I've played through all of PW:AA and JFA many times but I've never come across this Edgeworth sprite:
Image
Is it used at all in the first two games or just in GS3/T&T?

It was haxored from PW:AA. But yes, it shows up in the dictionary. There it's even animated correctly.

It was supposed to be used during case 4 in Ace Attorney 1.

How about the Edgeworth sprite where he's "punching"? I'm really curious about that one. Is it beta or GS3? Where would it have been used?

You mean the one where he is kinda "punch-pointing?" Looks like he's dancing.

Case 1-4 spoilers:
Spoiler:
That is in the game. During the final trial of case 4, where Edgeworth is basically pointing at you or at Manfred von Karma. I can't remember the details, but I think he was explaining what his dream was, and was going to say that he killed his own father... when in reality, he didn't.

Yeah, he was pretty much just pointing all over the place. Forgot why he was pointing at Nick but he was pointing at MvK to accuse him of killing his father.

It's when he is in Case 1-4 when he's poiting at Von Karma.

Not that elusive, he does it three times.

The question of that sprite is answered.

It was made into the game, but was just never used. It was supposed to be used in 1-4, but for some reason they just didn't put it in.

That's all. No big conspiracy thoery.

I thought it was one of those 'blink and you miss it' ones, I swear I saw for a brief instant when Phoenix tells Edgeworth that Maya was kidnapped in 2-4. But my siblings took my DS while I was at work and I have no idea where it is, so I can't check.

Really? I never noticed it. However, if the encyclopedia says its a beta sprite then you probably didn't. Sorry.

I always figured they meant to use that sprite for the twist at the end of case 1-4

Spoiler:
when Edgeworth finally realizes that von Karma shot his father

but just never got around to adding it or... something. I was always kind of surprised that Edgeworth didn't react with any more shock than he did upon hearing that news, and this sprite fits with what I was expecting him to do.

(Incidentally, I'm replaying that case right now, so hopefully in a few hours I'll see if my memory's just off or if he really did act as deadpan to that revelation as I remember, because I honestly don't remember what Aetheryn described at all. :sadshoe: )

If memory serves, Edgeworth just had his poker face on the whole case, but if anyone can prove otherwise, I'll be happy. ^_^
