Sometimes I just think you're too cynical to enjoy things at times CM. I definitely wouldn't have looked at TV tropes before I see a film but hey some people like spoilers.

Sometimes, I don't mind spoilers, other times I don't want to know beforehand.
Example, I read a few things about Princess Tutu before watching the anime - the AMV I saw made it look freaking awesome! But with the chinese novel Half Prince, I tried desperately to keep myself from seeing, looking for or accidently finding any spoilers. Now that the ending has been translated and I've read it..... I feel unsatisfied and wished for a bit more drama.

Yes indeed, I was confuzzled when Andy didn't hesistate when it came to giving up Buzz...Seeing how at one point he loved Buzz more than Woody.

He was a kid at that time, it was a momentary "fever" of things - he got throughroughly excited about this new toy and its cool spaceship and stuff! And then he calmed down. Woody was his favorite toy for years, so of course he'd hesitate more on him than on the one he was excited about for a while.
I still have my fever parts, but they last for a few months and then I go onto the next thing, haha.

Ooooh and Fantasia.
That was beautiful. I watched it a ton when I was a kid - I forgot most of the stuff, but the Wizard's Apprentice one is definitely one I won't forget. My mom actually used references to that to teach me fractions when I first learned them. (It worked!) I have the DVD and casette of it, but I haven't watched it in years... I should do that again.

I forgot about this, I love it so much! Genuinely funny with no OTT sad moments.

I dunno, seeing Kuzco in the rain when he get to him (not the flash-forward one, the real one) where he just gets wet and lies down.... just thinking about it makes me a bit teary-eyed! Maybe cause I'm more sensitive to animals than humans....

Speaking of teary-eyed!
Dumbo! Dumbo!
That scene where he gets cradled in his mother's trunk and their trunks interwine before having to let go...! :larry: Goddammit just writing this is making me start crying...!

I recently finished Cinderella 2 and 3 and I must say I adore the Cinderella trilogy. (Yes I like the sequels.)

This is ironic since in the past I would say that Cinderella is my least favorite disney movie. (Yes, in the past I would dislike this movie more than Pocahantas II) But my opinion for disney movies has changed a little. I used to love The Hunchback for Notre Dame but now for some reason I don't like it as much.

I also think that Cinderella is an underrated character. I understand why everyone loves Esmerelda, Mulan, Jasmine, Belle, and Meg. Heck! I love those characters as much as the next person. However, Cinderella may not be as spunky as those characters but she is very kind and compassionate even though she has been abused all her life.

I also don't think Cinderella 2 is as bad as everyone makes it out to be. :snackood: I thought it was very cute, and one of Cinderella's stepsisters becomes a more fleshed out character. Then the 3rd Cinderella movie is a way of saying "Were sorry the second movie sucked so bad, this movie is better." Cinderella 3 was surprisingly dark, and Cinderella gets more character development. Once again Cinderella's step sister becomes more fleshed out and even the bloody prince charming became a more fleshed out character in this sequel. He was actually really attractive.

I take my Treasure Planet DVD with me to my dorm because sometimes I just need a good, uplifting movie. I mean, I guess the steampunk stuff going on kinda turned people off since this movie isn't that popular, or they didn't like the idea that it was Treasure Island... IN SPACE, but the father/son relationship between Jim and Silver is just d'aww-inducing. And I really like the songs. And the character designs. I just really like it.

A couple others I'd list are:
Lilo and Stitch (now that I'm older I really empathize with Nani's situation. Having to put your own life on hold to essentially become a single parent to your little sister? I can't imagine dealing with that, and kudos to Disney for tackling such a tough issue.)
Atlantis (Milo is adorkable, and anything involving his team is comedy gold)
The Princess and the Frog (I probably relate to Tiana in personality more than any other Disney princess)

I have almost every Disney animation studio and Pixar movie ever made, so I think a side effect of that is that now I honestly still prefer to watch animated films to live-action ones. And I turn 20 in a few months and I'm not an animation student. OH WELL. (granted, all those Marvel movies are opening me up to live-action a little more).

And concerning Toy Story 3, I bawled like a baby at the end because I was about to graduate at the time. All I heard was praise for the movie (and I loved it) but now that it's been a while I've been seeing a bunch of people pipe up and say "actually it was way too cheesy." I get where they're coming from, but to me it made sense, especially since people forget he's talking to a kid much younger than him. For a few hours, he can be a kid again himself. Those descriptions of his toys? They were perfect! Imagine how much he psyched her up by telling her so much cool stuff about the toys, rather than just dumping them off (whether they're important to him or not).
And Woody's significance isn't just how long he's had him, but supposedly his father gave that cowboy toy to him, so it made perfect sense to me that he was so hesitant to give Woody away, of all things. Hell, if I was him, I would've kept the toys anyway. My mom doesn't make me dump any of my stuff, so I have a lot of old stuff still with me, and I'm glad I do. I don't use the toys pretty much ever, but they have good memories and maybe someday I'll find someone who I think deserves the toys I took such great care of.
But you've seen that I'm not very normal, so. Maybe that's just me. :udgy:

I agree about the final scenes - having Andy play with his toys with Bonnie one final time, like he was a kid again was beautiful :(
I thought he'd keep Woody too at first, or Bonnie would see he was very important to Andy and give him back. But ultimately I think Pixar had to show Andy "moving on" (I'd have kept Woody myself at least though) and they did it in a beautifully sensitive and mature fashion.

