I may get in trouble for this...but I know Youtube is stingy about movies being up and I thought I should let folks know.

A bunch of us here at CR have already snagged opportunities to see the Ace Attorney movie already. Course not everyone is so lucky and some people may have wanted to watch it again but no DVD is available to them.

I was recently looking to see if I could find a clip of the film on youtube and I found the whole thing with English subtitles.

So far I've seen 42 mins of this and I like how it doesn't take the movie that seriously.
it's corny, it's goofy...It's the god damn Ace Attorney...! <3

Can't say much about chracter performances yet though.
Nick is bit more whimpy and unexperiensed than he should be
but that makes this whole lot of more fun imo.
His actor truly shines in this one.

Yeah, I had a helluva time trying to find this back when the subs were first coming out. I think it was Dailymotion where I ended up catching it. I never thought I'd see it on Youtube of all places, cool find.

It's a pretty good adaption I think. It was interesting what they did with DL-6 and Von Karma's character, and the were especially good. I wish they could've made Maya's personality a bit cheerier, but at the same time it makes sense not to because of the focus on 1-2 and 1-4.

Yeah I definitely understand why people don't really like this Maya.
The character was anything but Maya, but then again seeing how the plot went...
...I'd actually be more shocked if she would be cheerfull in this.
She seems more realistic here IMO and I like that...I think(?)
And who knows, maybe if we get a sequel she could be more cherfull in that.

...Speaking of sequel though....I guess they could go with JFA, but....
It would mostly be about only the fourth case, right?
Not that I'd mind but....a full lenght movie with just that might end up boring.
Personally I'd like if the sequel (if we ever get one) is something like 2-2, 3-4 and 3-5 tied together.
Probably the best way for it to work as a sequel IMO.
Oh...and by listing the 2-4 there I mean to add it in more like the 1-2 was in this.

But back to this movie now.
So....I'm surprised how much deeper they made Yogis character.
I read people going like WOOOAAAA for it but I didn't wanna spoil myself.
Ok, it's still the same story, but...it's the way they did it.
Totally for it though.

Hmmm...I did mention something how the characteristics were OK at most.
Lotta is good Lotta and Larry is the goofy, bit stereotypical, annoying but funn friend etc.
But I'd be lying if I'd say the Edgeworth and Karma, for example, wouldn't be good.
...Granted they don't really act that much other than just stand there calmly, but hey; that's what they do.
And let me say before anyone sucker punches me; They're fine!
Takumi Saitô was perfect calm Edgeworth and I never expected him to go like whoooo-iiiiii, or anything.
Maybe they got easy by getting these characters or something, but gonestly I can't complain of their acts.
...And performances like Shunsuke Daitôs Gumshoe were okay.
I never got the feeling like; YES! This is THE Gumshoe! -but considering there aren't pretty much any Gumshoe movies in the end at all...
...It's just unfair to say he'd be bad.
And then there's characters like the Judge....
...He is really different from the game Judge allright, but I just love how he was like;
WTF is going on and that monotome voice of his with that same tired looking face....I just loved how he's like; I don't give a **ck...!
Really different but extremely funny.

But hands down my favorite performance was and still is Hiroki Narimiyas Phoenix.
He is funny, he is interesting, he's so desperate, he is completely over the top acting...and he is loving every god damn minute he does it.
I always found Nick a bit (note; only a tiny bit) more serious than this performance but he is just so entertaining and perfect that you can't help but just love this.
The facial expressions, the body movement, his voice....ASIAN JOHNNY DEPP GOD DAMNIT..!!! ASIAN JOHNNY DEPP...!!!

I....I don't really know what to say about the movie.
They fall on courtroom, they have Yannis dark past, they have deep thoughts in the end they have interesting mystery plot....
Comedy, parody, drama, thriller all in one single movie and I loved this.
To be honest I don't think I'll see this over two hours movie again anytime soon, but god damn it was worth to see.
Maybe I get the region 2 dvd someday when it's probably cheap like a ***k or maybe sooner, but definitely loved this.

BTW....anyone else find it bit ironic how it plays the AJ objection theme in the end when Nick talked about how their job is not to make sure that someone is found guilty, but morelike finding the truth.
Maybe it's just me but the trump card in AJ's first case...yyyyeeeeah the track was kinda like; smell you later Wright! .in this movie.

I guess that's all I have out of blue....

Yeah it baffled me when AJ's theme played there.

An yes Yanni Yogi's story is done amazingly well.
Though yeah for a lot of characters they seem a little out I'm guessing cause they ain't cartoons anymore, can't get away with as much over the top stuff on some characters.

Take Gumshoe for example: In game he strikes a somewhat sizable presence with animations designed to make him look huge thickset and hulking over you. His real actor can't be so charicature and imposing because the size difference isn't so much.

Darn it. I didn't find this when I was trying to watch the movie before. As a result I had to sit through hours of lag over, like, two months trying to watch it on a different site. And I usually couldn't skip. So I ended up seeing most of it at least twice by the time I finally finished it xD (and then I downloaded one of the subbed versions that had the sound disabled to watch on my iPod... Didn't matter much if the sound worked or not to me since my iPod's speakers suck. And the audio jack is half busted, so most speakers and headphones connected to it suck too.)

Thank you for the link. And I disagree with the comment that Narimiya-sensei is the Asian Johnny Depp. Narimiya's much, much better.
