I'm pretty surprised that a top 10 film thread isn't here.

Anyway, here's my list. What's yours?

10) Shrek: My favorite animated movie

9) Forrest Gump: Timeless old film

8) Rocky: Inspiring sports classic

7) Argo: Winner of 2012 Best Picture, and for a good reason

6) Jurassic Park: Classic thrills and moments

5) Star Wars Episode 5: Empire Strikes Back: Not as revolutionary as the original, but Yoda was first introduced. Nuff' said

4) The Dark Knight: My favorite superhero movie

3) Raiders of the Lost Ark: Never gets old, no matter how many times you watch it

2) Star Wars Episode 4: A New Hope: A revolutionary classic that started it all

1) E.T. the Extraterrestrial: Touching and beautiful. I remember my grandma crying after I showed her this movie back in the day

Ok, I'll give it a go.

10) Lady and the Tramp II- ...What? I loved this movie as a kid.

9) Shrek- Very sweet animated movie.

8) Rise of the Guardians- The animation was beautiful, it may have not been the best movie plot-wise but I did enjoy it.

7) Wreck-It-Ralph- A very sweet and touching movie that surprisingly kept me on the edge of my sweet. A great story of friendship and being proud of who you are.

6) Spirited Away- My childhood. <3 And the reason I became a concious anime fan.

5) Megamind- This movie was very sweet and had great animation and wasn't shallow at all...In fact, it was very realistic.

4) Peter Pan (Animated Disney movie)- Great animation, lots of great action, I watched this all the time as a kid.

3) Princess Mononoke- My favorite Studio Ghibli film. The animation and plot was great, the bloody soundtrack. When I had the DVD I would watch the movie over and over.

2) The Swan Princess- I don't know why I love this movie so much...I understand that is flawed, but I just love it to pieces. Derrick and Odette have a (somewhat) realistic relationship and I just adore Odette for being realistic and smart and down to earth.

1) Hercules (animated disney movie)- This movie basically has everything I wanted in a movie, I would watch the videotape so much as a kid it drove my brother crazy. But the songs are awesome, the romance is great, Meg is believable and a great character, my favorite Disney female. And Hades is my favorite Disney villian, he's both threatening and provides some great comic relief. And younger Hercules is so cute >.<--*ahem*

I see you love animated movies

I haven't seen any good ones in a while (last one being the phenomenal Fantastic Mr. Fox)

Got any recommendations?

Yes, I am an animation nerd. ^^;

I recommend Wreck-It-Ralph, Rise of the Guardians, and Megamind....Well Rise of the Guardians doesn't have the best storyline but the animation is great. Wreck-It-Ralph and Megamind have great stories that aren't shallow.

And of course I recommend Studio Ghibli films, especially Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away.

I saw Wreck It Ralph, and I thought it was alright.

Haven't seen any Ghibli movies though, but I wish they still aired on Toonami.

Fantastic Mr. Fox is a stop motion animated film based off the Roald Dahl classic book.

The plot revolves around the clever Mr. Fox and his family who are being targeted by three greedy farmers. It's a great movie with big names (George Clooney and Meryl Streep) and was critically acclaimed with a Best Animated Feature nomination in 2009.

I'll give it a shot. But first a disclaimer. I love all these movies a lot, so just because one is number 10 doesn't mean it's bad. Now then... *cracks knuckles* Lessee...
10: Shutter Island. It was a pretty good movie, but towards the end it got so confusing.

9: The Dark Knight. Decent movie, good actors, good story.

8: The Polar Express. ...What?! It's a good movie!

7: Alice in Wonderland(the original Disney one). This movie is pretty swell. I like it, even though it's not very consistent with the book.

6: Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva. Excellent animation, good plot, good puzzles. I love it!

5: The Prestige. Really good movie, excellent plot, excellent ending, good actors, overall, great.

4: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory(the original). I watched this so much as a child, and still watch it a lot today.

3: Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Really funny movie, I can't recommend it enough.

2: Spaceballs. Parody of Star Wars, Star Trek, and a ton of other movies. I will forever love this one.

1: Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl. This movie is great. Pirates arrr interesting to me, and this movie is very good. I positively love it.

Really fricking funny. Parts of it don't make sense. Well, a lot of it. Hell, almost the entire movie makes no sense. But that's the fun of it. If you have to choose parts of it to look up, then look up The Knights Who Say Ni, The Black Knight, and The Witch Trial scene.

It's kind of weird how girls usually perfer Peter Pan and guys usually perfer Alice in Wonderland. Even my brother is a fan of Alice in Wonderland while it's hard for me to enjoy an animated movie full of nonesense.

I never watched Disney much other than Lion King, but I think I'd take Alice in Wonderland over Peter Pan like your bro

I love Peter Pan for the action...It was originally going to be live action but they couldn't make special effects way back when. So they used animation. (One of the reasons I love animation.)

Isn't that one movie Hook a live action Peter Pan though?

Eeeeeeeh, this is a toughie...
Imbd here I come again, please lend me your power.

*later*

Sooooo...I guess I managed to cook up my current top 10 movie list.
These aren't in order of my IMBD list since these are listed on my taste scale and not how good the movie itself is.
Heck; let's say I'd like Lake Placid 2 okay? The movie is utter crap and I gave it like...2, if I recall right, but what if it'd be on this list out of guilty pleasure?
...Actually; let me try another example. The Godfather. One of the must see movies of all time and certainly a classic that has earned it's place in our hearts, but it's not gonna be on this list. Not because I don't like those movies, I really do, but that fact is the movies on my list share my personal taste more than The Godfather does.
...Ummmm...I dunno if anyone got that but...yeah...This is how it's gonna go with my list...
So...Take your hat off and hold your seats everyone, here we go; Zinnies top 10.