Screw the sister getting fleshsed out, the Prince finally got some lines! Did he ever utter a single word in Cinderella? Not that I know of, but then the thing is called Cinderella and the term Disney Princess focuses on the girl and all...
I admit, I was a bit older when I watched Cinderella II and I thought it was kind of cute. The stories were sweet, although making Anastasia become more of a good character felt a bit like a bad excuse to me. But I'm the one who thinks that any High School Bitch Cheerleader is nothing more than a High School Bitch Cheerleader and not a girl who only acts that way cause she's actually a fwightened little girl and is quite nice on the inside.
God I hate that cliché...

I actually never watched Cinderella III.
I think I stumbled upon the last part of it on TV for a few minutes - anyway, something about Cinderella rescuing herself out of a black pumpkin carriage, I think. Although I recently saw a video that said that Cinderella III is actually a pretty decent movie. Not in any way really good or so, but a nice sequelish thing.
I agree, though. Turning back time and redoing the happy ending?
Well, the idea that the Prince and Cinderella need to fall in love with each other all over again, that's nice and all. But Cinderella clearly displayed that they did not fall in love with each other on terms of personality. Nope, the prince saw her, thought she was hot, danced with her and they were head over heels.
So.... I guess in a way it's nice that they now seem to have a happy ending that is now with a love deeper than just looks, but it sort of proves that their love and marriage might not have ended well in the long run...

The scene with Cinderella being trapped in the dark pumpkin carridge made me want to watch the movie in the first place. And time traveling to make a better ending where the wicked stepmother could never destroy the love between the prince and Cinderella made me think of Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Kannazuki no Miko. I liked this plot, but part of me wishes that Cinderella 2 stayed canon.
But I agree with how Prince Charming and Cindy fell in love, for a better version of this love story there is a really nice Cinderella anime that doesn't force the romance, I recommend it, old school anime needs love as well.

I actually LOVE this concept of an alternate alien universe where there are probably a small population of humans.

Rewatching Meet the Robinson's for the 4th time makes me think that this movie is a bit underrated.

It really is a touching movie about family and friendship and stresses the idea constantly trying even if you fail and learn from your mistakes, which is a breath of fresh air for me since I watch/read to much romance, and I am very very picky about romance stories.

"let go of the past, and keep moving forward" my favorite quote from this movie. it's one of my favorites along with ratatouille's "...you must not let anyone define your limits because of where you come from. Your only limit is your soul."

God I loved Disney as a kid, almost every Disney movie was my favorite. Even some of the sequels.
The animated ones I think still hold up best for me are Mulan, Aladdin, and maybe the Emperor's New Groove. I feel like Beauty and the Beast would probably be up there too, but I don't know if I ever saw it as a kid. I watched it for what seemed like the first time a few months ago, and thought it was pretty good. I also saw the Princess and the Frog. I liked it, but I think it would probably be in my favorites if I saw it as a kid.

My favorite Pixar movies are Wall-E and Finding Nemo. I was in love with Wall-E when I first saw it, I haven't seen it in a while but I still think very fondly of all of it. Finding Nemo I remember loving as a kid, but I didn't expect to like it as much as I do at the age I am now. Again, I'm pretty sure I liked every other Pixar as well, I just don't remember Toy Story or A Bug's Life or stuff like that so well. I really enjoyed Up, but it didn't leave as much of an impression on me.

I'm not sure if this one counts, but I also really loved, and still do, the Nightmare Before Christmas. The songs are fantastic, the characters are awesome, the concept is creative, the animation is especially impressive, it's just amazing.

Well it did...just in the form of a game. The game they made to go with the movie detailed the battle against the UNDERMINER! The villain that appeared at the end of the film.

Though I dunno, the new Disney Infinity range of toys includes an Incredibles playset so perhaps Disney may have something in mind for them yet.

Holy! :O
Well i heard a long time ago that the creator said that there will be no sequel to The Incredibles until he thinks of a plot that is just as good if not better than the original. *waiting*

That's fair enough, wouldn't want them to make a sequel with a pretty awful plot.

If there is one, I bet it's one about puberty, perhaps Dash or Viola break off to become Supervillains by abusing their powers.

Well, Violet is sort of going through puberty in the movie already.
And somehow, until the later part of the movie, where the entire family fights - the movie is more focused on Mr Incredible, his mid-life crisis and dislike of his boring civillian life, longing for the action of the "old days". Although the interaction between the kids and parents was very genuine.

Hmmmmm, makes me think the sequel should be like Young Justice...With toned down romance.
