Ok, so Nintendo just announced a new Nintendo Direct for tomorrow. It'll be broadcast at :

- 3pm UK Time
- 4PM CET (GMT+2)
- 7am West Coast Time
- 10am East Coast Time
- 11pm Japan Time

I created this topic because it's highly likely Capcom will announce the release date for Phoenix Wright : Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies during this Nintendo Direct. Back when it was announced AA5 would be digital-only, Svensson said Capcom would work closely with Nintendo to heavily promote the game, by putting it on the Nintendo eShop weeks before release, etc... And a Nintendo Direct announcement for the release date makes too much sense for it not to happen.

Agreed, it's not guaranteed AA5 will be shown during this Nintendo Direct, but since the presentation will focus on Wii U and 3DS games for 2013, I'd be really surprised it we didn't get the release date then. Also, remember that Capcom said they'd have some "good news very soon".

Hopefully we hear good news about GS5. Who knows? Maybe we'll even see a surprise release of PLvAA?

I totally expect the exact release date for AA5, it just perfectly fits the "good news very soon" stuff.

Do they announce third party games in Nintendo Directs? I thought they only do first party or Nintendo-published games. Could be wrong, though.

First/second party titles usually get the focus, but third party games usually get a few minutes or a quick mention too.

Third party titles actually get their fair share of the spotlight - it's just that Nintendo tends to have poor third-party support, particularly on consoles (the Wii U being an absolute disaster in terms of how poorly supported it is).

I have very little doubt that we'll be getting a price and release date for Dual Destinies during this Nintendo Direct.

This bodes well. Even if they don't mention Dual Destinies then at least we get to hear more about the next Super Smash Games, one would assume.

This is entirely unfounded speculation on my part, but perhaps tomorrow could be a 'Nintendo Direct: Courtroom Edition'.... or something like that :godot: Dual Destinies is releasing this year, and as the final Professor Layton is being released next year , it would make sense that 'PLvAA' would most likely be released before then as to build up hype for its 'epic conclusion, perhaps this year; considering both those facts, it would make sense to have a Nintendo Direct centered around the two arguably best releases currently announced for the 3DS :minuki: Therefore, if indeed we have an Ace Attorney centered Nintendo Direct... Zvarri! We will get release dates on both titles, AND a limited physical run for Dual Destinies :redd:

Is any of this likely going to happen? Probably not, particularly regarding a physical Dual Destinies :sadshoe: Will Nintendo pay so much attention to such a niche franchise? Crazier things have happened, but we can't be sure :yuusaku: Are the two games we the fans have been craving SO LONG finally going to come stateside this year? Perhaps, but not certainly :payne: That said, a man can dream, so I will dream bold and dream optimistically until proven otherwise :odoroki: I may be disappointed or I may be pleased; either way, I'll be waiting for the showing of tomorrow's Nintendo Direct in bated breath :jake:
"No one can change the past. The only thing we can do is strive to make up for our mistakes. Why must we make up for our mistakes, you ask? Because in so doing... we can find the way back to our path. And once we've found our path, we can move on from our past mistakes toward a brighter future."- Phoenix Wright

Nintendo did say that they are going to support third parties more, so I'm guessing having them in Nintendo Direct is part of it. I'm sure they aren't letting third parties advertise for free though, so I don't think any third parties have had a huge spotlight yet, and most are part of a clipshow of several third party titles. But there have been a few third party titles that get a short segment to themselves, IIRC (can't think of a specific example at the moment. Professor Layton may be an example if they appeared in a segment of a JP Nintendo Direct, but in the US it's second party because Nintendo publishes).

Yeah, I'm not gonna be a party pooper and kill everyone's joy, because I'm personally also quite sure that we'll get news on DD during this ND.

Hope it's good news like Chris promised :)

Speculation time : Layton 6 is releasing this Fall in Europe. Ace Attorney 5 is also slated for Fall in Europe... What if... What if they went and include a demo for Professor Layton vs Ace Atttorney in BOTH games? Hmm?

I wish Capcom and Level-5 lived in my own fantasy world, it'd be so wonderful.

I have never bought a 3DS game which includes a demo for another game, so to be honest I can't really that as being likely. Perhaps I am wrong though their may be 3ds games out there with included demos.

Okay, so no Dual Destinies news today after all. But, Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright finally confirmed for a US release! Rejoice!

Heh, I knew PL vs. AA would be announced soon. Too bad it won't come out until next year, but I'm sure Azran Legacy was a bit more important.

Also, I hope the logo they used in the UK stream (couldn't find the US stream on mobile for some reason) is not final, because it looked thrown together. The UK reveal was pretty clever though. That's all we have today- *OBJECTION* and he returns pointing and with spiky hair.

Too bad there was no AA5 news though, considering that comes out sooner. I'm sure there will be at least one more Nintendo Direct before its release though.

BTW, was that Animal Crossing invite a friend thing in the US stream as well?

...well, I guess I won't be getting Azran Legacy for Christmas unless I ask for a pre-order or something. I wonder why there is such a large gap between US and EU releases this time, because this is unusual. I still need to finish Miracle Mask though.

Oh, and that Animal Crossing friend thing is UK only (if not EU in general). Guess they want to boost 3DS XL sales over there.

Basically, someone who registers the game on Club Nintendo gets a code that can be redeemed by a friend for a free copy of Animal Crossing, if the friend receiving the code also registers their 3DS XL.