Number 10 - Dinner for One
- This is low on the list because I'm not sure does this short movie count as an actual movie but...I frigging love this.
They show it here every new years eve and I always see it. I have it on tape and I've recorded on digibox's memory and I just LOVE this one.
Freddie Frinton acting drunk is fun to watch and to think that is what the whole movie is about....Simply genious little movie that I've seen million times before and I'm sure to see million times again.

Number 09 - Atlantis the Lost Empire
- ...Say what you will, call it a guilty pleasure or something, I like this movie.
I like how they tried to try something new by not making a musical but an action movie this time.
I like the characters, I like the adventure, I like the mythos...I just really like this movie and think it's underrated movie.
...Yes the villains kinda suck at how generic they are and their goal and motivation is simply boring as heck but...
...nah forget it; I. LIKE. THIS. MOVIE. Deal with it!! 凸ಠ益ಠ)凸

Number 08 - Shrek 2
- Out of all Shrek movies this one is my favorite.
The first one is bit slow, third one is just...odd and the fourth one is a medicore.
Take a note; I'm not saying those are bad movies. All I'm saying is that Shrek 2 is the best out of them IMO.
The story goes on smoothly, the villain is great, the story works as a sequel, the jokes are funny and the ending climax...I've never managed to turn my eyes off from the TV during the whole 'I wanna Hero' part.
Shrek two just nails it all.

Number 07 - The Prince of Egypt
- I can't say I'm a religious guy. Heck I have a habit of saying to my family that the next time I'm visiting a church is when it's my own funeral.
I just wanted to make that clear so some people wouldn't think my christianity (or how ever it's written) affects this at anyway.
I know there are people who have seen the movie and know exactly what I'm talking about here. You don't need to believe in Christian God to see how good this movie is.
It's not the story I like here it's the WAY they tell it. Not only that but for animated movie this film looks amazing and the soundtrack isn't any less.
I'm not saying this is a perfect movie or it has no flaws, but what it does right; it god damn does right.

Number 06 - Tuntematon Sotilas
- Here is a movie I'm sure not that many of you guys have heard. And for good reason.
This movie tells about fictional Finnish machinegun team during the war against Russian army.
It's based on book written by Väinö Linna, a Finnish author and writer. It's pretty old movie and its completely this black and white era one, which I enjoy btw but I'd be lying if I didn't confess that this movie has a nostalgic value for me too.
This movie is like our 'independence day' movie and I've seen this ever since I was a child. (it's shown on TV every year on Finlands independence day BTW)
I used to watch this a lot with my grandpa (and many other old movies too) and I can pretty much remember...well..."far too any lines" from the movie.
I know many of you probably haven't seen this, like I said, but if you ever have a change to see the 'Unknow Soldier' do check it. If for nothing else...well...then to humor me.

Number 05 - Beauty and the Beast
- My god....One of those films I thought was good whe I was a child, but now as an adult I like it more and more by more an moer I see it.
The story is interesting love story, the growth of characters is fasinating, the songs are great, the art is amazing...
I could go on and on about why this movie is great but let's face it; You've seen it and you know why.

Number 04 - Memoirs of a Geisha
- I don't like this movie just because it's one of the wery few films that John Williams begged he could do the music for,
but...Well I don't know honestly why I like this movie so much...
It's a sad tale about a love story of a Geisha, who aren't supposed to love.
The story has many levels, it has this eastern philosophies, it tells about the culture back then, the main character is great, the movie is beautiful to look at...
...Actually...that last one kinda sums why I like this movie. It's just so...beautiful as a movie.
Not only did it inspire me to read the book too (which I never found in Finnish though but luckily my english is ok enough to read it)
but it also grew my interest for movies that have this kinda...eatern...cultural...things....Confusing I know... -_-'
So...lemme just move on...

Number 03 - The Dark Knight
- ...You know I'm gonna say it so here goes; It's the friggin' BATMAN!!
And honeslty, what can I possibly say about this movie that hasn't been said already?
Simply put; one of the best super hero movies in the long time and bound to be one of the classics in the future generations minds someday.
That's all I'm gonna say.

Number 02 - The Hunchback of Notre Dame
- I like this movie because how much different it's from the other Disney movies.
Granted; many Disney movies had dark themes to work with but this one still shows out from the group.
The racism, the insanity, the religions...all that combined with good vs bad and hearwarming characters and one of my all time favorite villains.
Not only that but the soundtrack is phenomenal and the movies art looks so grand...Truly outstanding.
Much like with the Dark Knight -- what can I say that haven't been said already?
I'm certainly gonna see this million times again like I've done before.

...And lastly but CERTAINLY NOT least...

My favorite and number one movie is; Sweeney Todd
- Kinda surprising maybe, but I have my reasons.
Not only because I've stated that if I'd ever turn gay it'd be for Johnny Depp but to hear him singing in this movie too...? And that he's good at it...Is there anything this god can't do?! *take me Johnny!*
...Umm....Anyway....I like this movie because I find it so sad....I know it's about this lunatic killing people but...I only see sadness in this movie.
A guy that has lost it all for now reason than greed of another man finally snaps and begins to ill everyone to get his revenge.
He dies in the process and creates this alter ego, Sweeney Todd, who he becomes. And in the end he manages to get his revenge but pays a grand prize for it.
Now entering the spoilers section; Not only does he die by his own razor but he accidentally kills the woman he loved and tells her daughter to forget his face. Sweeney may have got his revenge but he still loses everything. Againg.
...And no matter his deeds, if this doesn't make it a sad story I don't know what will. After all, in the end there's not a single person happy....
And personally I think that is the reason I like this movie. It's well done drama which I like and thus it earns the title as my favorite movie of all time.
