just wanted to know what would happen next. So Cry's was less stressful for me, lol.

I cried too at the ending. When Pewdie started crying, I started crying even worse. It kinda felt like I was crying with him and the rest of the bros.

I think you should definately get the game. I've seen the whole playthrough and it was really good!

I am playing through this, although my computer is struggling to play it, haha. Crappy PC go!

In any case, I'm done with episode 1, and am playing through the probably-end of episode 2, but I've got all 5 episodes installed.

So far I'm loving it. Episode 1 was a 9.5/10. That missing 0.5 is for the extra polish that would have been necessary for this to be a perfect contender for Game of the Year: voice acting was awesome but had its kinda bad moments, and movement is a bit glitchy when walking against a wall, which detracted from the experience a bit. That might be the case with the entire game, though, Telltale is known for always missing that final layer of polish. That being said, this is definitely Telltale's crowning achievement so far, if the rest of the game is as good as what I've played so far.

In any case, it is an extremely solid game and experience. And that's coming from a guy that prefers linear gameplay over this kind of branched, decision-based systems. Not sure if Game of the Year, but definitely a top 10, if not top 5 contender.

Concerning Ben...
Spoiler: Ben
I never hated him. Hell, I never hated any of the characters (though I did dislike Larry the most since I never sympathized with him too much, despite everything Lilly would say about him. With Ben, I sympathized with him because he does mean well, he just stumbles makes a mess of everything whenever he tries to help. Even when it was revealed that he was the one negotiating with the bandits, his only error was being so secretive about it.
...I admit though, when he left Clemmie behind while she was attacked by walkers, I got pretty pissed at him. Still, I never wanted to kill him off or leave him behind because I feel like it's too barbaric to leave someone behind if they're truly trying to help.

Also, I was really lazy about doing any studying this weekend, so instead I did a simple drawing of Lee and Clem :D
