He's blatantly offensive to other people and smug at times but he's accepted in the group and regarded as a font of wisdom at times it seems. Just thinking about this guy can get me down for ages to the point that it puts me off my focus at work. *shrugs* My friend has moved out of his flat so we've stopped having weekly meetings there where I'd see the guy in question so hopefully just a little separation will let these feelings die down.

Well for me separation does not work for me...I stay alone and in my head I just zapped said person four times...I figured I should stay true to my feelings but not do anything I'll regret later.

Oh yeah I always think thats a good thing to do when you're angry - whether in general or with someone specific. Play a fighting game. Main reason why I ever played Street Fighter or Dead or Alive, simply so I have something/someone to beat up when I'm angry.

Yeah, it's always hard when you've got some good friends in the middle. Though, as long as Mr. Abrasive isn't personally causing harm to them, you're probably right to let it go.
(And he sounds about half as wise as he's apparently regarded...)

Eh, you're not the only one not hyped about GS5...
I already felt T&T was superfluous to the story in general, so if GS5 is better than that, I doubt it'll mean much to me. Maybe GS5 will be fun and really be the best out of the games that have been released up to now, but there's also the chance that it'll be the same quality as GS2 or GS1, even.
As for your leaving, it's entirely up to you.

Yeah, rampant negativity is never fun if you have to take any of it seriously. But I don't think it's the hatred, it's the tendency to rant for hours on end about being butthurt about something a company decided (or at least from what I gathered... I'll admit maybe I don't pay as much attention as I used to). Sure, it sucks, and I've had my own peeves about other companies in the past.
Some days I'd like to participate in the discussion.
Other days I just don't have time for that shit. It's like, *scroll, scroll, scroll, really, are you still talking about that?* *dumps topic from reading list and goes back to drooling over Glassesworth*

I don't respond on this thread anymore, but I'll just say this. If you really feel that you have no reason to be here, than no one's stopping you from leaving. However, I don't think that would be the right decision. Many people, myself included, are negative people. We're not blinded by hatred like you're saying, but we're frustrated with some decisions that Capcom has made with the series. A lot of us probably don't have the great of lives either, so we're just pessimistic by nature. We all go through a lot, and it's really difficult for us to stay positive or happy. What I'm saying is, our negativity isn't without reason. You have to understand that.
If you're losing interest in Ace Attorney, you're probably just going through a drought or depression when it comes to your own life. It'll pass. If it makes you feel any better, perhaps you should leave Court Records for a few months and come back when you feel like it. This site was founded due to the pure passion that us few fans truly have for this series. I'm glad to be a part of it, and it really has changed my life for the better. You met Gnobo here, right? If you hadn't joined, that wouldn't have happened. I can say the same for myself. I met someone very important on this forum site, and she truly has made my life worth living. It wasn't like that a year ago.
Regardless of your decision, none of us will be disappointed or angry at you. It's your choice and I'm sure we all can respect that. If this truly is your last post, than goodbye. I hope that you'll find happiness elsewhere and enjoy your life.

EDIT: I mean, look at it this way: There hasn't been a new localised AA game since February 2010, and there hasn't been a strict continuation of the 'main' series since way back in 2008! And let's face it: The community's been stagnating a bit, quite possibly due to the lack of updates in the West.
But we're finally getting AA5 now! People are starting to care about Ace Attorney again! Soon all the little fanclubs, adjective or ADJECTIVE and shipping threads will be brought back from the abyss, and before you know it, Court-Records will truly become alive again.

There's nothing you really can do. It's up to the users themselves to decide if they'll stay or not. If people act negative on CR, that's their own personality and you can't change that. Just ignore the people you don't like, and if they REALLY bug you report it to one of the administrators. But still, people have different sensitivities and get angry at different things. I don't even think that banning people just because they offend a few users is really the right thing to do.
Keep in mind that this is just one user. I have a feeling that she's also having problems in her own life, rather than it just being the site.

And Emiko, if you're reading this, I won't hold your decision against you, though I certainly hope you'll return someday. Unless you do something that warrants a permanent ban, the door's always open. That holds true as much for users that want to leave as it does for users that want to return.

I think I vaguely remember someone like that.
Possibly beginning with L...but my memory is fuzzy. Ancient CR history I guess.
Anyway on topic:
I started a new job today, was told to come in on the 22nd for induction and so I did and it went well, apart from one caveat.
Apparently I'm booked in full-time for the rest of the week without any kind of warning or indication. I have another job that might have been brutally shaken by this. Fortunately my other boss is understanding and supportive but it's still a pain. Also I'm flitting to a whole other service tomorrow to the point where travel time included I am effectively working 13 hours before getting home.
Ahh...but I suppose work is work.

I agree with everyone here and it's good to see that you're back. I don't really consider myself to be that "well known and close" with the CR community like you guys. On most threads I usually see the regulars like Blak, Pierre, VCM, CatMuto, etc, and I also consider you Emiko to be part of that as well. I would hate to see this forum site losing one of its main players.
People like you are what keeps this site alive and running. Us asking we're you've been these past few days only proves that we all care. There are many users like me here who, if they left, no one would even notice.

That's why I think you shouldn't leave. Because I view you as important to the site. If something bothers you about the forums, you should really just ignore it and not let it get to you.
